Best Contemporary American Restaurants in Elmwood Park

Great spot for a special occasion. The atmosphere is very reminiscent of a Paris bistro. Start with a cocktail. We enjoyed a French 77 along with a baked brie appetizer. Blue point oysters on the half shell had just the right touch of briny to go with a spicy sauce. Try the fish special of the day. The pike was delicious and came with a mix of asparagus and fingerling potatoes. The beef wellington was cooked to perfection and came with au gratin potatoes and green beans. Raspberry souffle to finish along with chocolate mousse. An excellent evening where dinner was the star. Thank you Juan for taking such good care of us.

The pizza was a standout, cheesy, crispy, and full of flavor. The crust had the perfect crunch, and it hit just right with a soda. It felt a bit more upscale than your usual slice. I’d definitely tell a friend to try it.

Nice place, great creative food, excellent service but definitely too noisy

Went in search of a quiet place for lunch, with an option to enjoy a glass of wine. Little Gem checked all the boxes. It was busy with a number of fellow diners evidently looking for a similar experience; it looked as though we all found where we wanted to be. We ordered the hummus appetizer - excellent and surprising with the addition of chili, and the beet salad with a goat cheese moose. Outstanding! Thank you, Little Gem, for living up to your name!

So when I first entered I was greeted by a very polite young man who explained to me I would need to be searched. I didn't understand at first because I've never gotten searched to enter a restaurant. So I allowed this because I was meeting a friend and she was in route. Has Chicago gotten so bad that at 4pm on a weekday you have to be searched to get a decent meal on the Westside? Other then that and a little slow service the atmosphere was great the food was fantastic and the prices were reasonable. So I can give them four stars. But I suggest a discreet metal detector because I would never bring my business clients to a place and have to be physically searched
