When the owners of Taverna Costale originally moved their families to Florida, they did so to create a revolution in hospitality. Their blueprint for success can be summed up in two simple words: People first. It is a commitment to those they work alongside, by creating welcoming, supportive environments in which to grow. It is a passion to deliver warm, welcoming experiences for their guests. It is the desire to make positive changes within their neighborhood through community outreach. For this reason, the owners cultivated a relationship with acclaimed chef Fabio Viviani, who brings unmatched culinary inspiration to the table. The synergy between the two group elevated the spotlight on people, culture, and quality - making Taverna Costale unique to what St. Pete has to offer.

Doc Ford is tropical adventurer who has spent a lot of time in the same far flung countries that I wrote about when I was a monthly columnist for places such as Cuba, Cambodia, South Africa, Australia, Vietnam, Borneo, and all over South and Central America. It was while traveling for Outside and other magazines I came to know and love the superb cuisine of the rural tropics.I loved the sauces, the spices, and the passion that went into the food preparation. We hope that spirit is part of Doc Ford’s Sanibel Rum Bar and Grille, too.
