Best American Restaurants in Hato Rey Norte

We had heard great things about Lala Puerto Rico and were greeted warmly by the hostess upon arrival. Our server was attentive, offering drink recommendations and answering our menu questions. However, the drinks took a while to arrive, and the "In the Clouds" cocktail my friend ordered contained egg whites, which wasn’t mentioned on the menu. Overall, the drinks were a bit too sweet and standard, so I opted for a traditional Gimlet, which was just okay. For food, we ordered the Sweet Corn Agnolotti (x2), Tuna Tartare, and Eggplant Mignon Steak (V)—all of which were flavorful and well-prepared. Overall, it was a decent experience with good food, nice ambiance, and friendly service.

Great spot that was recommended by fellow travelers at the hotel we were staying in. Its in the Vanderbilt Hotel, which is upscale but this place was thankfully a little more casual (we were in nice shirts and shorts-not beachwear). Drinks, food, and service (TY Angel!) were all great but the bill stung a little-2 drinks, 1 app, and two triple taco plates were over $140). Still a great spot!

We came to Morton’s San Juan for a birthday dinner for our 2 boys. After what was an incredibly difficult 12+ hours of travel and just everything going wrong. The staff at Morton’s made my boys feel so special - our waiter, Edgar was phenomenal!!!! The food was incredible and this experience turned our entire day around.

Excellent French toast! We had the cinnamon roll and strawberry guava cheesecake. Wish there were more combination plates that came with specialty toast or a way to purchase a half order. Good, quick service. Four stars because they actually confirmed our reservation for the previous day even though when we got there they had been without power for days and were closed. And also because breakfast food is pretty standard to do well.

Great dinner. The service was excellent and our steak was perfectly cooked. The sides and sauces were great, and the ambiance was cozy. Highly recommend for a top-notch steak dinner!
