- MMaryLos Ángeles •2 reseñas5.0Comieron hace 6 díasI’ve eaten at Homareya several times now, and I can confidently say this is one of the best restaurants in Long Beach. Living in the neighborhood, I’ve worked my way through a good portion of the menu, and I’m still amazed that every single dish somehow exceeds the last. It’s one of those rare places where you stop wondering what to order because you realize there really isn’t a wrong choice. This visit was especially memorable because I brought my sister here on her first night visiting from out of town. I wanted her first meal in Long Beach to be special, and Homareya absolutely delivered. We shared oysters, white fish with white ponzu and seaweed noodles, wagyu skirt steak with yuzu kosho chimichurri, chicken thigh skewers, chicken tender skewers, Kurobuta pork belly skewers, and the shredded cabbage salad. Every dish was beautifully prepared, perfectly balanced, and packed with flavor. The steak was cooked flawlessly, the fish was incredibly fresh and delicate, the oysters were outstanding, and even a simple cabbage salad became something we’d both be talking about afterward. The standout of the night, though, was the Kurobuta pork belly skewer. It literally melts in your mouth. It was so unbelievably good that we ended our meal by ordering a second round because we couldn’t leave without having it one more time. By the end of dinner, my sister looked at me and said, “That was the best meal I’ve ever had.” That’s about as high of praise as a restaurant can receive. She was only half joking when she said she was considering moving to Long Beach after that meal. Beyond the food, the service is consistently exceptional. Every member of the staff is warm, welcoming, knowledgeable, and genuinely seems to care that you have a great experience. That hospitality is a huge part of what keeps me coming back. Downtown Long Beach is incredibly fortunate to have a restaurant like Homareya. This place is a perfect 10 out of 10.Más informaciónHomareya$$$$• Especialidad Japonesa• Long Beach•4.7

It’s also very conveniently located, next to the 405 freeway. So we often visit on our way to or from the airport.Más informaciónIzakaya Akatsuki$$$$• Izakaya• Hawthorne/Gardena•4.5

I ordered a bunch of yakitori dishes (different proteins) and a bunch of dishes prepared from the back kitchen (which I believe it’s shared between the izakaya and the ramen place next door). The yakitori dishes are hands down more flavorful. Chef Vincent the yakitori chef did a great job in front of the guests. Make sure you order the chicken meatballs…..Más informaciónShin-Sen-Gumi Robata & Yakitori – Fountain Valley$$$$• Japonesa• Fountain Valley•4.8
