It’s a beautiful Italian themed restaurant with fabulous food. The patio’s are gorgeous with beautiful lighting in the evening.
We absolutely loved the food and that’s why we visited for a second time with friends and we were less impressed with the service... the food was still great! Our server was friendly and polite but I had the complete wrong order brought out to me and the noodles were beyond soggy. After returning my meal my entire table was done eating by the time my second meal came out. After receiving the check I was charged for both items and had to ask for the soggy wrong order to be taken off. In my opinion they both should have been taken off based off the experience... To top it off all of our guests wanted their own separate checks but our waiter said he could not do that. So the waiter left it to me to do the calculations on what everyone ordered and what to charge to every card. Couldn’t he of done that for us since he took our order?? A little more attention to detail would have been nice..
Rustica Cucina is one of our favorites. Only complaint is the noise level. Otherwise, it is an excellent restaurant.
Food and atmosphere were very good and I would recommend both. Service had its shortcomings. Our server was attentive to me and completely ignored my wife. Also, our server just supplied us with the menus and the specials listing without comment, but explained both to the three tables around us and make recommendations when asked. This certainly didn't make us feel appreciated or valued.
Food was mediocre. Our nut allergic granddaughter could only eat pasta with butter and the pasta was watery from not being drained enough.
The food was very good, especially the appetizers. Highly recommend the empanadas and the flatbread.
The staff is not well trained. As you enter the restaurant and you try to close the door behind you, you are greeted by a hostess literally screaming at you “don’t close the door!!” As it is automatic but there is no sign to that effect.
We were seated after a short wait, but then it took literally 30 minutes before any food or drink arrived at our table. Then there was another 30 minute gap between the time we finished our appetizers and the main course arrived. 2.5 hrs later we left...having enjoyed good food but not feeling good about the overall experience.
Environment was laid back and cozy. Celebrated a birthday on the patio, beautiful and romantic setting with live music and the lighting was incredible. Food was great. Service was definitely lacking and slow . Overall had a good night.
We had a wonderful dinner celebrating a birthday. Dinner was delicious as was ambiance.
Everything about this evening was special. Greeted by an upbeat hostess with great smile who invited us to have a drink while our table cleared. Excellent bartender. Once seated at table we had a great dining experience capped by a guitarist playing outstanding soft background music. Definitely will return!
Normally, I would give a much higher rating. However, one of our party of four had the bistecca which was extremely hard to eat and cut because of all the fat. That was a disappointment. On the other hand, the veal piccata was excellent and so were the pastas that two of us had.
Not a place to have a good conversation in the evening. It could use some sound dampening.
Scotland was a very pleasant and knowledgeable server. He made some excellent wine and menu selections. His service was exceptional. I would definatly recommend this restaurant to others
We've been dining @ Cocina for the last ten years; its only a mile+ from our home. Always enjoyed the menu. Also dined @ the other three restaurants; however, Mariposa is a bit expensive.
Lots of Luck
We visited Cuccina Rustica for a Girl's Trip. The ambiance is wonderful. The food was not much above average, and the Arizona wine was rather disappointing, especially for the price. Our waiter really pushed the AZ wine, and it definitely did NOT measure up, especially for $58 for a bottle. I thought the rolls were rubbery, and the dipping oil was too spicy. My Lasagna was disappointing. I had to ask for water twice. Not worth the price in my opinion.
Great food and service! Excellent fresh made linguine...!
Cucina Rustica is one of our favorite places for special occasions. Fodd is excellent, staff superb. Courtyard dining is wonderul, complete with soft live guitar. Does not get much better than that!
The veal parmigiana with pasta was wonderful! Also loved the beat salad. Would be our first choice to go to in returning to Sedona. Also loved the scenery on our 20 min drive to get there!
I hate leaving bad reviews, but I was so disappointed with this experience. The restaurant is charming when you walk in, so ambiance is good, but everything else was fairly lackluster. The hostess was too busy to greet us and it took nearly 30 minutes to be seated though we had a reservation. We wanted to get a drink at the bar while we waited, but the bartenders were too busy to wait on us. Eventually we were seated and our waiter was not particularly helpful or attentive. The wine we ordered was out of stock, and after selecting an alternative, it took at least 15 minutes to bring our drinks. Food took a long time and frankly was reminiscent of the Olive Garden in appearance and quality. Very disappointing. We had a reservation for the next night at Mariposa in the same restaurant group and canceled it because we did not trust that we would have a better evening there.
Wonderful ambiance and food; Good wine list but high mark-ups. The live, background guitar player was outstanding and his presence outweighed the inadequacies of the waitress who promised the wonderful calamari would be prepared without lemon and the lemon aioli would be served on the side (one guest has lemon allergies), and then delivered the dish with a lemon on top and sliced lemon fried and mixed in the dish. We asked for a WHITE Vin Santo and she delivered us a red desert wine and insisted the bartender told her it was white Vin Santo!! Go figure. Other than that we loved the place.
We almost felt like we were back in Rome! Very pleasurable dinner.
We were quite surprised how mediocre Cucina Rustica was. We dined at the other two sister Italian restaurants in Sedona. Both of those were outstanding. Stick to the Sedona locations.
I thought the food was excellent. We were seated in a room that was off to the side and really quiet, that would be my only complaint. I think we just wanted a bit more of a lively atmosphere, which probably would have been had in the main dining room. Great service as well!
The food was fabulous and the staff were very accommodating for our large group.
Tyler was an excellent server and the food was every bit as delicious as our first visit. And it’s such a beautiful venue. This has become one of my all time favorite restaurants.
I had Bolognese sauce. It was horrible. Almost tasted minty.
Visiting Sedona, good food without a 2 hr wait hard to find. Cucina Rustica had reservations, and we enjoyed the back patio. Service was initially attentive but fell apart at the end, waiting for the check. Food was fine well prepared but relatively bland. "Decadent Gorogonzonla sauce" tasted like cream with a distant hint of gorgonzola. Veal was well cooked which is hard to do well, but overall they were trying too hard without much flavor. Truffle oil? On carpaccio? Really?
We were greeted and seated immediately. Having indicated it was date night, we were given a corner booth complete with rose petals. Our server, Tyler, gave us his full attention, was conversational and came frequently. His assistant refilled water glasses repeatedly. Food was outstanding and presented excellently. While we rarely have dessert, we indulged ourselves with the decadent tiramisu. All expectations were met and we will definitely return.
We were at Cucina Rustica on a Friday night and then lunch the next day at Mariposa, their sister restaurant. Both places deserve the highest ratings, much better than Dahl& DiLuca which we were at on Sunday night and will be reviewed separately.
Food was overpriced and not worth the money. One dish had to be sent back to be warmed up.
Our service was good and the atmosphere is wonderful but we won’t be back.
Everything was great EXCEPT for the angry bartender who other locals seem to know. Maybe he needs to tap into some good energy from the vortexes. The hostess Was very nice and she gave us a nice table in the bar area which we liked and she assigned us a great waiter who’s name I think was Juan. Will definitely be back.
Cucina rústica has a great relaxing atmosphere and fantastic dining. The food is prepared well and is not smothered in salt allowing the actual ingredients flavor to be revealed! Pasta is perfect
For those who love pasta.
38 mins after ordering our drinks they arrived - a glass of wine and a bottled beer. Then we finally got to order and the food arrived warm but not hot. The clams and pasta were ok but actually had too much lemon in the sauce.
Loved the dining experience! The service was very good, but we waited for over 20 minutes past our reservation time. We were a little unfortunate with our wine selection, with our first three choices being out of stock. (Due to Easter weekend rush?). Would definitely re-visit on our next trip to the Sedona area.
Sat outside. Lance was our waiter. Great service, food. Romantic ambiance. Loved the guitarist.
We went on a very busy Monday evening. Our open table reservation was for 7pm and we watched them seat several tables before us without reservations. The restaurant is beautiful. It took over an hour for our entree to get to us and there was a hair in my food. They took it off the bill and apologized.
Great atmosphere and food. Service was friendly. However, appetizers came before we even got our drinks. We also were never served the bread basket and when we ask for it they served it without bread plates.
This place was suggested as one of the finest restaurants around Sedona. I took my family out for my parents' 60th birthday. I had already notified the restaurant ahead of time - via Open Table, phone call, and in person.
Five of us had to wait for 1.5 hrs until food was served. My husband's and my pasta were soggy and cold. I ordered prawn pasta, ate prawns, but ended up leaving the whole pasta. I am usually not picky, so this was the first time I left that much of food.
We did not make a complaint because we were there for the celebration, and really didn't want to ruin the mood while treating our parents. No celebration or complimentary dessert offered to my parents, while table next to us was celebrating their birthday. A total waste of time.
Chicken parm was tough and cold. Table next to us sent back food twice. Atmosphere nice but did note enjoy meal. Husband’s meal was just average too. On vacation in Sedona and it was recommended as upscale but we found very average.
Why this place has 4.5 stars in Open Table is beyond me. We are here for dinner Easter Sunday and things went bad right away and never really improved. Our server arrived at our table promptly but after ordering our bottle of wine , we waited forever, asked twice about it, were told the bar was busy and then were told they were out of that bottle. We ordered another, waited again although not as long, and then the waiter broke the cork into the bottle. The time between courses was very long. The place is so crowded with tables the waiter and others have to reach across people to serve the table. While the service was very poor, probably the most disappointing part was that the Manager, who obviously new what trouble we were having because he was seen pointing at our table and talking with the staff when they were trying to find our first bottle of wine, never once stopped by to see how our dinner was or apologize. The table next to ours was also heard to complain about how long it was taking to get their dinner. We won't be back
Delicious. Amy was fantastic.
Family of four. They were fast but attentive and awesome food!
Went for Easter dinner. Great food. Great waiter
