We celebrated new jobs after a long work week! The service and the food were amazing...perfect place to celebrate!
Food was excellent and the service outstanding!
I ordered the lamb chop special. It was a little pricey.
We have been going to Cucina Alessa for years, the food is always great. The atmosphere is good for meeting with friends. We will continue to come back for the food and the service. Thanks.
The food was delicious the atmosphere was pleasant over all a great experience.
Great birthday dinner with family. Service was excellent as was the food. Good wine list. Birthday "dessert" was fun.
Excellent food and service has us coming back for more time and time again.
Always a great meal at Cucina Alessa. Great food and service!
Nice place. Very cold when we were there. They need to turn up the thermostat and warm it up bit.
We went here for my mom's 94th birthday and there were eight of us with a previous reservation. The table was beautifully set and the food came hot and well prepared. Our waiter did a great job considering it was a Saturday night and the place was going full blast. They graciously cut and served the birthday cake I had made and boxed what was left. It was noisy because it was full, but other than that I would not hesitate to go back for another meal or party.
The food and service was fantastic - I would definitely recommend Cucina Alessa for lunch or dinner!
Great great food. Bread+pesto was top notch! Good portions for price on pasta dishes. Very relaxing— great for date night or just good Italian dinner. We were from Minnesota and came across place. Really enjoyed our meal.
A wonderful place on a corner, not on the beach, but near the beach. Great menu. The waiters were outstanding. Came here a long time ago, and it still doesn't miss. One of my favorite wines (Stags Leap & Cake bread). Had a wonderful time. Will be back again and again when i'm in Huntington Beach.
Great food and excellent service as always! Thank you!
Although I'm relative new to Huntington Beach and, accordingly, my dining ventures here have been somewhat limited to date, this is easily the best restaurant I've eaten in so far. Every dish has been either very good or excellent, especially the soups and pastas. And the service, while a bit slow at times, has also been stellar.
This is a very warm and comforting place. The Laguna could have been cooked at grandmas house. We will return when we visit this area again.
Amazing food! Amazing wait staff! We can’t wait to go back!!
I had been to this restaurant only once before and sat at a table upstairs by the bar, and I really enjoyed it and had a delicious Chillean sea bass. I drove down from Ventura county to come and I wish I had noted in my reservation that we would like to be up in the bar. We were seated next to a table of about 12 people with about 4 young children, and there was a lot of crying and noise that was not conducive to an adult dinner out. I was taking my friend who is the captain of the Garden Grove fire dept. for his birthday . We also had a limo and so the restaurant that night was not quite what I had hoped for. The food was good and the waiter was very nice, it just wasn't the best having crying children next to us.
We were able to walk from our beach resort and see the downtown area. The restaurant was a welcome stop with fantastic food before we headed back to the beach.
Really knowledgeable, friendly staff. The meat and cheese plate was honestly the best thing we ordered! The special (sea bass and asparagus) was a favorite, as was the specially prepared eggplant parm. Would definitely be back for another go for our next trip south of LA.
Our dishes (chicken marsala and lasagna) were lacking in flavor. The server wasn't friendly, in fact, his manner bordered on rude.
It is a good choice for a almost real Italian food.
It is very consistent and the service is very good.
I do recommend it.
We were put off when the waiter asked for our orders, then reached in front of us to grab our table service and rearrange them. Not only was the gesture rude, but he literally interrupted the ordering process. Delicious pesto and focaccia was brought to the table first. When our meals arrived, we quickly realized the pesto was by far the best thing on the table. Our pastas, especially their sauces, were exceedingly bland. Granted, we didn't order fresh pasta or their specials, but the food was so boring I'd never go back.
The only disappointment was the Fragole salad: the roasted golden yellow beets were unavailable, and the strawberry red wine vinaigrette lacked interesting flavor. That being said, the pastas were phenomenal! Most impressive were the fresh homemade pastas--Tortelli di Carne (braised short rib stuffed giant tortellini w/walnut porcini cream sauce) and Pappardelle Al Sugo D'Agnello (ribbon-shaped pasta with hearty braised lamb shoulder). The Lasagna and Fettucine Alfredo were also excellent. Will return again soon.
NYE and the service was excellent! Waiter was very knowledgeable about the menu and wine selections. We brought kids too and they loved the pizza. I had the tortellini prosciutto, out of this world sauce!! Highly recommend for any occasion or just last minute night out too!
Service was a little bit slow, but food was delicious and high-quality with a great menu selection. A little on the pricier side but worth it for good Italian food. Restaurant is very cozy and loud during dinnertime.
Celebrating a great year!
Party of five were all very pleased with their meals, except one. The lasagna was over cooked and lacked meat with way too much cheese. It should have been sent back but it was Christmas Eve and we were on a timeline.
food is consistently great and our server, Victor, was wonderful!
Love the place but food seemed ho-hum since last time we visited.
We chose this restaurant for the reviews and honestly, I'm not sure why it got better reviews than what we experienced. There were 4 of us, my husband and I and our 34 yr daughter (birthday girl) and her husband. Our daughter arrived 15 minutes earlier than we did, they were seated at a nice table by the window and not once were they asked for drinks or offered water. Once we arrived, the show started: our waiter Victor was delightful and very helpful, but we had 4 different people waiting on us and when we ordered drinks or asked for something on menu, it was forgotten or delayed. It was not very busy, so we were a bit confused as to why the delays.
2 out of the 4 main courses were delicious. Our salads were all ok and appetizer, calamari, quite good.
I scored it a 3 because of the long delays, food quality ok and very confusing having 4 waiters.
Love the salmon salad, the pesto and bread for dipping. Yummy yummy yummy.
Went here for a business lunch to reflect on 2017 performance. I read about this on the Internet, and it looked good. I had no idea how good. The atmosphere was great, but the food was even better. The Chopped Salad was amazing. Another person has the salmon and raved about it.
I am from Seattle, but when I am back in HB, I will definitely be going there again!
Livornese is our favorite entree. It is delicious and well prepared. Thank you!
Way too loud birthday group and no attempt to control the noise level
Another amazing meal, a must visit when we are in Huntington Beach
The entire experience was great. A nice selection of appetizers, beer, and wine. Service was just about perfect. Missed an item from our original order, but we were too happy with entrees to complain. Highly recommend!
The pasta dishes that were special of the day were excellent. A little high priced but very tasty. And creative. We sat upstairs near the window but it was Extremely Loud and very hard to carry on a private conversation. There were a couple of groups right in the middle and they dominated with their noise. Of course the more they drank the louder they got. Lots of loud talking really bothers me probably more than other people but they should have some areas where it's not so loud. Mentioned the noise to the waiter and he had to lean over and almost shout to tell us that that's just the way it is there. Maybe the downstairs is quieter but it was full other than a small table right in the middle of the room. I had requested a quiet booth or table on my reservation but they didn't honor that. They need to rearrange the tables and booths so there is more separation between groups. If they cater to groups of six or eight upstairs then they should separate them from the small tables where people like to talk privately.
We have enjoyed this restaurant for many years. Recommended.
