Cucina Alessa Huntington Beach Ratings and Reviews
The homemade pasta were a standout- the lamb ragu is usually one of favorites and did not disappoint. Since my wife did not want wine we skipped it but the selection looked well curated and priced. Desserts were pretty standard and some may have been outsourced.
Not up to the standards of the best places in big cities, but still quite pleasant with comfortable seating and a relaxed atmosphere.
Cucina Alessa was excellent across the board, with terrific service (thanks Josh!), delicious food (think handmade pasta), and wonderful views from the 2nd floor dining area. The preparation, sauces, flavors and presentation provided for a memorable evening. Highly recommend and will be back~
The butternut squash ravioli is so delicious. We ordered the appetizer portion since it's so rich and we didn't want to fill up and not enjoy the rest of the dinner. My husband ordered the ciopinio and I ordered the chicken Marsala. The side potatoes were seasoned and cooked perfectly and the steamed spinach was tasty. The Marsala was delicious but not as good as the ciopinio. We love this place and wished we lived closer so we could eat here every weekend instead of 2-3 times per year.
On the convenient outskirts of HB on Main Street, Cucina Alessa offers a great curved corner for outside dining or a cozy inside, if you prefer. Jose was delightful, serving me with flair and kindness for an early 4:30 pm dinner of salmon, spinach and a special request of a fusili in a delicious lemon sauce... addictive!!!! I couldn't have been more satisfied with my visit!
Highly recommended!!!! *
Food and atmosphere were superb, but the service was a little lacking. Delicious starters and pasta dishes....so good. Service was a little spotty but once we pointed this out, they were much more accommodating and attentive. When they were doling out the parmesan cheese for our dishes, they accidentally got it in my husband's wine glass. Accidents happen and once pointed out, they brought him another glass without hesitating. All-in-all, we would come back.
I'm very picky when I eat out and I was not disappointed at all with this restaurant. My family totally enjoyed our meal and the server was superb. Seriously, this place is great and I recommend it to anyone desiring Italian and priced very appropriately... good stuff!
The restaurant is about 15-20 minutes from Huntington Beach. The food was outstanding . The short rib tortellini was outstanding. The lamb chops with the linguine marinara was excellent as well. We started with the meat and cheese board, delicious. The highlight was the service level by Kateryna . She was great and helped guide us to the top dishes . I will be back!
Food took a long time and service was slow. I had chicken marsala and it was not cooked all the way. Server didn't come by to check on us until everyone else was done eating and by that time I had already eaten enough of everyone else's terrible food not to be hungry. Even if my food was cooked properly it wouldn't have been enjoyable as the sauce, pasta, and potatoes were all bland. My Caesar salad had way too much pepper put on by the waitstaff. Once again no one came around to check so it went uneaten. My mom's food came out wrong but it was replaced promptly. When it was delivered it was not good. Not sure how you screw up a bolognese but these guys did it. All of their tomato sauces were over acidic. Lucky I didn't get sick from the raw chicken I ate. They took my meal off the bill, whoopty doo, thank god I didn't have to pay for a meal I didn't eat. I'll never be back.
We live nearby and have had a handful of meals here. The service ranges from okay to terrible. This last time it was terrible. We sat for twenty minutes before the waiter stopped to say he's being bread and take a drink order. Someone else brought bread and eventually I called someone over to ask if we could order drinks. The middle aged male waiter was either patronizing or totally inattentive. The food is never great but usually decent. The chicken Marsala, in an Italian eatery came with what looked like breakfast potatoes and a clump of limp spinach? The minestrone is fabulous. The spinach ravioli looks horrible and tastes okay.
Was there for mom's 64th birthday dinner. The place was slightly loud and the food was good, although I was a little suspicious about how soon it came out. Struck me as odd since the place was full and it is a nice sit down dinner place.
The service was Fantastic ! Our waiter was amazing and made us laugh a lot along with giving great recommendations.
*Women's restroom was out of order. Having never been to this place, I asked the hostess if I could use the men's and her response was: 'if you want'. A simple 'yes go ahead' would suffice lady.
I would definitely recommend for anyone wanting to eat in Huntington Beach as Huntington Beach has mainly low quality places to eat which makes this place shine.
