Excellent service & experience, one of my favorite restaurants!

Modena is consistently the best food and service I’ve had the pleasure of experiencing. Highlights were the Hokkaido scallops, octopus, beet & strawberry salad, and honey panna cotta. Petra, Chris, and all the staff are extremely attentive, warm, and welcoming. Fantastic wine choice by our sommelier.

Our waiter Daniel Shanko was a consummate professional. When one of my guests had a particular seating request, he ensured his accommodations were expeditiously met. He sets the bar sky high for hospitality service. Our steaks were perfectly grilled and our cocktails were made to perfection (hats off to the bar staff). The lobster mac and cheese was scrumptious as always. And the dessert plate was a delicious and decadent end to a great dinner. My guests said this was the best Capital Grille location they have been to and left very satisfied. We will return soon. Thank you Daniel and staff for a great evening.

A masterclass in simplicity done right—juicy, expertly seasoned, and topped just enough to enhance rather than overshadow the rich beefiness. The shrimp and grits bring the kind of Southern comfort that sticks with you, creamy yet light, with the right balance of spice and savoriness. The blue crab tartine is where things get truly exciting. Fresh, delicate crab piled onto perfectly grilled bread, a combination that manages to be both rustic and refined. And the dessert—coffee & cigarettes—might sound unconventional, but it’s downright genius, pairing smoky depth with velvety sweetness in a way that lingers on the palate long after you’ve finished. Mallard knows how to make food feel both familiar and wildly exciting. Every bite is crafted with care, every dish tells a story, and every meal leaves you planning your next visit before you even walk out the door.
