Cucina Enoteca - Del Mar Ratings and Reviews
The service was awful. Management pathetic. Pizza redone twice in over an hour. Both times undercooked and soggy. Pasta like mashed potatoes. Gross. Incredibly disappointed. As records will show, I have been a good , consistent customer since restaurant opened.
Went to Cucina enoteca for restaurant week with a group of friends. The place was very busy and loud. We got the squash blossoms and calamari in tomato sauce. There were only 2 squash blossoms in the appetizer. For Entrees we got the short rib pappardelle and steak. The steak was ordered medium, but turned out medium-well and the edges were burnt hard and difficult to chew. I do not recommend the steak here, there are other unique options. The lemon appetizer was delicious, but a very small portion.
Expensive, $70 per person for dinner with two glasses of moderately priced wine each. Food was a mixed bag. Broccoli appetizer was great. Calamari appetizer was lukewarm and somewhat bland. Snapper entrée was delicious but hard to eat -- weird to be using fingers in pricey restaurant. Shrimp entrée was bland and lukewarm. So this is becoming a "beautiful people" place more than a great dining experience, and I give it another year before the "beautiful people" go somewhere else. Like RIP Searsucker!
Appetizers were decent, but main course was very bland. Steamed bass was very overcooked and had absolutely no flavor. Pappardelle had very little seasoning and was tough and rubbery. The short ribs in it were also bland. Overall, I was disappointed and would definitely not recommend this place.
