As if being in Sedona wasn’t magical enough- when you pass through the outdoor gates of Cucina Rustica you enter a restaurant unlike most others. The restaurant wraps its arms around you and settles you into dining experience that many foodies seek out but rarely find. Couples and large parties enjoy unobstructed service and ambiance. The tone of the restaurant is rich warm colors of the Mediterranean woven into the four dining rooms, uniquely separate but locked hand in hand to each other. Owner and Chef Lisa Dahl designed the restaurant with old world doors, lighting, windows for peek-a-boo openings, iron work, 4 fireplaces, 2 fountains and 2 magnificent patios. The large L-shaped bar area is vibrant, subtly lite and serving Wine Spectator list wines and fine cocktails while the sounds of the chef’s on the line ebb and flow in the background.
When you dine at Cucina Rustica the world is a million miles away.

Visited Cucina Rustica to determine if it was venue worthy for a reception dinner, and it exceeded our expectations! The food was delicious, the atmosphere cozy and inviting, and our waitress (Shonnte) was friendly, informative, and accommodating. We plan to arrange our wedding reception dinner here next year and will be back many more times before then to sample more of the outstanding menu!!

Hate to say that we were woefully disappointed. Nice looking restaurant, but the food was mediocre and the service poor. Our waiter seemed impressed by himself, but never asked us if we wanted a drink, literally read the specials off the table card which we had already read. Servings were small and two of the meals were cold. Mother’s sauce had little flavor. Meals and drinks were overpriced and my wife’s Tito’s and cranberry juice had a 50 cent up charge for cranberry juice??!! Not at all recommended. Go to Miley’s!

Truly disgusting. I can’t remember the last meal I had that was this bad. The sauce over the pasta was a soup. Don’t waste your time or your money.

Excellent meal, presentation and service. We had reservations for 4, but had 2 additional people join us. The staff took just a few minutes to adjust our table to seat 6 and was gracious about it.

We had a nice dinner here on our last night in Sedona. We stayed at the Hilton and it was just around the corner. Easier than driving with all the traffic back to Sedona. Food was good to excellent and priced appropriately. Not a cheap menu but not a bank buster. No regrets and would recommend.

My fish was over cooked. I think this was due to delay between app and main course (we didn’t finish app so I think they waited to long to bring out entree).

The appetizer special, grilled peaches, was fabulous. I wish we had stopped there. The Caesar salad was goopy with too much dressing. Our pasta dishes were poorly executed. The pasta was al dente but the sauces were thin and watery. The primavera was tasteless and I sent it back. The replacement dish, Angelica, with prawns was only slightly better. My husbands bolognese was okay. We’re from the East and used to ‘real’ Italian. Very disappointing. Service and ambience were satisfactory.

We’ve ordered found long before we came the table we were seated in the small room a bit Clastrofobic Also food was nice but nothing more than that desserts we did not order since watching other people’s we didn’t really want what we sow if ever I would recommend sitting in the patio in ordering only pasta And sit on the patio which was in the evening very nice and with nice music also I wish we were seated there I think the price is pretty high and they are lucky to have the toy store this time because I do not have a think they will have other people coming again it was nice but nothing more than that

Cucina Rustica is a very similar menu to Lisa's other Sedona Italian - Dahl & Deluca - but the atmosphere is much better. The menu seems to have changed a bit and the food we had was enjoyed thoroughly by everyone. The wine list has too many recent vintages of reds, and it is not cheap, but we found a wine with some age at a reasonable price and enjoyed it. I'm sure that with the traffic Cucina gets, keeping anything other than very recent vintages is quite difficult. This occasion was with some friends from Chicago, and they enjoyed the food and the service, as well as the very nice atmosphere.

Inside was very loud...I asked to go outside and they moved us. Outside had beautiful music from an acoustic guitarist. The ambiance was pretty and decorated nicely. To me, was perfect. I had pomodoro pasta and it wasn't so great. I'm all about a good sauce and it didn't do it for me. My husband enjoyed his steak. Overall a nice evening

Food was excellent, but service was disappointing. Food delivery was slow, especially dessert. Requested a second glass of wine which was not delivered until we were done with our entrees. Server presented a rather indifferent attitude. Never checked back to see how our entrees were, and never acknowledged our birthday even though the front desk mentioned it upon arrival.

Restaurant is in a strip mall, no view of anything, but they have a nice patio area with pergola and wisteria. After dark they light fire pits for more ambiance. Food is excellent, wait staff is friendly and attentive. We had the desert sampler - so glad we did, best dessert I've ever had.

We were visiting Sedona and staying close by this restaurant. I had seen good reviews on TripAdvisor and thought it would be worth visiting. We had a late dinner on the patio on a nice Saturday evening. There was a singer/guitarist who added just the right twist to the ambiance. Our meals were very good and the service really was outstanding. I would highly recommend and would return to eat here again.

They refused to split the check for 4 couples and after that never added the gratuity! When management was confronted they said the server would be dinged for running more than one credit card, and that was their policy! In 40 years of world traveling I have never been so outraged. Unfortunately the waiteress suffered the most with no tip!! “Terrible”

Lovely restaurant with great food and wine. Lisa Dahl has created a restaurant that is the total package, good food, wine and service and a really beautiful environment. We both had the bouillabaisse Barcelona which was excellent and we finished with a deep creamy chocolate dessert that I can’t remember the name.
