Montys is a traditional and authentic Nepalese Restaurant, owned by husband and wife team of Shiva and Lina Gautam. Although we get, wrongly, categorised as an Indian, I can say proudly that we are Nepalese all the way through, owned, cooked and served by Nepalese. The real deal, we are what we say on the tin, so to speak. Montys of Kathmandu opened its doors to the public, very quietly, without any fanfare, on a wet September evening 1997, hence it took us forever to get noticed! But after over 15 years of serving great Nepalese food to the Irish public as well as our visitors from abroad, we are now very much part of the Dublin’s premium ethnic restaurant. Montys of Kathmandu offers a great variety of Nepalese food at great value with great Nepalese service, where the customers are always treated with great respect. Our focus is to source quality raw ingredients and prepare all dishes in house, taking no short cuts and serve great Nepalese food.

    From start to finish our meal & service was top class.. My Wife had Deep fried Prawns & 1 had Chicken starters.. popadoms & dips.. full of flavour.. washed down with a lovely btl of Chardonnay.! Mains we had Chicken tikka & lamb Rogan .. So tasty !! The Wonderful Staff were so nice.. they laughed & chatted with us & looked after us so well. We will definitely return very soon.. Thank you so much. Special mention to Raham & Reem & the lovely lady who served us. Sorry I didn't get her name.. they all made us feel very comfortable & happy..

    We're occasional visitors to Monty's and always leave saying we'll come back soon! Great, polite service, superb food and a lovely experience - again. One of my dinner companions hadn't been before and his vegan needs were very well catered for. Lovely venue.

    We had a reservation for 4.45pm on a Saturday evening. This was our second visit. Diwali was lovely and quiet! Staff were very attentive, and able to make suggestions and describe the dishes we asked about. They were also very friendly and polite. Our meal - starters, main course, and dessert, ordered off the main menu - were delicious! We were also offered us a complimentary sambuca at the end of our meal! The toilets were spotless too. We had a really lovely evening, and will look forward to returning ASAP. Highly recommended!

    Very nice restaurant. Excellent food quality and nice ambience. Used to be called Fishtail earlier, but even under the new owners they have maintained the quality and taste of Nepali dishes.
