I’ve been a Wagamama fan going back to the the 1990s in London. While I miss the original, British version’s concept of long communal tables that encourage a sense of community and chitchat diners thrown together by face, the food was as good as ever. While the service was solid, on this visit I had a beer can explode upon opening and had to ask twice for water when suddenly choking on something spicy that went down the wrong way, and no, I really don’t need the bartender to point at a glass of water and tell me that the server will bring it to me, when he and the server are chatting together at the end of the bar and I’m in mid-choke. But other than that 60 seconds of drama, I had a great time and, as always, the food hit the spot, the spot being my stomach. :-)
