We had another great meal at Cucina Calandra. Our meals were delicious, as always. The couple who dined with us were very impressed. The service was excellent until we completed our entrees...our waiter was involved with a large group and we had to flag someone down to get coffee and dessert, and then to get our check.
Food was delicious as usual. Had a slight issue with one order that was immediately and graciously handled. Unfortunately seated next to the kitchen and near two very large (12+) groups, so conversation at our table was challenging. All in all a nice evening.
Nice quiet atmosphere. Food was vey good. They make great pasta dishes. Attentive service staff. Love that they give a loaf of their bread to customers as they leave.
Great, delicious food. Excellent service.
Thank you Michael for your hospitality and good luck in your new position.
Loved it and we will return with the family. It was a nice place for a date night but would love to try the pizza making with the family.
I don’t often review restaurants, but when the experience merits a mention I find it inappropriate to fail giving credit where it’s due. Do yourself a favor and find the means to give it a visit. Especially if you have kids. They showed some class in dealing with ours — they baked pizza to look like Minnie Mouse. We were skeptical because the restaurant is attached to a Best Western, but when you walk into the building you immediately forget that fact. Great ambiance. All varieties of food were in excellent. We (the 3 adults) each shared our choices and agreed; the filet minion, the clams, and the gnocchi — all spectacular. Even the pizza for the kids — made in a brick oven which I assume is for specialty pizzas because you don’t order the pizza from the server. Instead you order directly from the baker.
Good food at reasonable prices and kid friendly. My granddaughter just loves the whole pizza experience with Chef Henry.
Our meal was good we arrived at 830 and actually asked continuous to order. We just wanted to sip some wine and talk then order. The workers were moving tables and chairs around you and actually at 1030 asked us to move to bar area.Lol incredible
Went for dinner with childhood friends recently. Food was delicious, service was excellent.
They didn't bother us at all when we lingered to talk.
And we went on half price pasta and half price bottled wine night so it was a winner all around!
Stuffed artichoke was wonderful, minus a few anchovies
Absolutely delicious. Wonderful service and we will make Cucina Calandra our favorite.
Awesome as always!!!
Pizza station is awesome for kids. The service was slow and not enough help with clearing plates, refilling drinks, etc.
We had an amazing dinner and a huge bonus was my daughter had dinner for free because she is under 3 years old. Fantastic cheese bread and all around great service!
Nice food! Pleasant staff even seated us early. Fresh baked bread with cheese folded in was delicious as an opener. Stuffed artichoke was below average. Chicken dish was awesome. We were hoping for the 30 layer lasagna but it wasn't available this night.
Have eaten here many times, the food is always excellent and is a great value. The bread with cheese is fantastic.
I have been going to Calandra's Restaurants for many years and have never had a bad experience. The food , wine and service are always top notch! And the bread is to die for...
This was our 2nd time here since early January. The first visit was excellent for the service, to accommodating us with a table in the main room, to outstanding food. This past visit on Feb 10 - the online reservation was easy to use and our table was ready as soon as we arrived. The hostess and our waitress were very friendly and attentive. Our drinks and bread came out in reasonable time. Our waitress apologized for the wait saying the bar was backed up. It was not a big deal. The apps came out in reasonable time and were excellent. The negative came with the hour wait for our main course. Again, our waitress was very nice and apologized twice for the delay stating the kitchen was backed up. When the food did come out at 8:40 , they brought the wrong dish out for my wife so we waited another 1-2 minutes for the correct dish. The main courses were okay. My Spaghetti with Arugula & Dates special was very thick and heavy. The Veal Rolletini was okay. The spaghetti with sea food was very good. I would have thought with the long wait & inconvenience with the main course that a comp of some type, like knocking off the drinks or one of the apps would have been offered, but this was not the case. We will try it a third time as our first visit was excellent and the staff was nice.
Ok not great. Doubtful I’d ever go back.
Food was very good although a bit over priced I thought. Best part was the cheesy warm bread they give you as soon as you sit down! and they keep it coming if you keep eating it! :)
Waiter was not good. Food came out scatter and incorrect
First time visiting this restaurant and have been meaning to go there for so many years. It was excellent. Took the family with three kids and my parents who also had never been. Amazing menu and so many daily specials. Everyone loved the food! Our sever did end up being assigned to a party of 20. Luckily our order was put in before they arrived but the dessert portion of meal slowed down and had to flag the waiter down a couple of times to ask on status. Almost done with coffee before dessert finally arrived. Not a big deal as not in a rush. Will go back and certainly recommend.
Our food was very delicious and tasteful. The amazing garlic cheese bread you receive while waiting for you food was so good. I decided on the special which was the Lobster Raviolis which was in a vodka with asparagus and baby shrimp. My mom decided on the clams over linguini in a white sauce and in which case they served the her with regular pasta noodles instead of linguini. She still enjoyed her meal because it tasted great but prefers linguini. Our waiter was very pleasant and knowledgable of the menu.
My first time and I enjoyed the restaurant and food. I was not told my party had arrived and were already seated so I waited for them past my reservation time. Finally, my friends came out to get me. Although I indicated under comments in the "open table" reservation it was my 42 anniversary there was no acknowledgment by the restaurant. Service was good however. I thought the food was better then their sister restaurant Il Vechchio Cafe.
Always, and I mean always fresh and delicious tasting food!! Great service.
This is a very nice family-friendly place. In addition to offering a kids menu, they have a spot where kids can watch the chef make their pizzas. Plus they offer kids a piece of dough to hold onto which for my kids love for some reason.
The bread they bring to the table has melted cheese inside it and is outstanding. Our waitress was very friendly and all of the food was excellent.
Our family went to Cucina Calandra for dinner. Great service, great food. After I paid our bill, our server came over and had asked if his service was ok. We said absolutely and he thanked us. When I looked at my receipt copy, I realized that I had only tipped him 10%. I went to him and made up the difference and apologized for the error. What I liked is that he did not come over and tell us he was under tipped. If I had not approached him, he would have accepted what he got. That was impressive!
Greatly enjoyed the food. Was surprised by the delicious sangria. Groceries were very large. Got to have it for lunch the next day. Definitely will go back again great value great food. Don’t forget to take a loaf of free bread on your way out it’s in a big barrel
6 of us for a friend's birthday. It was very good. We will be back.
Dinner with my parents and the wife. We all thought everything was great although my parents claim to have felt rushed. I didn’t think so. Had the mahi mahi. I thought it was excellent. Will be back.
Always good. The menu is much smaller than it used to be - seafood selection could be broader. Very good, local place
This place was very classy and the service was very good. The food was above average and the wine was very good for the price. Overall it was a quite positive experience.
Way overpriced. $25 for a simple bowl of pasta is way too much for a local italian restaurant
We always have great food and great service! The rigatoni a la NORMA never disappoints. We love the hot bread with mozzarella cheese and the salad was fresh and crisp.
Love the fig and prosciutto flatbread!
The meal was underwhelming. The calamari was rubbery and there were no spices in the Fra Diavolo. We could not get out server's attention to take our bill when it was time to leave.
Always fresh and delicious tasting food!! Great service.
This is not our first time at Cucina Calandra. We've been here several times and always enjoyed our meal. The service was well timed and the staff very pleasant and attentive. All in all a great experience. Will definitely be back!
Amazing place with amazing food. Yummy Start to finish
Always consistent! Excellent Pasta! Best in the area! We are rugulars and always enjoy our meal at Cucina!
