My wife and I love the food , service @ Smellys. The service is first class and we feel like we are taken care of by the waiter assinged to us. The location is what it is. The Soul Food menu is perfect . I never order greens anywhere but decided to try theirs and feel in love with the taste. I’ll order them again. I’m a big fan of the Garlic Noodles. My 4th time there and I keep talking about Smellys to my friends. The Oxtails and the Seafood are my favorites.

Food was excellent and the service was attentive. They were very busy so not as attentive as maybe they should have been but very nice. I like the idea of the Chef visiting the tables to see how people were enjoying their meals. Very nice touch

1st visit. Great menu, just beed a chef that knows how to cook southern food. It was horrible. I tried two items, the first was shrimp appetizer. It was just overly spicy, no flavor, just hot. Returned it and ordered catfish suggest. They were soggy, I ate on those b/c I was hungry. The bartender still charged me 1/2 price for the horrible shrimp I returned. Bartender could not make an old-fashioned cocktail, but said he could. Nice guy, but stick to beer or wine, something that has 2 items only. I was there for the music. I'll be back, I'll eat dinner b4 I come next time. Loved the place, very old school blues vibe. Meet new people there, but if they are missing the mark on the food. I'm in the food industry, and I see huge potential if they had a chef that specialized in Southern foods. Biscuits were bland. I was told the Latina chef just follows a menu. That is not cool..
