CUCINA enoteca - Irvine Ratings and Reviews
The front desk girl (who takes your name) sucked!!!!!!!! She was rude and could have cared less. She made us wait 1hr for a very empty restaurant. I decided to bypass her and made reservations on Opentable and got seated in 30 minutes. Clearly they had spots open.
On recommendation from "local's" while in Newport Beach for a Holiday party, we walked over to Fashion Island (a wonderful destination in itself) to have our dinner meal. So deceiving from the outside and not even sure where the entrance was, but how unique! You enter through their wine store with the cutest and creative friendly labeling system ever! The best news..all reasonably priced with under a $10 corkage charge if you decide to enjoy your selection with your meal. Not an extensive menu which was a gift to us...don't like too many choices, AND what was there (about 6 in each section) was a culinary treat! So creative, HEALTHY and filling at the same time! You can't go wrong! Inside it's just an energy filled room, with cozy chairs and friendly and PROFESSIONAL wait staff! Yea!! Value, Taste, Unique, Friendly, Energy = WINNER
Went to celebrate birthday dinner with friends that had not dined here before. We’ve been about 10 Times. Arrived early, had cocktails/appetizers. Stuffed flower blossoms were oily. Buratta ok, but too cold. Ordered a rare wine. Ordered salads and entree’s. The salads were lacking. Dry massaged kale. Sent them back. My lasagna was very good. The chicken a bit dry. The salmon was over cooked. As more folks arrived the service depreciated. There was a power outage. Lasted a long time. We asked for our bill. Was $360 for four. Gave our Amex card. Waited and waited. Our service person informed us that due to the power outage they could not process payment. That we would have to wait. I explained I needed to leave. The waitress apologized which was appreciated but why should we have to wait out a power failure? So, we paid with cash.
I feel management should have compt something for the inconvenience.
This is the second time I’ve been here in a month and the service was still not good. Took awhile to be waited on and then had to repeat myself twice for olive oil to be delivered. We were offered no Parmesan cheese with our meal and I had to request that as well.
The restaurant is very warm if you aren’t sitting outside. I’m always cold but it was way to be warm in there and it made it uncomfortable. There is no air circulation at all. Poor wait staff must have been boiling!
Food is good and our server was very nice but needed to be a bit more attractive. Last time we were practically ignored so this was somewhat better.
This restaurant's is definitely not boring, offering vibrant flavors and tangy sauces. Nothing is bland or boring. My husband loves the short rib pasta dish. The brussel sprouts are to die for. I was disappointed that they took the ravioli with mushrooms that I enjoyed a couple years ago.
Everything was great. Food, service, ambiance. Reservations at 8:30 on a Saturday night were not really necessary. Some event was happening outside the restaurant that caused a little extra noise, but was hardly bothersome even though we were seated on the patio.
This is a terrific restaurant. it's fun and it's friendly and in many ways it's classy like a New York trendy restaurant. The young man who was on the front desk nade us feel welcome from the moment we walked in on Saturday afternoon Sept 23. And his attitude started us out an a great afternoon Birthday party. We'll be back.
This is a favorite of mine and normally pretty darn good. This time everything was off. The burratta was mediocre, the roasted garlic was hard and cold as if it was delivered straight from the fridge. We sent the garlic back and the next round wasn't any better. The pizza was alright but not it's normal self either. The service was a bit lacking and found out that they charge to refill a lemon aid. Seriously? When a meal for two is easily $50, your going nickel and dime me on lemonade? I will give this place another shot but this last time left a bad taste.
A disappointment for sure! The server was GREAT, but the food was so so, the gluten free crackers were beyond salty, the seating against the bench was uncomfortable and there was no recognition of the birthday we were celebrating even though it was part of the reservation on "open table". There were 4 of us and no one was impressed. We would not return.
We made a reservation for Saturday lunch and visited this restaurant with our guests. The restaurant has a great atmosphere- tables and all the decorations are all exotic and pretty. Inside the restaurant was very calming and it was unbelievable that we were in the site of the crowded and noisy spectrum.
We had some antipasti first- burrata + prosciutto 'caprese' and smoked chicken salad, which were good, not very excellent, though. And, then, pizza margherita , shrimp spaghetti, meatball spaghetti were served.
What was disappointing was spaghetti, which was not al dente. OMG! Pizza was ok but the crust was thicker than we expected. we like thin crust. So, I would say the overall impression of the food was mediocre... not very excellent.
We paid nearly $200 total, including dessert (ice cream) and drinks and tip
Now, I am not sure if the food there is worth the price. The atmosphere and location is definitely nice, but I think I would go to Cheesecake factory or California pizza kitchen for same type of food.
There were 6 of us for a birthday dinner. We started with the chicken liver vasi and the fava bean vase. Both were very good. We had the chopped salad family style and it was way more than enough for 6 people. We shared the paparadelle with short rib ragu which was excellent. For entrees we had the chicken, salmon and the mixed grill. Everything was delicious. Our server, Susie, was excellent. We will be returning!
