Best Italian Restaurants in Van Nuys

Been eating there for years since they opened! Service was off! No manager on the patio to oversee service. There were times no one was on the patio for assistance. The server could not understand English. When asked what was in the gluten free pasta, she replied by saying spaghetti. We needed to know what kind of flour was used. She didn’t offer to ask the chef. My veal chop was served raw and had to be sent back. I had to eat when my party was done. They could have offered free drinks or desserts. Very disappointed in service and we brought our friends for their first time there. The food was delicious though. Just not a Drago experience!

Such a wonderful experience took my wife here on a date night. The server was knowledgeable and provided options for us. The food was remarkable will definintely be back.

5🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟- Let me give some context... I'm sure you'll agree, going out for dinner on a major holiday like Mother's Day, especially to an Italian restaurant of this quality is a challenge, to say the least. With that said, let me start with the chef-owner, Giorgio. Yes he was on the floor, sleeves up and who was overseeing each and every guest along with managing the backend while keeping an eye on floor. As the restaurant was literally full, we had to wait a few extra minutes for our main entre but Giorgio took care to ensure everything went smooth. We were all highly impressed with everything. Our server was managing several large tables of what appeared to be Italian families along with several other 4 and 6 tops. Each dish we ordered was delicious. Even as busy as they were they allowed us to split a Caesar 3 ways and there was enough for all. The salad was fresh with just the right amount of dressing and cheese and croutons with a slight hint of garlic. Bread was soft and crunchy. You know what I mean. The freshest calamari, and a spaghetti and meatball dish to die for. I believe the meatballs were ground filet and the sauce was exquisite. I could swear I could hear Grandma in the kitchen. It must have been her cookin' straight form Italy.
