Young Joni is James Beard award-winning chef Ann Kim's restaurant located in the Arts District of Northeast Minneapolis. The menu is inspired by wood fire cooking and features an array of globally influenced dishes and signature pizzas. Dining Room reservations are offered for dinner and weekend brunch; walk-ins are available at our bar and community table.Young Joni is the recipient of 2019's James Beard Award for "Best Chef Midwest"; it has been featured in the New York Times and Vogue, and on Netflix's "Chef's Table: Pizza." Tucked discreetly behind Young Joni is the back bar, serving full and no-proof craft cocktails and pizzas in a warm, analog setting. Esquire named it one of 2019's Best Bars in America and Eater called it an "Essential Minneapolis Bar." Walk down the alley alongside Young Joni and look for the red light; when the light is on, the back bar is open!

    We were celebrating a family birthday on a Sunday evening, and the restaurant was busy the whole two hours we were there! The food was creative and delicious; the service was attentively prompt and the ambiance was like a large family’s kitchen! Thank you for a delightful meal💐

    Even with our group of 8, service was attentive and timely at this popular neighborhood spot. It was a late lunch so the room was quiet. Food, as always, was excellent ( pizza crust is the best thin style with a bit of char and chew) and the large beer list had something for everyone.

    This was our first time going here, and we will be going back in the future. The waitress was very friendly, and even comped my wife's beer since my wife had mentioned it was our anniversary and our first time there.

    We were seeing a show nearby and looking for a quick bite to eat so we tried out Mother Clucker's because how do you walk past a place with that name and not go in? It was SO GOOD. Seriously. The bartender was so nice and recommended the chicken sandwich with mac as "fire." She was not wrong. So. Good.
