Blacklock is a modern take of the Great British chophouse nestled in the corner of a Grade II listed textiles warehouse. We take the best meat in the country from the award-winning farmer and butcher Philip Warren in Cornwall. We cook chops simply over our charcoal grill with a little help from vintage Blacklock irons and serve it all up alongside cocktails from the trolley and wine on tap in our subterranean chop mecca. The Chequers Inn is a 14th century building with as much charm as it has history. Owned by Jonathan & Joanne Tindall since 2002, this cosy inn is also a hotel, serving as a brilliant base for exploring the Peak District, whether it be a visit to Chatsworth House or a walk along Froggatt Edge. Boasting an AA Rosette, the food at The Chequers ranges from the classic fish and chips and burgers to the seasonally-changing dishes such as lamb rump, seabass and vegetable pithivier.     AS usual we were met by a pleasant member of staff ,seated quickly in a comfortable place, our every needs were catered for , ordering , service ,quality of food was excellent. all in very lovely place, and finally the cost was very reasonable for what we had received.

    Thoroughly enjoyed our afternoon tea at The Serpentine. Booked as a belated Mother's Day treat, we were delighted with the experience. Hazel and team were welcoming and we loved the decor and ambience. The afternoon tea superb; we were hard pressed to pick a favourite element. We enjoyed trying various teas from the menu. Excellent value; we will definitely be returning!
