A truly wonderful meal with great courses and wine pairings. Go hungry!
Our server was knowledgeable about her product and took pride in serving it. We had such a nice experience And plan to go again!
So Delicious & Very attentive to social distancing!!! Next Trip here will DEFINITELY go again!
Absolutely fabulous! Everything was so delicious and there was a copious amount of food to be had. It was fun working our way through it! Can't wait to go back to see what Chef comes up with next!
Great evening, food was great. Olive oil was delicious and wait staff was very attentive.
Definitely recommend trusting the chef's menu. It was cold sitting outdoors but everything else was amazing!
I've eaten at Cucina 24 quite a few times over the years and have always found it exceptional, including my first outdoor dining experience with them, back in August, when I felt that Mr Canipelli and his crew outdid themselves. That was one of the best dinners I've eaten, at Cucina 24 or anywhere else. Unfortunately, however, my experience there this last weekend was disappointing. To start with, my craft cocktail (they usually pack a punch, are inventive and unique, and so delicious that when you hit the bottom you want to cry for more) was loaded with little ice cubes from top to bottom; what little liquid was there was weak and watery. Not to mention expensive. Food-wise, we went for the tasting menu option, where we chose our main (secondi) course, but the antipasti and dolci were samples of everything else on offer. The antipasti were hit and miss -- some delicious, others mediocre. A pasta dish (the primi course) was gummy and flavorless. My main course (poussin) tasted quite nice, but was very small and undercooked. The dolci were fabulous. The service started out well (including help with finding a terrific bottle of wine from their list), but we waited a very long time between the primi course and the main course (apologies were offered, but still. . .), and after that -- even though the outdoor eating area is small and was not at all busy -- service was spotty, at best. It seemed as if the servers had found something else to do that had nothing to do with us. Overall, this was a less than satisfactory dining experience, especially in comparison to what I know, from experience, this restaurant can provide. I know times are tough; I just hope they haven't given up.
We were only told on the afternoon of our reservation that the only sitting would be outside Iwhen the temperature was 50°. At that point it was too late to make a reservation anywhere else on a busy weekend and we suffered through the cold and traffic noise for what would have otherwise been a wonderful experience.
The tasting menu was perfect and such a great price for this caliber of food! My spouse recently had back surgery and the healing process is taking longer than anticipated so he can currently only stand or lay down. I called ahead and spoke with Katie (who was also our server), explained the situation, and she happily accommodated us by arranging to bring a high-top table outside from inside the currently-closed dining room so that he could comfortably stand and enjoy his meal. Katie had already graciously arranged everything when we arrived and that’s called going above-and-beyond! We will definitely be back!
Loved the tasting menu - overly worth the price. Will be back!
Only outdoor seating plus wind in the evening means you need to bundle up if you go to eat here. Food was good, but being outside caused it to get cold faster which means we ate quickly and di not stay as long as we would have liked.
Although we were unable to get in due to Covid and capacity restrictions, our interaction with the staff was outstanding and the food looked and smelled delicious. We will try again!
We loved everything about the experience. We weren’t rushed. Food was delicious and service was excellent.
Great outdoor setup! Tasting menu is a crazy good value.
My wife and I did the chefs tasting menu and it was a great experience. The service was great and very informative. The food was delicious but unique. If you are looking for an interesting variety of food options this will be a great place for you!
Had a great time out doors. Service was great and really enjoy the food and brunello!
The food and drinks were amazing. Unfortunately dining outside when it’s 50 degrees with no heaters or wind prevention left a bad taste. We had to get our dessert to go as it was miserable sitting outside for 2 hours in the cold.
The only thing that would make it better is if they had heaters outside. Due to covid they had us eating outside under a tent which is completely understandable. It was fairly chilly and no heaters so we felt rushed to go find heat. The food and service were delicious and would totally go back (either on a nice day or dressed for the frozen tundra😂)
Absolutely incredible. Could not dream up a more amazing meal!
We ate outside so difficult to say much about ambience. The food was excellent. The vegetables were local and grilled to perfection. Local trout was great
This place is just flat out one of the best restaurants in the state...I eat out a lot and like good food...top 5 at least.
Good food good service. During Covid we had to sit outside while the rain poured down. It was cold and wet
Amazing service by Becky and team. Unbelievable delicious culinary experience. Order the chef's tasting for 2! This is a true dining experience. Take your time and enjoy every second on your taste buds.
If you order a tasting menu, that dosent mean shove seven plates on the table all at the same time. The food seemed rushed and not well thought out.
We always enjoy Cucina 24- being able to take advantage of the outdoor space works for us right now.
Cucina is a real gem for foodies. All if the dishes are unique and expertly prepared. We were a group of four and we enjoyed the gnocchi, the baccala and the quail. The menu changes often so check online the day you plan to go.
Our server Becky was an expert on how all the dishes were prepared and was a pleasure to work with. Go! Try it! You won't be disappointed.
We picked the tasting menu and it was amazing!
Wonderful experience! It was my birthday dinner and the food, wine, & service were all fantastic. Even though they made a mistake on a pizza, they were quick to remedy the situation and were so gracious. Highly recommend!!
Came for a Sunday evening date night. Ordered a round of cocktails, which we both loved, and then got started on the night's tasting menu. Everything was fantastic and came out at a perfect pace. Our server was very knowledgeable, and suggested an excellent bottle of wine. The gnochetti pasta was a major home run. Other standouts were the mackerel and the stuffed habanada peppers. Each plate was perfectly balanced and well constructed and left me very eager to try the next offering. 10/10 all around, we cannot wait to come back!
My husband and I shared the tasting menu and it was fantastic! The price, the quality of food, the portions & the sheer number of courses was impressive. Our server was attentive and personable. I'm sure the wine list was amazing, but we were focused on n/a beverages & they didn't disappoint. I was very impressed with their handling of safety protocols. I didn't have to go inside the building at all, except to use the restroom (one person at a time). They have about a 20' x 10' tent set up on Wall St. Although the road is still open to vehicular traffic, the few cars that came through did so very slowly. the tents had removable cloth sides that were up on Sunday night, but when we drove through on Saturday it was raining pretty hard & they had 3 of the 4 sides down, still allowing air circulation, but most likely keeping everyone dry on the inside (we'd just eaten under an umbrella at Asheville Proper & didn't get very wet, so I'm sure the folks under the tent were completely protected from the rain. Covid dining out is a whole new ball game and Cucina 24 is doing an amazing job adapting while still serving up the amazing dining experience I remember from my last trip, about 3 years ago - I had such a good time, I might start going downtown again, lol.
We appreciated the outdoor seating. Always fabulous food, we’ll be back soon!
We LOVE Cucina24: delicious food, excellent wine list (all Italian), knowledgeable and friendly wait staff. We were there a couple of nights ago dining outside under a canopy. Tables were nicely distanced from one another. But...the heavens opened and it POURED rain. We remained dry and the amazing servers carried on, producing courses from the kitchen and dashing through the rain to deliver to diners. They didn't miss a beat. (We ordered the tasting menu which was fabulous with an array of small plate appetizers, a pasta course, grilled salmon and quail and fab desserts. We'll be back, for sure.
The food was great and the server was knowledgeable. We were seated outside on a windy day which was not ideal for our trip to the area. We would return again for the fantastic food.
We went for our special honeymoon dinner and decided to do the tasting menu. It was incredible! And the bread, oh my! I could sleep in pillows of it. They were so wonderful in making it special and can’t wait to go back again!
Food is very good but just slow in coming
Beautiful dinner spot for a nice night. Great service and refined cuisine. Highly recommend the tasting menu.
Excellent meal. Also shout out - there was an opentable screwup - restaurant reached out and made sure we were covered. Server was fantastic with great wine recommendation. Tasting menu is definitely the way to go!
Labor Day weekend dinner. Everything was fantastic!
Absolutely loved this place! Their outdoor setup was so nice and the service was great. I will say I was influenced by reviewers recommending the tasting menu and it was really fun to try a bunch of different things but I would not do that again. I think their best dishes aren’t on the tasting menu. The antipasto dishes were very unique but definitely not something I would ever order again. The pasta dish we had was incredible and I noticed a ton of people were ordering pizzas to go that looked mouthwatering. So I would stick to the pasta/pizza dishes at this place and you will not be disappointed. My boyfriend had the lamb neck pasta dish and it was melt in your mouth so good I would order it again for myself. I had the trout which had great flavor but I kept finding fish bones so I ended up eating a lot of my boyfriends food lol. Our desserts were very good too!
We came into Asheville for our honeymoon and were thrilled that we were able to get a reservation at Cucina 24. They had set up a tent out on the street, which was very cute and had a great view of downtown Asheville and the mountains in the distance. The staff was super friendly and even gave us a couple of complementary glasses of sparkling wine, since it was our honeymoon! We opted for the tasting menu and were SO glad we did. Everything was delicious and very creative -- and the dishes kept coming! Could not have asked for a more perfect dining experience.
