Crudo Wood Fired Taverna Ratings and Reviews
I've been here twice, and had problems both times. The first time the waitress spilled a drink on me and it was NOT taken off the bill. The second time, after waiting 30 min. for the waitress to appear, she claimed that the credit card system was down and we could only stay and eat if we had cash. We did, so we stayed. The entire lunch took 2 1/2 hours because service was so bad. We never saw the waitress and had to flag down a manager when we needed the bill because we had an appointment to get to.
We hadn't been here in about a year, but it was just as tasty as we remember. Fish dishes were nicely prepared and very yummy.
However, even though the two risottos underneath our two different fish specials had different descriptions, they were exactly the same! Also, there is a push to get the special of the day "since you never know when we will have that on the menu again." The fish specials were about $38 each vs. the regular salmon on the menu that I was considering for at least $10 less. We had a nice evening out and the food was delicious but we felt a little "taken" by the quasi hard sell on the specials. Plus, they never tell you the price of the specials... and I usually don't feel comfortable asking.
It's been a while since we've been to Crudo. We found the food better than ever! The crostini is always good. We had the lobster ravioli and the lamb chops and both were outstanding. We had a server that was super. She was very efficient and very friendly. They have nice wines on the wine list even though the list is short. Overall, it was one of the best meals we've had for some time. We plan to go back soon!
My husband and i were seated in the middle of the walkway with people passing on both sides of our table; wait staff and customers. I was not a fan of that. The lobster ravioli came out with some hot and some cold, and not worth the price. But the calamari and pizza my husband ordered were delicious! I just can’t validate the cost vs the experience. It was busy so i doubt my lack of future plans to go back will hurt their bottom line.
Crudo continues to be our favorite Frisco eating establishment. Great quality, good service, nice environment, and diverse menu. nice bar area and some live music on selected nights. A hidden gem and one we don't go to enough. We have never been disappointed at lunch or dinner at Crudo.
Our first time here, the place was rather busy on Black Friday dinner. We were properly seated with water and menus. Server was very knowledgeable and personable. Complementary focaccia from their wood oven was innovative in style and very tasty. While our appetizers were good, they came out very sporadically over the course of 10 minutes. Crabcakes were very good as well as the onion soup.
Everyone ordered a variety of entrées, with the salmon and meatballs (appetizer done as an entrée) considered favorites. Two different pasta dishes were ordered and while they are using very good ingredients, the sauces had too much cheese for our preference. Would retry again.
Warm greeting by hostess, and table was ready on time!! Enjoyed the calamari appetizer. Entrées were salmon, and blackened shrimp/scallops, both were excellent. Total tab with wine, apps, entree, and desert was around $100. Overall rating 4.5+ is well deserved.
Their chicken parmesan was out of this world, excellent! I would say it's the best I have ever had. Our server was great, very attentive, really excellent as well.
I highly recommend this restaurant. That said, it's not inexpensive by any stretch. However, if you're paying a lot more than a normal family style restaurant you expect more by way of the food. And these folks not only stepped up to the plate, they knocked it out of the park! Excellent place to go! We'll be back again soon!
The food was great. Very interesting combinations and flavors. The service was fantastic. Our server was helpful, made suggestions, and even offered to request a special request of the chef. Service and food was the highlight.
The restaurant is pretty small, and felt a little cramped. Due to that, it gets pretty loud.
This place is amazing. It has great food and great atmosphere. Service is also really good. If you have something to celebrate come to this place. Really good menu and always great specials beside their menu. I've been there twice and can't wait to go back again
Had been to Osteria Panevino numerous times, and knew that Crudo was the chef's original restaurant in Frisco. I have been wanting to plan a business lunch here for a long time, and I wasn't disappointed. The menu was similar with the addition of the Crudo options. I opted for a salad this time (the Cobb Tower), but it was made perfectly.
First time visit so did not know what to expect. Overall the food was delicious and well presented. Our sever Filipe was the best. Very helpful and knowledgeable.
Now I know why it is a Taverna.
We were seated in the bar which I did not like. If I wanted to go to a bar with all the commotion and noise to would have. I would like to go to the restaurant again but if I am seated in the bar I will not stay nor will I go back.
The quality of the food and service deserves better space with a noise level that is tolerable.
Having been to this restaurant over dozen times, I feel like I'm pretty qualified to comment on it. It has been slipping and continues to slip. I've yet to be there that a waiter didn't drop a plate or tray of food on the floor with a loud crash that startles everybody. The tables are crammed so close together you feel like you're with a random group of people. The cheap menus (which never change) look like they've been handled by 1,000 people before you. Try to ask for any special treatment as a regular and you're sure to be disappointed. The staff are throw-aways from TruFire across the street. The location is really all this restaurant has going for it.
We had a great time at Crudo. The wine recommendation was exceptional; Hourglass. There were too many good looking items on the menu to try them all. The ribeye crostini was delicious. The caprese was also great, but needed a better tomato and some salt. Loved the paperadelle.
