My friends and I went Tavern on the Point on a Sunday evening. Our waiter was one of the best parts of the evening, being attentive without being intrusive, quick to refill a drink and striking a nice balance between friendly and professional. The food was solid with a few mistakes. The Irish nachos (Waffle fries with toppings) were a bit over-cooked, but still enjoyable. My friend's 'Medium Rare' filet came out 'Medium Well,' but was replaced without complaint, but the side dish mashed potatoes were a bit cool by the time it arrived. The replacement proved to be worth the wait. My Vodka Rigatoni was really quite nice, while our friend's Linguine de Pesce was apparently quite tasty. Overall, we really enjoyed ourselves in large part because our waiter did an excellent job throughout the evening. We will definitely be returning.

My friends and I stopped by Brokedown Palace in Wrigleyville before a cubs game, and it was easily one of the coolest (and cleanest) bars I’ve been to in a long time. The drink selection was awesome, lots of great beers and cocktails. I have to shout out the 20 oz transfusion, it was my personal favorite and something I’ll be craving this summer. Beyond the drinks, the bartenders really made the experience. They were friendly, engaging, and actually took the time to chat and get to know us, which made the whole vibe feel welcoming and fun. We ended up staying for a couple of hours, and honestly didn’t want to leave. We liked it so much that we came back after the game to grab some food and hang out until the traffic died down. The atmosphere was just as great the second time around. We’re already planning to go back this weekend for March Madness!
