Something special and different. Excellent fine dining. It was kind of a modern take on Nordic cuisine, with unusual ingredients and great flavours and textures. Well worth it.

The food at The Royal Oak is very good and some rungs above your standard pub fare. The menu is well-balanced with something for everyone - from perfectly cooked Snapper to slow cooked lamb shoulder. Entrees deliver maximum flavour and are ideal for sharing. The grilled octopus was a standout. The service is relaxed but attentive and underpins a "familiy and friends" ambiance. The wine list offers a good selection by the glass and bottle. The pinot noir and sangiovese we ordered were both good and at the right price point for a relaxed lunch. The price is a bit more than you will pay for a standard pub meal but is actually very good value for money. Highly recommended
