The Cat Inn is a 16th century free house set in the picturesque village of West Hoathly, a hilltop village set in the heart of the Sussex countryside. It is in within easy distance from the towns of East Grinstead and Haywards Heath and only 25 minutes from Gatwick Airport. The Pub with its oak beams and two inglenook fireplaces proffers a warm and cosy atmosphere in the winter, whilst our terrace is perfect to enjoy a drink and food in the summer months. Being a free house we pride ourselves in the quality of our real ale, and concentrate on local breweries, such as Harvey's of Lewes and other micro breweries. Our food is cooked to order, using fresh, seasonal and where possible locally sourced ingredients. Our menus change on a regular basis and we also offer a small selection of seasonal specials on a daily basis. We welcome children over the age of 7. Dogs are welcome in the "pub" area of the Cat, they are not permitted in the dining room

    We love the Fig Tree and have been several times before. Lovely food, relaxed dining experience and a great team serving us the food. We had the taster menu with wine flight. All dishes were super tasty, wine flight interesting and well paired, especially the dessert wines which really added to the strawberry related pudding. We also loved the fans on the table - great idea in this heatwave.

    Really lovely find this restaurant - searched for places to eat so hadn’t been told s as bout it beforehand. If you’re in the area give it a go - lovely guy serving us and really good food. Nice atmosphere- we’d definitely recommend this restaurant 👍

    Tony our waiter was as brilliantly as always. The food was absolutely gorgeous as always. It is a firm favourite of ours. The atmosphere was so lovely and the setting is simply beautiful.

    We both had delicious salads and didn’t realise it was music night so were serenaded as well. It was a little loud downstairs in the restaurant but this did not detract from a great evening.
