Reservations are accepted ONLY for the CRUSH winebar (not "kitchenbar") for parties of up to 10 guests.
We have been coming here for years and tonight was a total disappointment. The food came out burned and none of us ate at the same time. The seasoned waitress who was doing the training was hands off and left the poor trainee out on a limb. May be a long time until we return sadly. They need a manager on sight who can deal with any issues. Bad night for this restaraunt!
Calamari was excellent, salad tasty, pizza baked to long, pasta was bland
Only issue we had was it wad cold and rainy that night and every time some one came in, so did a cold rush of air. Food was great.
We had never been to Crush and went there to celebrate my retirement. We were pleasantly greeted at the door, promptly seated, and the service was outstanding. Our waiter suggested the PERFECT wine for our dinner and our steak was cooked to perfection. If you see the Porterhouse for 2 on the menu, order it. You won't be disappointed! We topped it off with a heavenly lava cake. Thanks Crush, we will be back.
Our table was so small it barely accommodated our food. I specifically asked in reserving not to sit close to the bar but near the wall as we had that same experience last time we dined there, it is very noisy to the point you can barely hold a conversation. In addition, the seating between tables is so narrow that our chair backs were touching the patrons behind us on either side. I love this place but in reality, they have tried to maximize profits by putting too many tables in too small an area. Drinks are good, food is wonderful, waitress was "meh"...very absent. Next time going back to the Zinc.
I live in Sandusky, and it is my favorite restaurant!
Food was fantastic, especially the bouillabaisse! Apparently the chef did a lot of research to find the best recipe and it paid off! Also, nice wine selection with good prices. Our waitress was wonderful too--I wish I could remember her name--maybe Emily? We would be regulars if we didn't live 2 hours away!
Took 55 minutes to get very simple entree; waitress claimed it was because they were so busy; restaurant was less than half full when we ordered. When we arrived waitress asked if we had show tickets (we did) and said she would move things along. After about 30 minutes, she disappeared from sight and we sent another staff member to find her at the 50 minute mark. Drink refills were not offered during the wait nor was there any interaction. There was never any apology of any kind, she only said that it was because they were so busy. We ate in 20 minutes, leaving 10 to walk to the show three doors down.
Our waiter did a great job- very personable - although the salad that I ordered was the wrong salad brought to me and then I had to 'hunt down' our waiter to let him know.
My husband and I only ordered sushi and it took over an hour to get it. That was VERY disappointing. We were seated 6:50, by 7:00 we placed our order, and we didn't get our sushi until 8:15.
If we return, it will only be for cocktails.
Great meal and dining experience.
Service and food was overall fine, but we had a very long wait for food to get to our table.
Disappointed. Food did not come out at the same time, was not what was ordered, and was very poor quality. Server made excuses for food timing and incorrectness. We’ve been here multiple times and always liked it, but will not be returning anytime soon.
When we arrived we were promptly seated. We ordered our drinks and food and recieved our drinks right away without any issue. However it took over 1 hour and fifteen minutes to receive our dinners. The waitress was very apologetic and blamed it on 2 large parties that arrived before us and also a chef that was out sick. When we finally received our food it was mediocre. My pizza was burnt and my sister's pasta was flavorless. The waitress did give all 4 of us a free dessert which were also mediocre. The food should taste better for the pricetag.
We celebrated our anniversary, this is becoming a tradition for us. We enjoy the intimate atmosphere and excellent service and food.
may favorite restaurant! Food and Ambiance are top notch! Try the beets and scallops! The mac and cheese us Amazing!
The wait staff here is very attentive. Everything was delicious from the featured drinks right through to the pineapple upside down cake for dessert. My family’s favorite is the calamari.
Wonderful evening- great food, service and environment!
My sister and I came into celebrate her Birthday and it was amazing!🎂🎊🎉😊😍
Excellent food, service, wine and music. Did not feel rushed, able to enjoy the meal along with the music.
quiet night on a Sunday - one small group and us. The server was a young female - pleasant enough but needs more training. eg brought out our main while we were still eating the appetizers; asked if we wanted more wine, after we said "no" she walked away leaving 3 empty glasses on the table.
Food is very good so don't be put off by this. lots of wine to choose a tasting menu as well as a full bar and cocktails. Seafood linguine had spinach or pesto pasta with lots of seafood and a creamy sauce, bacon wrapped dates yum and butternut squash soup was very good.
Always a great experience when I come to CRUSH! My drinks were amazing the White Cosmo was the best🍸🍸!
wife's meal was way too large and not very tender thus she only ate 1/4 of it, my special was excellent. unfortunately we were at Crush for her birthday at her request. We will make Crush a second choice next time.
Always amazing food and wine!🍷🍸🥩🥔
Great restaurant with consistent good food and service. Been a customer for years. Menu needs updating!
Crush is a great place to eat with a menu that accomodates small plates, Sushi, great salads and a nice steak or fresh fish option.
Great food and drinks. Our server was very helpful and did a wonderful job.
Went for my bday and it was amazing!
Promptly seated on a Saturday night; small plates & pizza for dinner; good pours on the glasses of wine.... Food + Drink + tip = $78
Great food and service! I appreciated the quiet noise levels even being sat near the bar. The OpenTable info is outdated for the better...meaning that you can make reservations and get the same experience and menu for the "kitchen" or "wine bar" areas. The menu is not huge but offers good variety (ranging from delicious sushi and cheese plates all the way to 32 oz porterhouses!) and the server was very attentive. If I had to complain (simply due to personal preference), I like my wine ice cold and they was more on the "moderately cool" side minus the mimosa (my glasses consisted of rosés and sparkling/bubblies/champagnes) and they were out of brownies. Be sure to visit for a relaxed, yet classy meal!
We were in Lakeside for a retreat and found Crush on Yelp. Highly recommend it. One of the best seafood meals I’ve had in a long time. Will return next year.
Exceptional Service and Outstanding
Checked in early for reservation and asked to be seated by the bar where there were several vacant tables. Informed that wouldn't be possible because those tables were for customers with reservations??. Seated in another room which although was quiet wouldn't have been my preference--. Very eclectic menu-pizza , pasta, small plates to steaks and chops. We had olives, colds beets and pizza which were tasty.
Sarah was amazing!! Truly a gem in downtown Sandusky! We will definitely be back next time we’re in the area!!!
The bartender Sam was amazing as always!😍❤ We will be back!!!!
Overall the service was lacking. First, they were unable to locate reservation, only to find out they gave our table to someone else. Then had to wait quite awhile before a server came to table. Once getting food, got the wrong order. So was not a great experience.
Very chic. Loved the atmosphere. Food was outstanding. Waitress was a little slow gettting is the check. She was a chatty caddy with another table for about ten minutes. But the restaurant rocked.
We had an enjoyable dinner experience. Service was good along with the food.
The service at Crush is amazing. The food follows right behind. They have a variety of foods to choose from. You must try this place! You will be back.
We've been to Crush a few times and this time was just as enjoyable. We asked for a quieter spot so we could enjoy gathering with friends. The accommodated this and gave us space and time. The food is wonderful. We love the small plates and so much variety. It is a must repeat spot.
