Best Sushi Restaurants in Nantucket

We had not been there in awhile. As usual, the food, especially the coriander crusted tuna, was terrific. The place has become much livelier in the past few years or so, with a booming and loud bar business only a few feet from our table. The pounding, relentless music only added to the din, causing significant communications challenges both for our otherwise wonderful server and ourselves. Bluefins feels like a different place now — still with its unmatched sushi and equally top notch fish entrees — but no longer the fairly quiet, primarily food focused place it had been. If you are looking for a lively new bar scene on Main Street Chatham, this is it. If calm, conversation-focused dining is your thing, however, this may no longer be the place for you.

We had a great meal with drinks and dinner. The Madaket drink is kind of a Manhattan and quite good. We can recommend the calamari and brussels sprouts appetizers. Everything else was fine. The server was extremely friendly and helpful. I would say they are over any opening bumps, which were mentioned in other reviews. They are hoping to stay open all year, which would be wonderful for us residents.

We had sushi, Udon noodle soup, Poke Bowl, sashimi and the freshest Shumai I’ve ever tasted. We’re only here a week and have reservations to come back again. I highly recommend this place. We had an awesome server too. Pablo.
