Best Steak Restaurants in Nieuwmarkt

Quality of the meat was very good, which is saying a lot, since I'm used to USA aged beef. Per the web site "We prepare all meat dishes perfectly from the kitchen and you can grill it at the table.", but never had the option to have the kitchen cook the steak. I prefer that the meat be cooked to order and not having a black and blue piece of meat served on a stone for me to finish cooking to the desired doneness. The instructions provided for cooking time to the desired doneness were not proper for the thick cut of meat ordered (served 2). I basically needed triple or quadruple the cooking time. I also prefer that the steak be seasoned. When I cook steak at home, I cook with kosher salt, pepper and a little butter at the end to finish it off. Sauces were provided, but not my thing. I thought the price was very reasonable, and overall, the experience was very positive.

We sat out at the back Garden in beautiful weather having a very good meal here. We started with appetizers, hamburgers and steaks, and a tiramisu to end it all. Really great service, friendly, and a nice environment. It's nice but very casual in terms of dress. This was the perfect place for a good dinner after a day of touring and museums.

Definitely not what I was expecting after making my reservation. It’s a restaurant in a storefront on a side street in Amsterdam. Small business, but everything was great.
