Always a great experience, just think that it's very tacky that when the server suggests that a bottle of wine is more economical then by the glass, then with out telling you they tack on a corkage fee??? Very tacky.
delish mushroom pizza! Always good! Burrata salad with arugula and prosciutto, also a hit!
Great atmosphere, great food just right👌
Good, casual atmosphere. Can be loud. Menu can seem limited after visiting a number of times. Good wine list.
What a delight - I met a friend halfway for lunch and took a chance on a restaurant neither of us had visited before. The ambiance, service, selection and food at Cucina Enoteca could not have been better. I will definitely make it a point to be back! The fig pizza, beet salad and bottomless mimosas were perfect. Enjoy!
Excellent as always. Fit for foodies. Everything is nuanced and "special."
Excellent food and great wine list!
What happened to the previously great stuffed squash blossoms?? They have been on the menu from day one at Cucina Urbana and Enoteca. They used to be primarily squash blossoms, now they are small zucchini with a microscopic blossom attached. There is nothing to stuff so you essentially pay top $$ for one of the cheapest foods one can buy, zucchini. 4 baby zucchini cost our table $14.00!!! This has happened 2x in a row. These would be $4.00 even at Chino's, where they are readily available. There is almost no ricotta filling as there is no blossom. The chef must think no one notices but we do! This is only 1 example of this restaurants continual decline in the quality of the food. It used to be hard to get a reservation but now you can walk in almost anytime. There is a reason.
The food is really good! We had a pizza to share that was almost as good as being in Italy. The risotto was delicious as was the daily sugo over polenta. Lovely service. Only disappointment was that we told the hosts that we were celebrating a birthday but the message didn't get to the waitstaff so no special moment there. Too bad, because the place is pricey and we were there specifically to celebrate.
The food at this place is always good. Service is superb.
it was not my first time to this place but food was not the same at all, and I was asking for extra mushroom and waitress completely forgot! so I dont recommend my this time visit! but last 3 years i wend was fantastic! i hope they dont loos their quality!!!
One of my favorite places to eat in SD, but I wouldn't recommend this place for a date night since the tables are jammed right next to each other.
We met a co-worker who happened to be in town for vacation. The front desk staff leaves much to be desired. There were three people up front, one young man with glasses who never did acknowledge our presence, a young women who was obviously new and a more senior young woman who was on the phone. We were the only people waiting to speak to the staff up front. The more senior young woman was on the phone and the other two did not acknowledge our presence. We had a reservation, so we waited patiently as they do have a pretty good wine selection at the entry point to glance through. Once the phone was hung up, the young lady smiled and assisted us. We were seated at a nice table. Our waitress was outstanding! She was attentive and answered questions, took our order and let us visit. She even joked with us when one of the folks at our table spilled a glass of wine. The food was outstanding. We ordered two pizza's, two salads and rigatoni! The restaurant itself is really well decorated, modern and warm at the same time. Our waitress was awesome, the wine was good and the food was great! It's a little loud and the front desk staff leaves some to be desired...but the wait service and the food far out weights any negative. Eat here! You will not regret it!
The grilled octopus was fantastic! The desserts, extraordinary. The service, awesome!
Best restaurant in Del Mar. Creative menu especially for a vegetarian. Wonderful wine list. A really happening place.
Mushroom pizza was delicious. Arugula salad with prosciutto, tomatoes and burrata was wonderful.
It has been better - we had to wait a long time for our reserved table and no where to sit down to wait - we were a small group but the plates/food came out very far apart so was awkward and getting cold ...very loud and tough to have a conversation - food was not up to par ... we go to Cucina A LOT ...but i was disappointed in front of my friends .
Terrific food, loved it. Kinda noisy, hard to carry on a conversation in the evening though.
Every time we eat at Cucina Enoteca, the experience is less than wonderful. The ambience is awful and the noise level is through the roof! After each time we say NEVER AGAIN! Well, we tried it again yesterday... Not sure why. The noise was only 3/4 as bad as usual, but of course it was only the lunch crowd. And the food was delicious. We each had a pizza and they were both yummy. Guess that's why we keep going back. But don't expect a relaxing experience. Hurry up, eat and get the heck out of there!
My daughter came for a visit and I wanted to treat her to s lovely lunch. My daughter had been there before and loved the decor. She ordered the beet and avocado salad and practically licked her plate. It contained all her favorites. It's become our venue whenever she visits.
Everything was great except that we couldn't hear ourselves talk. Extremely noisy. Food and service wonderful.
Very noisy. Food was good but expensive. Wine and martinis were more than comparable restaurants. Parking poor needed valet which added $10 to the evening total.
Outstanding as usual. Our server was attentive but allowed us to conduct our business uninterrupted. Food is always top notch. Thanks for being a go to in north SD county.
Nice place and we used to like it a lot. Food just wasn't that great and portions are small. Had a beet salad that had very hard soybeans (I think). Felt like you could chip a tooth on then. Ruined the salad. Cost nearly $90 for 2 very small buttered pastas and 2 beet salad with a side of protein. The restaurant was slow, and the service was even slower. I think the server we had was half out the door, she just wasn't into it.
I live in Temecula but a friend bought me a GC for my birthday and said it would be worth the drive and it definitely was! Best meal I've had at a restaurant in awhile. Very impressed with everything!
I love Cucina Encota and have never had a bad meal there. Our waiter was a little overbearing at times with his constant appearance at our table which made it difficult for us to converse, but other than that, will go back for the food ...
Delicious. The Rigatoni Bolognese is one of the best things I've ever eaten. Cucina Enoteca is spectacular every time. From the extensive wine list, to the crafted cocktails and scrumptious menu, there is something for everyone. Every day is a good day to eat at Cucina Enoteca.
Great food, on par with the flagship cucina urbana, though a little weak on the desserts. Classic cucina dishes are present on the menu and pasta is superb. Restaurant week offerings start at $30 for three courses but that includes only pizzas as the main. Additional options are available at higher price points. Service was attentive, though diffusion of responsibility among all the servers slowed things down a bit. Modern decor with original touches. Don't know about shoe inserts hanging over tables and people's food though...
Fit for foodies. First really good Del Mar restaurant.
Great menu and food. Service a little slow, but overall a great time.
We have been to Cucina Enoteca twice during our 2 nights stay in San Diego. Very good food, desserts rock! Everything is great but The noisy atmosphere..
This venue is feels so much more open than the original Cucina Urbana. That combined with the excellent food and a very good wine list at quite reasonable prices (2013 Hall Napa cebernet for $40!) makes Cucina Enoteca an easy strong recommendation!
Great restaurant/ great service . Wait staff very friendly an accommodating. Food delicious - short rib- mmm! Desserts are amazing!
The NOISE level is obnoxious throughout the restaurant. The cliental behavior is very clamerous. Will NEVER return. Only for single, loud individauls under age 40. Not worth the heart burn.
It was freezing in the dining room. More than one person asked to move. Other than that, the food and service were great.
Everything was really good. Great Wine list and service.
We initially sat in the middle of the downstairs dining room and it was so loud, that we couldn't hear each other across the table.
Always impeccable service and food!
Rachel was a most excellent server and had great information and input for us. Everything we ordered was delicious and we love the ambiance and hope to come back for date night again and maybe the Sunday brunch!
Food very good, but we really miss the kale salad. Cocktails quite overpriced. We have been to Cucina Urbana and Cucina Enoteca countless times. the servers are always friendly and professional. However this evening our server was just awful. He (long sandy hair, 40ish) looked bored, distracted, and very uninterested in his job. There were 2 couples and one 7 mo. old infant in our party. The baby was very quiet during the entire dinner so she did not disrupt anything, but maybe he did did not like a baby there?? Not sure, just guessing. A server can make or break a good meal. We were treating out of town guests to our highly touted dining choice and he caused a damper on the evening with his bored, dour attitude. More cheerful servers please!
