Poor service, overly salty food, and dining room needs to be updated. I’ve been here before but this was the first time I sat inside.
Our party of 3 had different entrees: pork, steak, seafood. We shared and loved everything.
Very good time!
Date night and she suggested this place for her birthday. It was great! Awesome food, great service and ambiance I will definitely be back.
First time and can't wait to go back. Delicious food, great service, perfect ambiance.
Exceptional! Camarones en Aguacate and the Trucha are a must-try.
As a Cuban immigrant, I find that the food is very authentic. The best compliment I can give is that the food it’s like I’m eating at my mothers house!
I would strongly recommend a reservation. Some people were waiting about an hour for a table.
The food was good as always but our server was exceptionally attentive and helpful.
Only minor drawbacks: No non-alcoholic beers, no substitutes for the plantains, and only white rice (vs. Wild, brown, etc.). Overall, everyone raved about the food.
Service was great
Cuba de Ayer is a hole in the wall. A secret hideaway for authentic Cuban cuisine. The service was outstanding and the food superb. My friends had never eaten Cuban food before and they are most likely going to come back.
Always great ambiance and the food on its point. Being from the Caribbean this is the food that I missed the most. Cuba de Ayer provides me a mind escapade not only with the food but also with an authentic Cuban setting. Super clean and excellent service. The personnel was always so kind and smiling.
Loved it!! Great flavor and style
Not expensive, great food and courteous service. Parking is not the best but you'll forget all about that once you dine there .
My favorite place to eat and gather together! Good service and food as always.
Absolutely GREAT food. I have never had a bad meal. The atmosphere is wonderful and staff is impeccable
The food was pretty good, but mojito and margarita were both bad. Our server was nice but less than attentive. Everything was very, very overpriced. I won’t go back.
Food was amazing! Service was great! Will visit again for sure!
My favorite place with good food and service!
Best Cuban meal we’ve had since South Florida!👍🥰
Met with a former colleague to catch up and brainstorm business ideas. Perfect atmosphere. Great lighting. Love love love the mojitos.
Food was amazing. Service excellent as usual.
Outstanding food, ambiance, and service! A must visit. YUMMY
Great spot for authentic dining in a small town. I have been going for years and will continue to go.
A friend gave us a gift card to Cuba De Ayer so we thought we would give it a try, we are indebted to that friend now for introducing us to this amazing restaurant. The service was great and the food absolutely amazing!! Few times you can walk out of a place and say that was perfect, this for us was that place. Definitely recommend.
Food was delicious and service was great. I ordered the oxtail which was tender and flavorful We really enjoyed our meal and will surely go back soon
Always a great meal! Empanadas are a great way to start your meal.
My best pick ! Everything is served perfectly. Never let me down.
Wonderful as usual!
Everything was delicious. The sangria, camarones de ajilla and chocolate cake. I love the decor and ambiance.
Let me preface everything I’m about to type with the fact that I’m a Tampa native living up north, and I’m a Cuban food snob. I keep trying different places hoping to find the spot that does it just like home and more often than not, I end up disappointed.
We started off with a carafe of White Sangria. For our apps we ordered bread and butter and ham croquettes. Strange that bread and butter was an app and not something that was brought to the table, but a sign of the times I guess.
When the bread did come to the table it was a pleasant surprise because it appeared to be actual Cuban Bread. I’d love to find out where they order their bread from. Both Apps and Sangria were great.
Mains were, Bistec Empanizado for me and Boliche for the wife. Both were good. My steak was in the fryer about two minutes too long. Wife’s Boliche was a little tough. We also had a side of Yuca Frita which was excellent!
Cafe con leches, Flan and chocolate cake for dessert. Flan was good, cake was, well chocolate cake. Their appeared to be a minimal amount of cafe in the Cafe Con Leche. Served in a regular coffee cup, it was like a cup of warm milk. Not worth it from a cost or caffeine perspective
The real shortcoming was the service. It was SLOW. Every course took forever. We had no idea we’d be in for a 2 hour dining experience. Don’t know if this is a waitstaff issue or a kitchen issue, but it was not good. At one point, someone brought food to our table that wasn’t ours. One small thing, we mentioned on the reservation that this was our anniversary. There was no acknowledgement of that from the staff. Our waiter was polite, but distant. Manager walked by our table several times, but never asked if we were enjoying the meal.
Bottom line, is the food was pretty good Cuban food, but the service left a lot to be desired. Next time we get food from there, it will probably be delivery.
We have eaten at Cuba de Ayer numerous times. The service and the food continue to be first rate. It's no wonder that they contiunue to expand, and reservations are a must on the weekend.
Excellent food and service !
delicious food, great service, beautiful decor! Definitely recommend
We love this place and have never had such a bad experience here. Service was slow. Drink order was wrong. Food order was wrong. An appetizer was ordered but never received. 2 entrees were served 15 minutes before the second 2 entrees. Seems to be a shortage of staff and change of management.
I am a returning customer. Sat outside due to COVID and server was a bit inattentive at times. We dined for almost 2 hours and were never offered water refills or asked if we wanted more cocktails.
Shrimp and avocado in lemon and garlic sauce appetizer is a true winner and flavorful standard I am use to at Cuba de Ayer.
Snapper was bit lackluster to be served simply fried fillet style without any accompaniment, especially at the listed price. I ended up making it better by pairing with onions and peppers from my dining companions dish.
Guava and rum cake desserts were a great end to the night. This is one of my fave local go to's and I won't let one bland entrée deter coming again.
Perfect- consistently delicious food and drinks, and outdoor seating!
Always a great experience at Cuba!
Love the outdoor tent with fans. Food and service consistantly excellent.
