As always the food is absolutely amazing! Do not miss the Ricotta Gnocchi, the absolute best! And of course Maria makes sure to stop by to chat with everyone. One of my most favorite Restaurants in the city.
Food was good, nothing spectacular. Lobster dish was seasoned nicely however the risotto was the worst I’ve ever had. Decor was also nothing great. Service was good.
Food was amazing!!!
Always a lovely time at Cucina Forte! As per usual, we got Maria’s homemade gnocchi as an appetizer (entree-sized so that we could have both types in both sauces - an absolute must for everyone!) and then split the tuna entree special. We love this spot any night (except closed on Mondays) and for any reason. It would be one of the saddest days ever if Cucina ever ceased to exist!
We will never go back on a night when the owner/chef is not there. The food was bland and not up to the usual standard we expect. Our guest was served cold coffee and our desert was straight out of the freezer. Our server offered to put it in the microwave.
Love this restaurant. Food is unbelievable. Service is fantastic. It is BYOB which makes it even more affordable.
The food was amazing and the staff of 3 works together beautifully & and were very helpful, fun, & on the ball with everything.
The food was good but I didn't think the menu overall was that great. The service was awesome and I love that it is byob!
As usual, our service and dinners were excellent. We even went for dessert. Love this place.
Cucina Forte is a small, understated, Authentic Italian BYOB; The food is outstanding yet reasonably priced; the Service is quick and friendly and very attentive and the atmosphere is quaint and romantic.
The homemade gnocchi were light and flavorful. The Gorgonzola sauce was just average. The gnocchi portions were a bit small for the price. We’ve dined there a few times and were not impressed on this visit.
Food was good, I felt sort of rushed the entire time. Different people kept coming over every few minutes to ask if we were done. Otherwise, overall good, and will go again
We've been to Cucina Forte several times and the food is reliably good. Gnocci, for which they are famous was standout. My only critique is related to seating and noise. It was a Sunday night and the restaurant was virtually empty, except for a table of 4 that left shortly after we arrived. Nevertheless, our party of 6 was squished into a table in the back of the restaurant, up against the server station, and next to to the doorway to the restrooms and the kitchen. This made it challenging to get in and out of our chairs and resulted in us having to talk over the gossiping servers standing at the station behind us.
Food was great. Typical south philly joint. Small place and a touch crowded , but great meal.
Food was amazing and we had Greg as our server he was amazing
Hidden gem in South Philly
Enjoyed a lovely dinner. Staff was very friendly and helpful without being overbearing. We loved the atmosphere and the food was delicious and delivered promptly. Such a great experience.
We went for Valentine’s Day dinner. It had been highly recommended so it had been on our list for a while and we were not disappointed. Everything is home made and it shows. We shared 2 appetizers, each had an entree and shared desert. The bill came to under $100 and it was good value. Italian BYOs are our go to restaurant type and we put Cucina Forte near the top of our list.
Great service, great food, love the owner, home cooked Italian, great price (Says $30-$50 on open table but actually $15-$35)
Incredible gnoccis, great veal, friendly service, good value
Excellent food. Sketchy service. Very loud atmosphere. But worth the minor inconvenience for the great food
The famous gnocchi always steal the show. Delicious.
spoke to the entire staff at cucina forte and left feeling like i made so many good friends feels like the old neighborhood feeling
Gnocchi was good. Different, but good. Meals weren’t terrible, but they weren’t good. Below mediocre. Food quality was poor and didn’t warrant the prices. Staff was very friendly and attentive. It’s small in there, therefore it tends to be very loud. I probably wouldn’t go back.
Wonderful service. The restaurant is quite loud. The menu was very god. Excellent grilled and fried calamari. Always great pasta!
Known for their homemade gnocchi and they do not disappoint.
Our favorite Italian food in the city and the best gnocchi in the world!!!
Went for girls night out (6 of us) and had a great night! Cozy, dimly lit and not too loud. Service was excellent, food was great! Would definitely go back again!
Food was amazing. Service was excellent, never felt rushed!
<3 come again!
A fav. Restraurant for so many reasons. Have been going on Christmas for several years. Easter also have been and return a gain!!!
Love love love Cucina Forte! The food is incredible and the staff make you feel like family!!
The food and service were outstanding. Very small - reservations are recommended- but a warm and friendly atmosphere.
Food is delicious and service is excellent. The specials here are always the best!!
Came here with my family, that includes two toddler children, and enjoyed our meal after seeing the lights on 13th street. The restaurant is a great BYO option for good Italian food in South Philly. I would definitely come here again with my family, on the earlier side, as it is a place to enjoy a nice meal with our kids.
Food is always superb. Gnocchis are fabulous.
Glad you enjoyed!
We have been going to Marie's Cucina Forte since they opened. Never have been disappointed.
Cuchina Forte is a real gem. The food was so delicious, and the fabled Maria’s gnocchi Was as light as a fluffy cloud. Do try the appetizer gnocchi sampler, you will not be disappointed. A few of us tried the special that night. Tenderloin topped with crab and Gorgonzola... very special. Also their Veal Saltimboca was a real treat with lovely sides. We were a party of 8 and were served by Greg and another waitress. They were both lovely and anticipated our every need. Looking forward to returning. Thank you to all for a lovely meal and evening.
I can't review this restaurant, my reservation having been canceled by the establishment the morning of and with no explanation.
They either had a very bad day or other reviews are paid for: grilled octopus came out cold and undercooked, was quickly replaced though. In general pasta was bland and with boring flavors and generic sauces. When asking for pepper we got red pepper flakes...duh. At the end it took a few follow ups to get the check. Pasta with clams had sand in it (clams not cleaned well). Overall a very poor experience and not memorable at all.
We arrived with high expectations and were very disappointed.
Seating was much too close, every time a servicer had to get to the tables on the other side of our table they bumped into my husband, with no "excuse me or apology". One of the waitresses must have just come from yoga and was dressed in her workout attire. Food was fair at best and service was slow. After dinner we ordered capachinos the waiter returned and said the capachino machine was broken and would coffee do. The dessert and coffee arrived and the tiaramisu was frozen solid, when I asked the waiter about the frozen confection he said he didn't know he wasn't Italian.
When my husband added cream to his coffee it poured out in chunks (OMG), when we finally saw the server again the replacement cream curdled in my coffee.
Would not recommend Cuchina Forte to anyone, ever.
