Cucina Enoteca - Del Mar Ratings and Reviews
Expensive, $70 per person for dinner with two glasses of moderately priced wine each. Food was a mixed bag. Broccoli appetizer was great. Calamari appetizer was lukewarm and somewhat bland. Snapper entrée was delicious but hard to eat -- weird to be using fingers in pricey restaurant. Shrimp entrée was bland and lukewarm. So this is becoming a "beautiful people" place more than a great dining experience, and I give it another year before the "beautiful people" go somewhere else. Like RIP Searsucker!
Appetizers were decent, but main course was very bland. Steamed bass was very overcooked and had absolutely no flavor. Pappardelle had very little seasoning and was tough and rubbery. The short ribs in it were also bland. Overall, I was disappointed and would definitely not recommend this place.
Everything was outstanding! Our server, Frederico was attentive, fun and informative. Every bit of food was outstanding. The ambiance is lively and fun. A little noisy but not too much. Our table of four over 55’s were able to carry a conversation just fine. We’ll be back!
Always a pleasurable experience at Cucina Enoteca. We met another couple and had a festive pre-holiday get together. Ou r server made sure to chill our bottles of wine , just in case we
We reside in Texas, but immediately want to return each visit to Carlsbad!! Keep up the great job.
Hot bar scene & very busy. It is so noisy that it is difficult to speak with those with whom you are dining. The food was very salty & service fair. We arrived at 5:30 yet didn't receive our dinner until 7 pm. Disappointing since it used to be our favorite spot.
I usually love this place but this time our waiter was busy with a table of cute girls. Our pastas were brought to the table before the appetizers. When the waiter noticed he sent them back to the kitchen. I think they landed under a heat lamp. When they were returned to us, they were dry and the pasta was over cooked. The waiter sent over dessert and bubbly to make up for it. The pastas should have been remade. There is no excuse for this mistake. Pasta is not expensive.
I enjoy this restaurant but service varies. Last time, our service was fantastic. I asked for vegan suggestions and I had so many recommendations, I had a hard time deciding. This time, our waiter suggested one thing- pasta with veggies (not on the menu). I asked him about a couple of things on the menu that looked obvious- he didn’t know but would check. They were vegan fand that’s what I had.
I started going here with friends because it is vegan friendly, but that appears to vary with the waiters.
I have dined here before, and it ha been okay, but we were served food that was cold and it had to be sent back. They remade the pizza and most likely just heated up the pasta dish and meatball. The diner who ordered the salmon had no problem with food temperature.
The manager was very nice and came to our table with the offer of complimentary desserts but we declined. i think they should have taken the price of an entree off our bill for the inconvenience.
AlsoI think it would be a better choice on a week night as it was extremely busy and very noisy on Friday night.
