For a luncheon with friends this friendly gastro pub offered a lovely range of foods making a choice very difficult from the menu. There was ample parking and tables outside for pre dinner drinks. The inside was light and airy and not overly hot considering the outside temperature of 30°. The staff were helpful, professional and friendly. The service was as required, attentive but not over the top. The food was very good the steak and ale pie was a ‘proper’ pie with plenty of gravy serviced separately. The chips were delicious and hot. We viewed the sweets menu but at midday on a very hot day non of us were able to indulge. This therefore leads to another visit to sample some of those delights too! Only disappointment on a personal note there were no zero alcohol ciders!

What a brilliant meal. Our plumber recommended The Elms, so we thought we’d give it a go for the wife’s birthday. I was taking a risk, but it absolutely paid off.The food was fantastic and the service was spot‑on — friendly, helpful and never intrusive. We didn’t realise it was Steak Night, and the waitress letting us know about the free bottle of wine was a lovely touch.The steaks were perfect: great char, juicy inside, and full of flavour. Great food, great value, great night.

We had a great time, always enjoy the Hogshead. Especially on match days.

Service was excellent as always tables always clean and tidy wasn't over keen on the soup this time
