Chef & owner Brian Canipelli opened Cucina 24 in 2008 on Wall Street in the center of downtown Asheville, NC.

Our kitchen is focused on melding the traditions and philosophies of Italian cookery with ingredients found in the mountains of the American South.

We work closely with a number of area farms and our menus reflect produce that they bring to us.

Chef Brian has three children, Mia, Skylar and Luca.

My wife and 15 & 11 year old went for dinner. My daughter had Gnnochi, Son had a beatiful pasta sausage bowl, my wife had a special, I had the carbonara. A server/manager/owner came by and put a plate of house made pasta with emulsified pasta water (cooked down for sauce) with pepper and some spices. Outstanding. Great wine list. If you like hearty small plate authentic Italian dishes, you've got to stop in. It was the last night of a mini vacation and we couldn't have capped it off any better!

We have been to Cucina 24 about 5 times now and it never fails to impress. The tasting menu gives you a little bit of lots of items on the menu, so if you have the time, go for it. You may become acquainted with something delicious that you would not normally order. The traditional side of the menu is great too. The focaccia bread (you have to order it) is probably the best bread I've ever had in a restaurant. This time, I had the whole snapper with raisins and pignoli nuts. I almost didn't order it because I didn't want to mess with bones, etc. I asked if they would remove the head and tail and bones, which they did. I am sooo glad I asked. This fish was amazing. So moist and flavorful. My husband and mother-in-law had beef carpaccio with a fantastic sauce. Yummy. His pasta with sausage was spot on delicious. She raved about her zuppa de pesche. As always, excellent service. I am surprised that this restaurant is not in Asheville's top 10 more often. It is definitely on ours and we eat out there a lot.

I love going to Cucina 24 because they always have availability, the locations great, the food is delicious, and the service is exceptional.

Food was good, but not great. The service was fine, but a bit too casual. The hostess needs training; she could not bring herself to smile during the entire exchange and seemed annoyed that we had decided to dine at Cucina 24. She takes no pride in her work and that reflects poorly in her employer. Overall, an okay experience that could have been great if the restaurant had tried a bit harder.

I have been several times and have always enjoyed Cucina 24. We were a party of 7 on Dec. 30th for dinner. We had a reservation and were seated immediately. Everyone ordered cocktails which took a very long time to come. The food was outstanding and we had lots of it - snail toast, foccacia, hangar steak, several pastas. It was all wonderful. The service however, was not up to the standard of the food. Our vegetarian friend asked several questions about meatless options and was assured that her pasta would be made without bacon; it wasn't. Two of our party ordered at the same time as everyone else but apparently their order was never submitted as 5 of us were done eating by the time their food came. Our second bottle of wine also took a very long time to arrive. It was a busy night, but isn't that what popular Asheville restaurants want and expect? The food made up for the bad service and I will go back.

We really enjoyed the awesome cocktails. The food was incredible. The service was excellent. It was very cold and they didn't get started right at 5pm with people waiting outside in the frigid temps but they made up for that with excellent service.
