Due to it being a Sunday afternoon they did not have everything we wanted having been previously busy. But what we had was very good, both food and cocktails. Staff very friendly and made all the difference! Very accommodating! The staff alone made you feel you would go back!

Selected as a convenient location for family, pre-theatre supper. Our second visit. Service exceptionally friendly but hopelessly disorganised; menu limited but interesting, inconsistent production when comparing with previous experience; ambience great if looking for a rave venue, we all came out hoarse from trying to converse; drinks were super. Thoroughly recommend this as a fine weather cocktail drinking venue.

Booked a table over a week ahead, arrived for my wife's birthday and to my surprise was given the worse table in the venue. Right on the corner of the bar, entrance to dirty kitchen. The old unwashed cocktails fermenting and piled up was my boiling point. I asked the manager for another table, she said no I can't! I walked out, they did not even apologise or try to do something. Deleted the stupid app as well.
Coincidentally that table was free even though I was 30mins early!

Durable plates as my 3yr old dropped hers. No breakages and staff very quick to clear up and even offered her another chicken! Could be quicker to top up our drinks and offer dessert especially when you want to get on your way with the kiddies. But food was amazing. Even my dad at 62 who's a right old fuss pot and reluctant to try new was massively impressed with his meal and enjoyed every mouthful with his chili sauce! We would certainly come again!

We went to Cubana for a pre theatre meal. Their menu is plantain heavy. I had falafel and a prawn dish which were very good. I had a very cheap non alcoholic mohito as it was happy hour. The meal was a good deal. The place was buzzy with happy smiling waitresses. I would go again.

The staff were friendly and helpful but clearly run off their feet. We had a long wait for our order to be taken, for drinks and for food. The food was great when it finally arrived though!

Also they were unable to find our open table booking although they made room for us anyway.

Party of 3 on a Saturday early evening. We all went for the pre-theatre menu and took advantage of happy hour, which was outstanding value. Food was decent, and the fun lively atmosphere make a nice change from some of the more stuffy or pricey restaurants in the area. Will be back.

we visited for some food and drinks, the location is convenient, food options seemed interesting and they have a good value early deal, which we missed but did manage to get some happy hour drinks. quite students fare, not very sophisticated. Im not sure we are their clientele!

The food was great and the price was even better. Especially for London! However, before we even sat down the waitress told us that we only had the table for 90 min (which I was aware of ), but that wasn't a very welcoming way to start a meal!

Cubana provides authentic Cuban food a mere 2 minute walk right around the corner from Waterloo station. The decor and food make this place a real treat. It's a good thong we had reservations because the Monday evening we were there was full of people having a good time.

I am constrained to rate the restaurant as poor. It's not their fault but my reservation thru open table never got to them even after I got a confirmation. Went there to find no reservation and was given a self service seat outside in the cold. I needed to go to the bar to order food and carry my own drinks to my table in the cold.

What a disgrace opentable.

Went to Cubana for cocktails and pre theatre meal before the Old Vic. Cocktails limited but 241 and delicious. Great value. Food outstanding and I followed waiter's recommendation for the Beef dish - mouth watering. Have already recommended Cubana to friends. TY.

We came across Cubana by accident but were intrigued by the bright colours and authentic feel of the place. We decided to give it a try for an after work gathering so that we could make an assessment (we're a sociable bunch and like to go out regularly!). In arrived early and was immediately made to feel welcome. I didn't feel that I was pressured by the staff. The staff were warm and welcoming. The food was delicious and extremely good VFM! Drinks flowed and we were merry. We'd defo use it again. Only downer was we had to move on after our 90 mins expired otherwise I'm sure we would have spent the evening there. Well done Cubana Excelente!

I had high hopes of the food from the menu descriptions but was disappointed. My chicken salad sounded wonderful on the menu. The chicken pieces were plonked on a plate of lettuce and tomato with no dressing so all very dry even though the chicken did taste good. My nephews pork tasked good but again just plonked on a place with now finesse which made it look unappetizing even if it tasked good. I would probably give it another go though to see if other dishes were better and I did like the unique décor and atmosphere.

I had friends from the US and from Kew come all the way to experience Cubana. They were late so I enjoyed the 2 for 1 Mojito happy hour. The staff were super friendly in getting our table organised and once settled we enjoyed terrific food or at least two of us did - the shredded beef and the pork dishes - but the tuna fischcakes were a little dry and a lot of potato. That being said, this was great food and great value and a buzzing atmosphere.

My partner and I love Cubana. We don't get there as often as we would like! We went on a Thursday night pre theatre. Highly recommend booking in advance. The table had a time limit of 90 minutes, which suited us fine. We were there during Happy Hour and the place was very buzzy. The food is fresh with lovely flavours and textures. I would love to go when it's a bit quieter, as the music tends to drown out the chance for conversation, but actually we've never been there when it's quieter! It's a very popular place. The staff are very friendly and accommodating.

Don't linger if you've a dinner booking at Cubana. The teenage staff make it clear that you're only allocated a table for a certain amount of time, so plans to down jug after jug of sangria are quietly shelved. Initial froideur aside, once it gets underway Cubana delivers. It's got a little more verve than is normal for a corporate venue. The food is an avatar of Latin American street, but done nicely - fresh and quick. I enjoyed the Sputnik mojito, Soviet era cocktails made with tetrapak orange juice - almost a nod to what a fake this place really is. But it's a spirited, tasty fake, and to be welcomed as Waterloo's dining scene burgeons. Good for a light pre- or post-theatre supper, or if you're entertaining less well travelled teens.

I won't be going back to Cubana. I had been before, and remember the food being nice and the service pleasant if a bit hit-or-miss. This time the food was just OK - and of the ten starters on the menu they only had a few available, although we weren't exactly late diners with an 8pm booking. The drinks we ordered took an age to arrive, and when the cocktail pitcher came we had to ask for glasses three times before going to the bar area and fetching them ourselves. One of us asked for Diet Pepsi, and ten minutes after asking was told there was no Diet left - so ordered normal Pepsi which took another ten minutes to appear (on a very hot night). We were given a dessert menu and told only ONE of the menu items was available so decided to pass.

I wouldnt recommend to go there for food, but maybe just for the Salsa night. Great band and great atmosphere.

The place fails completely as a restaurant and food service. they screwed up my booking by not providing me with the right arrangement for the number of people we were (we were 8 they gave me a table for 6). you wait a while before someone gives you SOME attention.

Anyway, go there for the music, not the food.

This restaurant wasn't my booking choice and I probably wouldn't have gone for it as I don't love Cuban food. However, the atmosphere was buzzing and quite fun, the cocktails were nice and it was cheap. Probably more one for a party booking than a quiet catch up with a friend but we had a nice evening nonetheless.
