Service was great. Cyndi is certainly as true asset to Cuisot. Great food and great atmosphere.
Service was ok. Food wasn’t good. We ordered the dinner special as well as the appetizer special it wasn’t great for the price. Food was greasy and old school.
Had a great evening sitting outside on the patio. Perfect weather. Loved the fireplace. Great food. Looking forward to returning soon.
The food was excellent, the service was great, nice place for a date night, I would go again overall was a great place to go and dine.
Very classy and civilized dining. Done exactly the way fine dining should be done.
This place has great atmosphere. It is an upscale restaurant at the western end of El Paseo and shares a parking lot with the Palm Desert Art Museum and a wonderful Italian Restaurant called La Spiga. However, that is about all I can say that is positive about Cuistot. I ordered the New York steak medium rare and my companion ordered the Sea Bass. My steak was blood rare and sliced thin on the plate. The sauce was OK, but the meat was tough and loaded with gristle. The vegetables, which I was looking forward to, were portioned more as garnish than a side portion, and they were undercooked. The potato gratin was exactly one bite full. I sampled a bite of the Sea Bass and found it tasteless and over coated with breading. The wine list was extensive and way over-priced, which is not unusual for restaurants of this caliber. It is still disturbing to pay $55 for a bottle of Merlot that costs $17 at Total Wine. When you spend over $200 for a dinner, you expect better food quality and preparation. Cuistot did not deliver either. I will not be back.
We went to celebrate my husband's birthday. Although I hesitate to use this word, the evening was PERFECT! The waiter was very attentive and the food was artistically presented and incredibly delicious. We had a table with a view of the kitchen--what a talented group of chefs! Thank you to the entire staff of Cuistot for a memorable evening.
It had been a long time since we were out in the desert and decided to return to Cuistot. Once again, nothing disappointed. With quail stuffed with sweetbreads, rabbit, lobster pot pie, and duck on the menu, how can you go wrong. The food was beautifully prepared and served. Our server, Adriana couldn't have been nicer and more efficient. We will definitely return. We had a fun evening. It's a great place to people watch and they still serve the floating island dessert, which you just don't find in other restaurants.
We always go to Cuistot when in Palm Desert. Great food and service. Whether for outdoor lunch or special occasion inside in evening - lovely.
A lovely but very expensive luncheon, especially considering the fact that we abstained from enjoying a glass of wine with lunch.
Beautiful place, great service, disappointing miniscule servings, much too expensive for food served
When I made the reservation on OpenTable I requested their private wine room and mentioned that it was a special birthday. During the two weeks I sent numerous requests for both the table and for special dessert ideas. None of my requests were returned by the restaurant. The day before our reservation I phoned the restaurant and talked to the manager, Chris. I spent 20 minutes with him on the phone going over the desert for my birthday guest. When I arrived at the restaurant the next day I told the person who's sat us at our table and the waiter that I had talked to Chris the day before and he had sorted out a special dessert request. No desert was brought to the table. The bill for my guests and me, with drinks before was $700. Chris COMPLETELY DROPPED THE BALL AND forgot my desert request. The next day I called Chris and he said "I'm sorry that we didn't get you your free desert. I NEVER asked for a free dessert in fact I NEVER assumed the desert was free. I was absolutely horrified that he insinuated me, he was clearly making me feel like some kind of freeloader after spending $700 for dinner. He went on to say that "he was very busy and had other parties and sometimes things slip through the cracks."
Went here for our 51st Wedding Anniversary dinner. Very nice restaurant for a special occasion. Ambience in the main dining room is excellent. Very well appointed , in fact one of the nicest in the area. Staff was friendly and very accommodating . Food was well prepared and well presented. Desert selection was broad and both my wife's desert and mine were very good.
All in all a very good restaurant. We will definitely return in the future.
Great fashion show every Friday in season!
This was our first experience at Cuistot, but it certainly will not be our last. The environment is outstanding. The food and service is excellent. It has already become one of our very favorite dining places in the Coachella Valley. Simply beautiful!
Best martinis we have had in the desert!!! Edward was a fabulous bartender. Our meal was delicious and we will be going back!
First time, loved the mushroom soup and lobster ravioli. One of the best wine lists I’ve seen in the desert. Lobster pot pie and Any foie on the menu are delicious.
Had lunch. Niçoise salad was only so-so. A vinaigrette type dressing would be better also. Will order something different next time.
This was our first time at Cuistot’s and our meals and service were lots very. The food was delicious and the menu had lots to choose from.
Wonder food and beautiful place
Noisy. Awful table. Overly expensive. Horrible Caesar salad...limply lettuce
It is not much of an overstatement in the Desert area to say that there is eating out and there is dining at Cuistot. The food by Chef Bernard is of a quality you would expect to find only in major cities like New York and San Francisco. If in doubt, try the sea bass or veal chop which are frequently on the menu. Add a nice Bordeaux wine and a great dessert (if you still have the room) to finish off a dining experience you probably did not expect to have in this locale.
we would not have returned to this gem for the past 14 years if it had not been so remarkable.
You must always sit outside on the marvelous patio which is beautifully arranged so that you feel like you have the entire place to yourself. If you eat no where else in Palm Desert, dine at this restaurant!
Cuistot is a favorite for my husband and me and we love recommending to friends and family. We’ll enjoy Easter at Cuistot and are proud that we’ll be introducing it to friends that day.
Absolutely fantastic! Great experience at the restaurant and open table made the whole reservation process easy-to-use.
Absolutely the best in the desert! It never disappoints and I /we look forward to a return visit.
The house salad to begin with was excellent and the Dover Sole entrée was perfection! The server was great about offering our guest the opportunity to taste two different wines before making their final wine bottle selection. Desserts were terrific as well. The only negative to the whole dinner was that it took too long between the salad and the entrée. It was at least ten minutes, if not longer. The ambiance was wonderful and there was a fire in the cozy fireplace.
I have been dining at Cuistot when they were originally located on El Paseo. It was fabulous then, and it is fabulous now! If I was able to rate this restaurant on Open Table "10 stars," I would. Our recent visit was an early pre-theater dinner. Upon arrival, we were seated at a corner booth (as requested). Our server was professional and gracious. She brought our wine and cocktail immediately. We began our dining with Cuistot's excellent carrot ginger soup. As always, it was outstanding. For our entree, we both had the Filet and it was prepared to perfection. We finished our evening with Chef Bernard Dervieux's delightful Floating Island. It was delicious. Our server's assistant was also a gem. Cuistot is without a doubt, one of the desert's finest restaurants. Everything is always memorable.
A cut above the rest. We would definitely go there again. Beautiful patio too.
Great food, great service, great atmosphere. Definitely coming back!
Outdoor patio is very pleasant and enjoyable. Service was attentive and friendly. Food is pricey. Dover sole was excellent even if expensive. The special halibut entrée was just okay.
There were 7 of us, we were in one of the side rooms which was nice and quite. The staff was very helpful, smiled lots and pleasant. This is not a fast food place - this is French dinning which means conversation and a very relaxed attitude, your entrée will not arrive immediately following your appetizers, fine dinning requires time and conversation. So if our looking for fast immediate service your in the wrong restaurant - if your looking for fine dining with friends and an unhurried event - this is the place for you - Fine Dining, Great Wine list, and a very very reasonable price. We will definitely be back many times over - this was a great food experience.
Service can be slow on a Friday or sat night. Usually not a problem but waiter seemed rushed. Pasta with creme fraiche is a little heavy.
Fabulous food, great service. Love this place.
Took longer to bring food about 35 minutes we got full of bread
What a fabulous restaurant! Top notch service, gorgeous ambiance, outstanding food. Best tagliatelle I have ever had and I asked for chicken to be added which was no problem.
NOTE: I had mentioned in my notes here on open table, that if they had a fireplace, we would like to sit by it, and that if they made a lava cake, that would be nice for my husbands birthday.
BOTH things were accommodated with splendor. My husband said the dessert was the best he'd ever had. GO!!
Be ready for $51 entrees! Prices are the highest in the desert. The chef/owner comes by your table. Have the mushroom soup!
fabulous food! A once in a lifetime meal. Everything was perfect from the mushroom soup to the tart tartin
It was excellent. I'll go back 👍🏻
Thank goodness this wasn't our 1st visit, because it would have been our last. We love the food, but our service was so poor, even after we had to ask for bread, water refills and waiting, waiting, waiting to be cleared, service didn't improve. Make sure you don't get seated at the round table in the entry area you won't see any wait staff. We did tell the hostess about our experience and frankly she was not concerned. Not sure I will able to convince our friends to return.
