Masuya Restaurant is located in a building, which has been designated as a cultural asset, on O’Connell Street in Sydney. This is the same place as the office of Kanematsu Gosho, the pioneer of Australia – Japan trades, was situated in 1980. Masuya Restaurant opened in 1993, then full renovation was implemented in 2006.The approx. five meters long sushi counter, designed by architect Robert Toland in ‘kabuki red’ with an idea of the stage of kabuki, has since fascinated not only local Australian customers but also various people with different backgrounds.A showcase displays more than 20 different sushi ingredients everyday including locally produced fish, which is purchased on the day. Other carefully selected ingredients are wagyu beef, free-range pork, and seasonal vegetables. Specially designed tableware of Malcolm Greenwood and tables made of Tasmanian Oak is also creating a great atmosphere. Enjoy your time in this amazing space of hospitality.

    Iki Dining was such a great experience from start to finish. I organised a birthday dinner for my friend, and the team made the celebration feel extra special. The highlight of the night was definitely the customer service. Tara and her team were absolutely exceptional. We were a group of 14, and they looked after us with so much patience, warmth, and genuine hospitality, making sure everything ran smoothly while making everyone feel welcome. Our table was intimate and the perfect size for conversation, happy hour on a Saturday night was an added bonus, the food was delicious, and the location was super convenient. A big thank you to Tara and the whole team for making the night so memorable. We truly appreciated everything you did for us, and we’ll definitely be back.

    My husband requested Japanese for his birthday dinner, after getting back from family trip to Japan a couple weeks prior. This did not disappoint! The staff were incredible, atmosphere was authentic, food was outstanding. The general overall vibe transported us right back to Tokyo! We will definitely be back!

    My favorite Japanese 'go to' place to have lunch either by myself or with business partners. I love the food, friendly service and the fact that it is not overwhelmingly busy or crowded. Prices are reasonable and service is good. I will ne back!
