Dear diners, please be aware that non-Quandoo vouchers cannot be used in conjunction with online booking. If you wish to use non-Quandoo vouchers, please contact the restaurant directly. It’s not quite on a bay, but it might as well be given the maritime bounty on offer at this restaurant along MacPherson Road. Just a fifteen minute walk from MacPherson station, Crab at Bay Seafood Restaurant is a specialist when it comes to Chinese-style fish and seafood. Every day the kitchen sources Singapore’s freshest seafood, from clams and tiger prawns, to lobster, crabs, squid and an assortment of fish. The signature crab bee hoon is a big hit in the city-state, as is the classic steamed and buttered lobster. Looking for some esoteric Chinese classics? Go for the shark’s fin with crab meat soup, or moving away from seafood, the essence of chicken with frogs’ legs, whatever that is. You’ll just have to book a table and find out for yourself!

The brainchild of DP Architects and GRUB, redpan has a bit of an edge to it. Singapore is overloaded with places you could say this about: this is funky fusion food in a cool space. But in this case we actually mean it. DP’s experienced eye for design and attention to detail is evident in every little aesthetic feature, while GRUB pull together the best of local Singapore produce and global cooking styles to dish up a range of unique western and Asian fusion dishes. Singapore has no shortage of restaurants, but few (if any) have a formula quite like this one on Raffles Boulevard (in Marina Square), and it’s well worth a try.
Founder Bak Kut Teh in Bugis is one of Singapore’s most loved and sought-after dining spots. Specialising in rou gu cha – or bak kut teh in the Hokkien and Teochew dialects – for over 40 years, Founder Bak Kut Teh is without a doubt the place to head for steaming bowls of this delicious dish. With several branches peppered throughout Singapore, each bowl of delicious Chinese soup is made using fresh pork ribs that are simmered in a secret broth made with an array of herbs and spices. It’s really no surprise that locals can’t get enough. The Founder Bugis outpost is located on North Bridge Road – reservations are essential to avoid disappointment.
La Cala Singapore is a Spanish and Mediterranean restaurant in the heart of Bugis, one that we really can’t get enough of. It’s a contemporary space on Fraser Street that’s casual and great for lunch or dinner. The menu is as authentically Spanish as it gets and features tapas, paella, fresh fish and seafood, premium meat and a few options fresh from the charcoal oven to boot. There’s so much to recommend, but we really love the pigeon paella or the Catalan-style slow-cooked lamb rack. La Cala Singapore is right by Bugis MRT so it’s easy to get to no matter where you’re coming from, just be sure to arrive armed with an advance reservation.

Chef Alvin’s creative twists on well-known Asian classics breathe new life into old, familiar recipes and inspire a fresh appreciation for the flavours and ingredients you always thought you knew.
The centrepiece of the restaurant’s open kitchen is the hot coal grill. Serving up a selection of mouth-watering meats and seafood chargrilled to perfection throughout the week, the Demon Grill is the star attraction of the restaurant.
If there’s one thing Singapore loves more than almost anything else, it’s chicken rice, and Jew Kit Restaurant in Somerset has been serving some of the best chicken rice in the city since 1992. Indeed, the chicken rice here is authentic Hainanese, but there’s also plenty else on the main menu with other signatures like homemade dumplings, coffee pork ribs, and special pineapple steamed fish. You’ll find Jew Kit Restaurant right on Killiney Road, just around the corner from Somerset MRT and one very popular restaurant that you should absolutely arrive at having secured your table in advance. Jew Kit is almost always busy.
