Great Service, great food !! A must try in Oakland.

Phenomenal! The food is really authentic! Definitely worth the trip to Oakland.

The taste of the food was definitely worth the trip to Oakland, however, the set up is more of a cafe style, which I had not expected. I had the turkey wings which were excellent and my husband had the ox tails which he enjoyed, but said there was too much fat, next time, they should cut off some of the fat before serving to customers. The gravy used on the turkey wings and ox tails was exceptionally good. The beans and rice was average, the corn bread was good, and the cabbage was also good.

I discovered this gem on Yelp when I found out my favorite fancy restaurant downtown closed and needed somewhere to take friends for a special thank you. The restaurant had good rating, and I LOVED the fact that it was about giving at-risk youth a second chance at success :) Heck, I was sold just on that and was prepared to forgive some level of amateurishness, but the food was AMAZING, and the talent performing was excellent too. If I lived in SF, I'd spend more time there, but I have been telling anyone who would listen that they MUST GO.
