Always a great meal and service excellant
so we have been going for years here. Only going in lounge to eat with entertainment. HAPPY hour was always great music and Staff.
We miss terribly that staff Nicole Christian and Rebecca who always made patrons feel welcomed and like friends. Since covid we have gone many times for dinner in the tent. They had the BEST protocol in the tri-state. We went at time alone and many times with friends...always great with e every measure. Last nite NOT. Just the opposite something has drastically changed.
Staff sparse and weak. Forgot Ceasars Salad for four. Delivered entrees cool and chicken dishes tough...also some items on menu not available and prices slightly raised. We trust they can get back to the Covid times of ambiance food and services.
Always amazing food!!!
FYI we were seated in a lounge, not in the actual restaurant area, some live music was going on, actually quite enjoyable "one man's band". The food was really tasty and plentiful. Zero dress code so anything goes, not an upscale or anywhere near it. Price wise reasonable since food was good. Service not very attentive. The waitress was sweet but didn't come too often, we ordered a bottle of wine, no-one bothered to refill our glasses when empty. We had to ask bus boys to have empty plates removed from our table and request clean utensils for the next course. Overall food was good and portions generous but probably we will not be going back. Price tag dinner for two (appetizer, entree, dessert and bottle of wine) $150 plus gratuity.
Never a bad meal! Nice to see familiar faces back. It’s our favorite family restaurant. Something for all of our picky appetites.
Great food. Even made sub for another sauce I wanted. Service was great. Tables far apart for safety. Option of indoor and outdoor dining. Loved it overall.
Ordered the Clams appetizer and the Brocali Rabe and Sausage appetizer. Both were delicious. A lot of food but very good. We both ordered the Pork Chop on the menu and it was a little spicy for me but very good. Pork Chop was tender and the peppers were also very tasty, Would recommend as always,
We had a lovely evening there last night. They had music in the tent, and they were amazing. The atmosphere was so nice. The food was excellent! Delicious and great portions. We haven't been able to find someplace that makes good seafood dishes, where you actually get a lot of shellfish! Incredible! We will be back..and the cocktails were delish!!!
Good food...inattentive service. Staff seemed to be having some organizational problems.
Very pleasant and clean! The servers are all very nice!
Nice atmosphere, nice tent. Service was good if not extremely polished. Food was very good. I would definitely return and recommend it to my friends.
Great service, delicious food & beautiful ambiance.
It was my daughter’s graduation. my family and I had a very nice evening.
I would recommend Cucina Calandra to anyone!!
Enjoyed dinner very much, but upon receiving the check, I noticed that the tip was included. Your servers should tell customers that’s the case. On Friday, June 11th, I had dinner with my family at Calandra’s and left a $50 tip in addition to the tip that I was unaware was included on the check. The waiter should have pointed out my oversight instead of reaping the benefit of my unawareness . Extremely unethical! The waiter got s$100 tip on a $200 check. I plan on sharing my unfortunate experience on social media. Despicable!
Great Fathers Day dinner!!! Enjoyed the evening, food and service were both delightful. Can’t wait to go back!!!
Father’s Day dinner in the lounge with 7 people. It was great as always.
The food was great but the staff not very friendly.
We went for our sons graduation celebration we were so excited to be there we ordered our appetizers that were awesome then my son’s ordered the pizza let’s just say the pizza guy working at the time was NO chef Henry he was so rude and unprofessional we took our dinner home so disappointed.
The arancini were had soured. They were removed from the invoice; however, it was 50% off Pasta Night. Discount should have been $48.00 - but only $40,00 was taken off - I believe to offset the remove of the arancini.
The main dishes themselves were fine but the meatball app was disappointing and the rice balls were had soured.
Everything was enjoyable.
Nice atmosphere. Service was good and timely. My husband and I both enjoyed our dinners, but a little pricey for a casual dinner.
Bit pricey. No salad included with $25 chicken entrees. Also including 20% tip on all checks.
Went on a Friday night. Food was amazing! However we were expecting the fresh cooked pasta in the flaming cheese wheel since it was advertised to be available on Thursdays and Fridays.
The live music was a nice touch but it was way to loud in my opinion. I had to scream across the table for my date to hear me.
Food was excellent, service as well.
I enjoy all Calandras locations food, this one has the best service. Just be careful because the prices are a little high and the 20 percent gratuity was included in the bill so it was close to 300 for family.of 4 and all.my son ate was french fries. Yes my husband and I had 2 drinks each but drink prices were reasonable it was the food which is a little high. Overall excellent as always with Calanadras and we will.return.
I'll start with the hostess. We had a 730 reservation. When we got there she asked inside or outside of which I replied inside. She then proceeded to tell me she had nothing inside. I suggested that on open table it should specify inside or out like many other restaurants. She then tells me they are so busy it's first come first serve, why have reservations. She then told us if we wanted inside we would have to wait until a table had dessert. She was rude, aloof and basically couldn't be bothered but eventually we ended up outside. After being seated we waited around 10 minutes before our waiter even acknowledged us. When I asked if he was our waiter he said yes and walked away. After another 5 minutes he came back and asked us if we wanted to start with appetizers. I said we would first like to order a bottle of wine. I ordered the bottle with our food afraid we would never see him again. The bottle of wine he brought was not the one on the wine list I had ordered but we drank it. Appetizers came I had the stuffed artichoke which was brand and not cooked enough. While our appetizer plates were still on the table dinner was served by the kitchen help which proceeded to throw the dirty plates on the table next to us. My boyfriend had the fussilli caprese which was overcooked and falling apart. We did not stay for dessert I could not get out of there fast enough. Then to top it all off they have the nerve to add the tip into the bill. There is no way I would have tipped this inexperienced waiter, rude hostess and chef this amount. I have been to the other 2 Calandras of which I have never had issues. Lesson learned I will go to those 2 moving forward and stay away from the Cucina.
Terrible service! Left after 30 min of having no one come to take our order or even acknowledge we were there. This is after speaking to the front desk twice. A waitress came only at the end and didn't know the menu at all. She asked us to repeat what we were ordering a few times. By then we had no confidence the order would be right so we got up and left. Spoke to the Manager who blamed it on "problems with labor". Really, it's problems with management!
Our server, Roxanne was pleasant and very efficient.
Food is consistently excellent. Service was great.
Service was good but a bit too fast. We were done in 45 minutes! Food was a little better than fast food. Mashed potato’s tasted like instant
The food was delicious. The entree prices were a tad high; desserts and cappuccino were very overpriced.
Service was slow, ans staff not so attentive, but this is likely due to being shorthanded on staff right now due to people not wanting to work. I never got a refill for water the entire time I was there, and I asked a few times. Staff would not even take time to pick up silverware or bread that had fallen on the floor right in the path where people walk. Service can be improved.
Happy hour on Thursday is only until 6:30 even though the website says it’s all night. Waited for over 20 minutes before a waiter came over and then was told that we had 1 minute to order because it was now 6:29. We placed 3 food orders and received only 2 because the waiter said that he forgot! Also, advertised a 30% coupon for the Executive Lounge which they would not accept even though there was nothing on the coupon which excluded Happy Hour! A very exasperating experience!!!!
Overall, a very average experience. Was a Wednesday evening and we ate inside. Restaurant was not very busy at all. It took about 15-minutes for anyone to come to our table after being seated (only after we had to ask the Maitre D if anyone was coming over). Waiter was new and even told us it was his 2nd day on the job...he had a couple of “stumbles” throughout the meal. Prices were a bit high for the quality and portions...appetizers significantly overpriced. Food lacked flavor and creativity, very bland...even my child’s pizza had hardly any taste. This is a quasi-BYOB as they have a bar as well, but will allow you to bring your own...but here’s the catch - a $15 Corking Fee to simply open each bottle of wine!! They had the nerve to throw on an automatic 20% Gratuity with this kind of experience on a slow night.
Save your money, as there are plenty of better options in the Passaic County / Morris County areas for quality Italian food at reasonable prices that are true BYOB’s.
Staff was very courteous and friendly, but inefficient and disorganized.
Food was good, came quickly.
Dessert sub-par, took forever.
Atmosphere nice and comfortably spaced.
A bit overpriced.
Perhaps my expectations were too high, or maybe just an off night...but I won't be returning soon.
Lovely Mother’s Day dinner
Service was not great
We went on Saturday night before Mother's Day. As expected there were many people there due to Mother's Day. They did not have enough staff on the floor or in the kitchen to handle the amount of people there were seating. Took a very long time to get our appetizer and then our dinners afterwards. Not sure I would go back again.
We had a reservation at 6:15 and were seated quickly but took forever to get drinks and place our order. We placed both at the same time and asked our server to rush things because my daughter had to babysit at 8pm. By 7:30 we had no sign of our food, told them we couldn’t wait any longer and asked for our check. It was very disappointing because they were continuing to seat tables (even rolled in a few additional) yet it was obvious how overwhelmed the kitchen was. Will not return.
My experience 5/8/21 was awful for my early Mother’s Day dinner. We attended our dinner around 3:45pm. We ordered our drinks and for my mother we ordered a hot tea. We all received our drinks after a while. But my mother didn’t receive her hot tea so we reminded the waitress she mentioned she would be right back. As time goes by the waitress disappeared, we are guessing she went outside to see her other tables and forgot about us. We complained to the staff she disappeared so they sent a new waiter to us. The new waiter apologized and took are orders. Overall it took 45 -50 mins after for my mom to finally get her hot tea for Mother’s Day dinner. By the way we sat on the corner left side of the restaurant my aunts chair got hit about 3 times hard while the waiters exited the kitchen. They apologized and we moved the table after the first incident and she still got hit twice. The sangria pitchers we got felt watered down but we didn’t complain. After we placed our entrees my sisters steak came out-with Spanish fries even tho she ordered mashed potatoes. But she didn’t complain because she said it would probably take another 30 minutes for the mash potatoes to come. Overall I was disappointed at this dinner but I kept cool the food was good. One of the managers finally noticed towards the end that my aunts chair got hit again. She apologized but at this time we were just happy to leave as we were finishing our dessert. Like I mentioned before the food was delicious but the service was unacceptable that day.
Italian food was fantastic. However, the short ribs were very fatty and our guest who ordered them could not eat them. Stick with traditional Italian dishes and you will enjoy your experience.
Food was great and live music was awesome and drinks were phenomenal! First time here but definitely not the last. Beautiful garden seating but parking could be better.
