Hello there!Forthright is a cafe with a leafy patio just south of Cesar Chavez and Brazos; between The Line hotel and the Four Seasons hotel: a quiet cul-de-sac by Ladybird Lake where the street ends. We offer surface parking on the east and west side of the building on a first come first serve basis. We make honest food from scratch, prepared well, using quality ingredients. In the morning we pour locally sourced Tiny House roasters coffee, we also offer a full-bar with drink specials to kick off your brunch! Enjoy avocado toast with poached eggs, the best French Toast you have ever experienced, or pastrami hash and chicken and waffles for brunch. We are here to serve all of your brunch needs. Tall windows, natural light, a comfortable patio, plenty of shade... a place for a small brunch with friends or a celebration. We’re from here, we felt like downtown Austin deserved something ‘easy’ again.

    Our party of 8 had the most amazing dinner experience at El Alma. Our server Mark was outstanding, the atmosphere was fun and just what a bunch of moms out to dinner free of their kids needed! The drinks were as amazing as ever (highly recommend the Almatini), and the food was incredible. The tacos never disappoint, and I am obsessed with the rice and cheese relleno. Tried the Chuleta de Puerco En Coca-Cola (Coca-Cola sous vide pork chop) and the Camarones A La Plancha (Gulf shrimp in garlic ancho butter) for the first time and OMG... the specialties of the house are absolutely the way to go! To die for. Great evening, great food, great service, shared with great friends- couldn't ask for more! Can't wait to go back soon.

    Hubby and I ate breakfast here for his birthday. Such a cute setting and welcoming atmosphere. We both had the Lost Bread & Country Pork Sausage-seriously what?! this is a must try if you haven't already...amazing chef and staff! Great Customer service, my hubby even received a sweet birthday card & complimentary slice of pie! We were greeted with warmth on our way in and thanked for being there on our way out, a perfect experience!
