Mimi’s Bakehouse is a second-generation family business established in Edinburgh in 2010, when Michelle Phillips sold her family home to open a bakery café in Leith. We have gone on to build a local success story brand that gives people a ‘hug when they walk in the door’ as the original café has since doubled in size and the business has gained five more shops, a successful website selling cakes online and a concession at Archerfield Walled Garden. We also opened an industrial bakery in March 2020, out of which most online trade is produced for fulfilment. Mimi’s Bakehouse has become one of Edinburgh’s best-loved bakeries and an award-winning brand which is a well-known “feel good” place to visit, while remaining small enough to go the extra mile and try new things.We serve brunch, afternoon tea, coffee and cake.

    EXCELLENT. 1ST VISIT FOR MY SISTER & I. EVERYTHING WAS TRULY AMAZING. SERVICE IMPECCABLE, FOOD OUTSTANDING. PLATES WERE CONSTANTLY REPLENISHED. AT NO TIME DURING OUR VISIT, DID WE SEE AN EMPTY DISH. THIS WAS A HIDDEN GEM THAT WE’RE SO BERY HAPPY TO HAVE DISCOVERED. WE WILL 100% BE BACK. WE’RE BRINGING FRIENDS NEXT TIME!! EVERYONE INVOLVED DESERVES A HUGE PAT ON THE BACK. WHAT A TEAM. THANK YOU ALL SO BERY MUCH.

    We dined here for the afternoon tea. Overall, it was lovely. A LOT of food! We weren't crazy about the sweets option, however. The cakes were pretty dry, but the little lemon custard was yummy, as was the passion fruit pavlova.

    It was very quiet when we had hour booking, only 3 tables being served, we felt as we were being rushed out the door. We would have had 3 courses and a drink in less than 30 minutes. We asked the waiter/host to give us 10 minutes between courses and he was happy to oblige as we wanted to enjoy the food and chat at the table. The food was lovely, really tasty, well presented and proportion sizes were great.
