CUCINA enoteca is centrally located in the Irvine Spectrum! Owner Tracy Borkum's flair for combining great ambience, award-winning cuisine and unparalleled service are once again starring components in this latest Urban Kitchen Group creation. Executive Chef Joe Magnanelli and Chef de Cuisine Tony Trujillo bring their artistry to the table as guests enjoy an open kitchen. The menu features Italian classics with a modern twist, made with the freshest local, organic and sustainable ingredients. Along with a diverse selection of wines by the glass, guests may visit the restaurant's retail area to select from over 200 bottles for dinner (corkage fee of $9 applies) or purchase wine to go. The energetic space features contemporary elements and vintage artifacts creating the feel of a modern Italian kitchen combined with the comfort of an old rustic farmhouse.

Terrific branzino (zero bones), great chopped salad and don't miss the brussels sprouts. Service was spot on and reservation honored at time requested.

The good - asked for a seat away from crowds in order for my 80-year-old Dad could hear better, without seating outside, they did find a decent location.
The good - burrata and roasted garlic appetizer was good, the beet salad was good size and tasty.
The good - the malted milk budino and nutrella bombolini dessert were delicious.
The good - server Kevin enthusiastic and did keep his word with pacing the appetizer, salad and main course.
The negative - linguini and clams, dad placed his fork to the pasta and he was able to lift a big blob of pasta. This is an Italian restaurant, cooking pasta should be their thing. Was also salty. There was however, plenty of clams. Parppadelle pasta was chewy; however, dish did have flavor.
The negative - the servers who brought out the food weren't on their game. They brought out appetizers but gave us no dishes. Not sure how the waiter relays to these food servers who gets what dish but salad and main dishes were given to the wrong person, not a big deal to pass to the right person, but if they just said who gets the beet salad instead of assuming and placing in front of the wrong person would have been better. Main dishes for 4 people were not brought out together and then one was wrong but another server brought the right one in seconds, seems mixed up tables.
The negative - so for appetizer we didn't get plates (until we asked) but for dessert we each ordered one, did not mention anything about sharing and they brought 4 plates before the desserts, now the desserts come out on their plates... so we stacked the plates in order to put the dessert plate in front of each person to enjoy. Odd.

Mu daughter and i had the new dish- lamb ravioli. It was just okay and we do not like the new dishes with the rim.

Food is amazing. Love the ambiance and background. The music on sundays were amazing and we had a great wait staff. Everyone enjoyed the food.

I specifically left instructions that it was a birthday celebration and that i wanted to be seated side by side but neither of those were brought up. We were seated in the darkest corner of the patio. Our food was alright but our risotto was lukewarm, barely warm. It was a busy night so we didnt complain but i might consider going elsewhere for a birthday.

My family and I dine at Cucina Enoteca all the time. However, I was extremely disappointed this past Friday in not only the service, but the food. I wrote on my reservation AND told the hostess that we were celebrating a birthday. We spent over $300 and couldn't even get a scoop of ice cream with a candle. I also made my reservation weeks in advance and requested to be seated inside, but that request also went ignored. Won't be going back to Cucina any time soon.

I’ve always loved this Cucina Enoteca for yummy and fresh Italian food. This visit was enjoyable. We were running behind and called to let them know and they happily accommodated us. Server was friendly and attentive. We had the burrata as a starter, which I usually love, but this time the bread didn’t seem fresh and either did the burrata. It wasn’t terrible, but on other visits it was very fresh. We both had pasta, which never disappoints. I asked for a wine recommendation and the server was knowledgeable and helpful. Also followed up to see that I was pleased with the choice. We were in a bit of a hurry because we were off to a movie afterwards and they got our bill sorted quickly. Overall a great experience. A better burrata would have made for an excellent experience.

My husband and I enjoy Cucina Enoteca for the food and also the service. Brandon, our waiter, was wonderful. The food was absolutely fantastic! My husband had the Lasagna and I had a special, Pork Shank with polenta and apples and arugula (out of this world!!!!!!!!). We always enjoy our meals here and have yet to have a bad service experience. Great cocktails, pizza (bring back the arugula, pear gorgonzola) appetizers and entrees. Worth every penny!

This is our 3rd or 4th time visiting Cucina Enoteca and will most likely be our last visit. We keep hoping that the food and service will improve, but that just isn't happening. My wife had the fig pizza which was far too sweet and soggy. I had the chopped salad which was at best ordinary and our guest had the short rib pappardelle which was fatty and greasy. Since I have had the pappardelle previously I warned our guest that my experience was that the short rib was very fatty and grisly, but she had read that this was their signature pasta. She was very disappointed. Regarding the poor service, I find that restaurants that use the "team" method of serving usually disappoint. Seems like no one really takes responsibility for the service after the "lead" server takes the order. Took 15 minutes to get cheese for the pasta.

GREAT salmon dish!!! What a surprise. Dined here before and it was unremarkable but this time they got it right.
