Other than our waitress disappearing for 10-15 mins when we were ready to order drinks and dinner it was great.
Favorite place ever- definitely have to make reservations ahead of time but always worth it. We love it!
Busy night, so the food came slowly (though it was good when it arrived). It was noisy and a bit too dim to quite read the menus. Table service was excellent. I would go back, but on a quieter night or for lunch.
Our service was great and the food was even better. We truly enjoyed our time and wanted to go back again the next night.
I would recommend yes with caution, like do not order the whole roasted branzino. It tasted so bland, missing salt, pepper and acid. I asked for salt and pepper and for some reason only got a a pinch of each. Didn't help. Was very disappointed!!
Great ambiance and love the small plates. Wine was great and great service. Food was delicious. Had the zucchini blossoms, octopus, heirloom tomatoes, and squid ink pasta. Very pleased with all the dishes
I have gone to Cucina Urbana on many occasions with my clients and have always had a magnificent experience. The wine list is tremendous and the food is always spectacular. Fun, funky, not overly complicated and always tasty. It is great for sharing. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly. Highly recommend!
Two adults, three kids.
Each for drinks (but no alcohol) & everyone got their own pizza. With tip and valet, ended up being $140, which is a little steep. But the vibe, service and food were all good.
My favorite restaurant in San Diego, great food, creative drinks and wonderful service!
Our server was absolutely amazing, I wish I could remember her name! She gave us honest recommendations from the menu.
Lived up to the high expectations! Hey the octopus, it’s a signature dish and absolutely delicious. Then get a pasta because they make all of their pasta in-house and it’s perfect. Ask your server what you should do so you’re not led astray! My server Rebecca made sure I didn’t order something I would regret.
This restaurant was the best in our 4 day tour of San Diego. Service was incredibly friendly and attentive but not at all snooty or overbearing. The food was amazing. The wine was amazing. The prices were very reasonable considering the food quality and service. My husband being more of a meat/potatoes guy I couldn't get him to try the pizza with fig, so we ordered the chopped salad, pepperoni & sausage pizza and the bucatini. The bucatini was so, so good. Highly recommend. Left here very happy.
Great restaurant, love the ambiance, the service was great. We had made reservations at 9 pm and had shown up almost an hour and a half earlier, they did their best to accommodate us at quick as they can.
We will definitely be back!
It was already a good sign seeing so many people lined up outside just prior to the restaurant opening for their dinner service. Stepping inside we noticed how uniquely decorated the establishment is; with hip, raw, but warm elements - very inviting. Everyone who waited on us was so kind and genuine to interact with. We enjoyed a handful of dishes and drinks and everything was absolutely delicious - wonderful flavors, superb quality, realistic portions. We are so glad to have discovered this place!
The service was excellent & the food was above all very well good and presentation was excellent! Wine selection was good! Overall this was a great experience! Can’t wait to go again!
This may be my new favorite restaurant! I have passed by this restaurant almost daily and finally after many years decided to give it a go. I’m so glad I did! The service and food were above and beyond! It is a little pricey and the portions can be on the smaller side, however it is all done superbly. My date and I enjoyed the mussels, patê, octopus and pizza as first course. For our main we shared the steak and for dessert the lemon semifreddo. The drinks were also well done; we enjoyed a Campari Spritz and the Il Zenzero. We will definitely be back!
I’ve always sat at the bar, due to it being busy the second time I’ve been here. This time I sat at a table and it was great. Overall, great dining experience & highly recommended.
Fun place, great decor, delicious food. Only negative was the noise level. That said we were there on a Friday evening and the house was full. Would definitely recommend and will definitely return.
Frickin sweet place!
Best Restaurant! I take colleagues, special business friends and family! I love it!
Becky was amazingly personable and well versed I. The menu. We very much appreciated and enjoyed the entire experience. Great finds on the wine list!
Staff at Cucina Urbana makes you feel very much at home; they are knowledgeable, attentive without being obtrusive, and clearly interested in your dining comfort!
Never disappointed at Cucina Urbana! Chopped salad was amazing to share as well as the pasta & cheese dish adding prosciutto and fennel sausage...heavenly
our first pizza was overdone, but there was a medical emergency during that time and our
server noticed it and replaced it with one that was perfect. Manager very nice
As always the food and drinks were amazing and our server, Kevin, was as well!!
Cucina Urbana never disappoints. It's a great place to go with family, friends, or business associates. The food is very good, and they have a nice wine selection.
Cucina Urbana has a good mix of Italian comfort foods and new approaches to classic Italian dishes.
The best dinner every time! One of my favorite spots for date night.
Amazing food and wonderful servers. Great ambiance and very comfortable seating. I really loved the creamy polenta and ragu.
We've been to Cucina Urbana in the past and it never disappoints. Love everything about it. The only criticism is the noise level but who cares when the rest of the experience is so amazing!
Ate here on a Saturday night with an early reservation so started off quiet, but then got very busy. The noise though was not deafening and my wife and I could have a casual conversation without having to raise our voices. The service and the food were exceptional. Loved the octopus and the bucattini. The pork osso buco was also delicious, though after three or four smaller dishes, we were not able to get through even half of it. Wines were very good as well.
I love Cucina Urbana. Service, food, ambiance all terrific.
It was great but it was a little loud other than that it was great!
Fantastic food, and very good service, considering how busy they were. I’d definitely go back, but probably not on a weekend; the noise level was a bit too much for me.
Love it. Try the squash blossoms. A hard to find treat!
Great food and wine selection. Love the atmosphere and flavor combinations. I would definitely eat here again!
Went to Cucina to celebrate my birthday. We brought my 96 year old mother along. Service was outstanding all the way from helping her to the handicap entrance to the outstanding table service throughout dinner. All three courses we ordered were delicious and included the Burrata Salad, Pasta with Spar ribs and Tierra mi sue.
Service was excellent and the food was wonderful. The wine selection was good as well.
The food is really delicious especially chicken liver! However, the overall environment is crowded and noisy. It's very easy to get hit when when somebody tried to pass through.
We had heard great things so we had high expectations, and they were exceeded in every possible way. Our server was able to ask us a few questions about our palates and served us the perfect wine to compliment our meal and satisfy our tastes. Everything we ate or drank was delicious.
