Our kitchen is focused on melding the traditions and philosophies of Italian cookery with ingredients found in the mountains of the American South.
We work closely with a number of area farms and our menus reflect produce that they bring to us.
Chef Brian has three children, Mia, Skylar and Luca.
The wait staff is well-informed, the suggestions were excellent. He was attentive. But not intrusive. The quality of the ingredients used is spectacular. Everything is first class with quality of ingredients. Flavor is wonderful. The bread delicious and we all loved the fact that the Ricota, the butter and the pasta are all made in house. Usual flavors and combinations were delightful. The peach and prosciutto ham pizza Was surprisingly good. I highly recommend the roasted root vegetables, again flavorful combinations and unique.
This is not the restaurant to come to if you are expecting the ordinary. However, if you are someone who loves to be delightfully surprised with combinations of flavors that are delicious, then this is the place for you.
I highly recommend, one of Asheville’s finest restaurants, not only to tourists but also to the natives that live here.
Cucina is one of the best restaurant experiences I had. The service the food the knowledge about each plate.
We are back in Knoxville raving about your restaurant
Spur of the moment decision to go out. Sat at the chef's counter and had a great meal. Best service in town.
Amazing! I go every time I’m in Asheville.
One of my favorites. Pace of service is good and I never feel rushed. Food is imaginative and well-prepared and there is a good range of cost and portion size.
Great experience. Food is fresh, staff is knowledgeable and most accommodating. I would return on my next visit to Asheville
We did the 4-course tasting and it was exceptional! A very memorable experience and meal.
Second time my wife and I have eaten at Cucina 24 in the past two weeks - both times the service was outstanding and the food was delicious. Food was prepared beautifully and served hot as was appropriate. I had pasta dishes both times and really enjoyed them. Cucina 24 also has a nice wine selection at reasonable prices.
Cheese board was a great starter, but pasta dishes lacked flavor and were uninspiring, also too little sauce. My main dish was a Bronzino cooked whole. It was tasty but difficult to separate the fish from the bones. This was the second time in six months we found the meals unsatisfying. Cucina 24 at one time was our favorite restaurant in the city, but we won't be eating there again.
Our go to restaurant when we visit Asheville. We both love the ambiance and food as well as a very nice wine list. As always great service!
So good that we went twice in ten days! Excellent pastas, fantastic “peach pizza,” excellent sides. Really impressed and super delicious.
Awesome service and wonderful meal!!
A very enjoyable experience. The atmosphere is great and the owners have done a good job in designing the space to cut down on noise (i.e. sound panels).
We had the tasting menu. Appetizers were excellent. The only weakness was a cucumber salad with pesto (my description not the restaurants). The cucumber salad was okay just not meeting the lofty expectations set by the other appetizers (a white anchovy dip with fresh, local greens), a mascarpone mixture in nasturtium blossoms (a nice sweet touch with the mascarpone), and a stracciatella (Cucina24 version of mozzarella) with panzanella.
The ravioli and risotto dishes were next and both were prepared to perfection. Well balanced with unique flavors. Maybe the best dishes we had
We had a wreck fish and quail for the mains. The wreck was slightly overcooked but still nicely done. The quail was excellent and well seasoned.
Dessert was fresh strawberries and an olive oil gelato. Just the right touch.
Overall, a well thought out menu
The stars say it all. The ceasar salad was much too bitter.
Our server did however treat us to a desert from the family style menu since it was our anniversary. A nice gesture.
We tried the tasting menu and it was perfect.
We had an excellent dining experience. Aubrey, our server was lovely and knowledgeable and attentive to our wants and needs. The food was unique in flavor and ingredients which made every course exciting and highly anticipated! We were not rushed in any way which we appreciated. We will be back!
Great food, excellent service
We come here every year before we drop our girls off for camp. The food is amazing and there is something on the menu for everyone!!! Service is always superb!!! Highly recommend!!!
After overlooking the very pompous gentleman host with the personality of a wet fly we where seated at a nice table near the bar area unfortunately we had vision of the dirty kitchen supplies over the prep area, not very appealing. With that being said the food was suburb! I had the peach and prosciutto pizza which was delicious as well as my guests bolognese. The server was pleasant but, equally made us feel as she was doing us a favor eating their. Nothing worse then attitudes when a restaurant feels they deserve it!
Cucina 24 presents a quality of Italian food that you simply can't find anywhere else in the Southeast. In the true spirit of Italian regional cuisine, they incorporate local products into a menu that innovates while honoring its roots. No trip to Asheville is complete without a dinner here.
Also, please be sure to try the local fernet and local amaro. They really tie the meal together.
We loved everything about this place. We reserved a spot at the bar which we loved. We did the chef’s tasting menu which provided the opportunity to try so many delicious things. Could not love this place more. The cocktails, wine, beer and food were all outstanding. We will definitely be back!
We did the family style daily special which was well explained as several small dishes. Overall they were interesting and tasty dishes, however it took quite a long time in between each dish. I know that is part of the experience, but since the dishes were so small, I left over two hours later still hungry. Servers were all nice and attentive otherwise.
Excellent cocktails and dinner. Server was delightful and knowledgeable about items in menu. Went twice while in Asheville-that good!
Server was fantastic, drinks, amazing, food delicious. I had the halibut and it was perfectly prepared. The only complaint was the AC wasn’t working it is was incredibly hot in the restaurant.
Made a last minute reservation on OpenTable and had some seats reserved at the bar. Upon walking in, we were greeted by Logan, who was extremely friendly and personable. He showed us to our seats and gave us some recommendations. We ordered a plate of goat cheese and beets (delicious) and prosciutto di Parma (literally just a plate of prosciutto, no garnish) to start. After that we ordered their Speck Pizza (it is of good size -disclaimer there are red onions on it which is not listed on their menu) and their Tonnarelli Cacio e Pepe (very good). The young lady who brought out our food, Laura, was very attentive and friendly; even though the bartender was supposed to be taking care of us. Overall, Logan and Laura made this experience better for us. The quality of food did not match the price point.
The pre-fixe is a great deal!
We lived our experience. We chose the tasting menu and each person was delighted by the selection. Fresh food and great flavor.
The food was good but not great. The quality was not worth the money. I was upset that we were seated on a wooden bench instead of chairs. I requested a change but the person who seated us would not reseat us.
Loved every thing. Cocktails were great, one of my top five favorite pizzas. The crust is perfect. Loved the pea panzanella so much, we ordered some to go. Only complaint was that it was a little stuffy and hot in the back room.
It was a great place to celebrate date night with my SO. Nice ambiance to dress up super fancy if you want to, but definitely not required
Fantastic food and staff. Best mussels and bread ever. Went back next night for same. Entrees were also tops. Staff very knowledgeable. Sat at kitchen bar. Chef was engaging. Did not have pizza but was wood fired and looked amazing. A must if in Asheville.
We eat there every time we go to Asheville. Always good.
Outstanding traditional food with some modern twists. Carpaccio to die for. Excellent Italian wine list at all price points. Pasta dishes are well done. Highly recommend. They also make a good negroni.
My husband and I visit Cucina 24 every year when we are in the Asheville area. Our meal last week continued the tradition of superlative meals meant to be savored. Sous Chef Nick Hane amazed us with an array of starters, vegetables and fish that left us feeling pampered but not uncomfortably full. Warm artichokes is saffron/lemon aioli, beef carpaccio with spouting broccoli and garlic, "hard bite" candy sized pasta stuffed with lemon zest and mascarpone cheese, swordfish grilled to perfection followed by chocolate torte accompanied by rhubarb/strawberry/balsamic ice cream capped off our exceptional meal. We found that each bite danced on the tongue and then exploded again as some other flavor found its way to tantalize and surprise. We had no other plans that evening, so we gave ourselves into the experience of eating at Cucina 24 under Nick Hane's masterful gift for blending, balancing and complimenting exceptional flavors. We hate that we live in another time zone. But we will be back on our next trip to Asheville!
No salad on the menu? Oh, yes - there it is under Antipasti. It's called 'little gems'. Um okay, that may sound more creative but please call it a salad. Nice place, but plywood seating looks cheap. Food was good but not great. Pizza dough not my style - no chew and soggy in places. Pasta was good. Lots of great places to eat in Asheville, they need to up their game.
Very good food and service
This is a nice option for Italian food in downtown Asheville. The food was spiced a bit heavy for my taste, but that is a minor issue. Overall, I enjoyed the experience.
My wife and I chose this restaurant on a whim and we are so thankful that we did. The hostess took notice of our prior request to sit where we could see the kitchen and food preparation. Several servers attended to us throughout the evening. Our main server recommended the tasting menu which we were excited to experience. The tasting menu was a veritable litany of unique dishes you might not expect from an Italian restaurant. They were phenomenal! The wine pairings were also spot on. We look forward to coming back here in the future.
First time! The bolognese was the best I’ve ever had! Our server was wonderful and we will come back when in town.
Unfortunately the AC wasn’t working on the very warm evening we were there. It would have been kinder to perhaps place a notice at the front desk informing patrons, before we were told half way through our meal.
