Crudo Wood Fired Taverna
I’m not mad..... I’m disappointed!
From the old / cold ribeye on our crostini appetizer to the funky tasting maple chicken with poorly cooked vegetables to the $42 seafood paella that was marginal at best. We were disappointed and won’t be going back to Crudo....
We eat out a lot and truly enjoy a great meal; this was one of the worst meals we have had since moving to the DFW area. I am glad it was only my wife and I at dinner tonight, I would have been embarrassed had we brought family or friends here.
We always go to Crudo when we want a lovely and special adult night out. It never disappoints. Great food, love the live music, excellent service! Romantic but not over the top! Best restaurant in Frisco!
I moved from Frisco about a year ago and decided to invite a work associate to join me at Crudo. The food was delicious and the service was great. I would totally recommend this for family and business.
New bartenders apparently and simple cocktails took a min of 45 min. Unacceptable. Still charged. Food took forever as well and the restaurant was not busy enough to warrant the slow service. Waitress was great. Definitely out of her control but the kitchen and bar need to get it together
Food was amazing ! Service was awful. Our server started the dinner by telling us she used to get paid more in CA as a server than she gets paid in TX. Found that pretty distasteful and awkward as she was clearly fishing for a good tip and I was more than willing to do so if the service was good but I was terrible, took 45 mins just to order starters because she was too busy talking with other tables she had touched multiple times before coming back over to us.
Had to flag down other servers to order the starter main and dessert. Also after being there for almost 3 hours, we had to give out card to pay to the hostess because she never came back to our table.
2 tables got up and left because she never spoke to them and many others were just as frustrated with her lack of service and attention as us.
I love the food and ambiance of this place and come often,
But this server (Shawnah) is no good.
Service was horrible. Salads and entrees came out quick. Scallops were too salty. Waters went empty. Then it took 40 minutes to get dessert and our check. To make matters worse our server kept running in the restaurant...right by our table. We have too many choices of restaurants in The area and won’t be back.
Food was great! The prices were as expected for upscale Italian, especially seafood. Service was pretty good. It's a nice restaurant for a date or a small group of adults.
The food was tasty but the live music made the night. Nice smooth tunes to compliment dinner
Excellent food! Great service! Excellent attention to all the details big and small. A perfect location for an outstanding date night.
Great food and great atmosphere!
Food was great and service was outstanding. Will definitely recommend to family, friends, and colleagues.
This was our first time at Crudo, and we felt like it was some of the best Italian food we've tasted from the salad with polenta croutons to the lobster filled ravioli, topped with crab, scallop and shrimp. Excellent!!!
Great Atmosphere & Great Food!!!
Love that this is a local place; small and more intimate than many others. Felt well taken cared for my both the waiter and the owner/manager who stopped by to chat and ask about everything. The gnocchi was pillow soft! The wine suggestion was spot on. Well done.
I prefer this place when no live music so you can really have conversation. Otherwise you need to sit in the separate room.
Excelente comida , costoso el Rest pero pagas calidad .
Everyone was very attentive, friendly and efficient. Our server, Kellee was awesome.
We enjoyed the atmosphere. The food was delicious.
My husband and I have been coming to Crudo since it opened. The food preparation, in our opinion, is dwindling. Example: Crudo used to make an amazing mushroom risotto - the risotto was fully cooked and flavors delightful. This time, Thursday 10/3/19, it was not fully cooked and we couldn’t experience the flavor because it was drowned in the sauce used for the scallops. Example 2: We ordered creme brûlée for dessert - the top was over-torched and the inside wasn’t set. So basically burnt vanilla soup. Example 3: Tried to order after dinner cappuccino - but the machine was broken (still from the last time we were there a month ago). Our server was wonderful, setting was lovely as usual and the base ingredients were all fresh - it was just the prep and execution that left us really disappointed.
Very average food for a not so average price. Two drinks (house wine and Tito’s martini), split an appetizer, salad and main course, $90. Service was fine. Ambience is good.
Our second visit. We had a fantastic meal, great service and treated to live music.
One of our favorite places in Frisco. Food is always great and on point. Drinks are good.
The food is very good and the service was pretty good. Drinks and food took a while and the tables in the bar area against the wall are very small and super close together. You definitely make friends with the people on either side of you.
One of our favorite places for birthdays and special occasions. Food is always excellent no matter what you order. Service is great and they are very attentive. It is always busy so I would recommend a reservation.
The food was amazing! The salmon and onion soup were some of the best we have had. But the service is slow and erratic. We waited 15-20 minutes to get our drinks. Then tables sat after us were served before we were. They need more waitstaff. But the food is superb!!
Way too noisy to have a reasonable dinner conversation. Other than that everything was good.
Food good, service not good.
Very loud. Plus reservation was not ready.
The restaurant was about 2/3 full when our party of four arrived. By the time we had finished ordering, it was full, and was clearly understaffed despite being a Friday evening at prime dinner hours. While quick to deliver our drinks, food service was relatively slow, and we had to ask multiple times to get our water refilled - which we only successfully received once. The food was either really good or REALLY bad. The stuffed shrimp and the grilled salmon were both delicious, although the brussel sprouts accompanying the salmon were severely underseasoned and undercooked. As a starter, the caprese "tower" was flavorful, but a tower would normally mean more than two slices of tomato and two slices of cheese. Finally, the veal meatballs -- painfully dry, no flavor, and gritty enough to be used as sandpaper. It's the first time we'd sent something back to the kitchen in years.
Overall, it's a decent restaurant, but for the prices (which aren't terrible), we'd expect better consistency in food quality and much better service (which, again, was mostly due to low staffing levels - it didn't seem to be a lack of effort by our servers and other staff).
Food is consistently good!
Normally I love Crudo, but had a terrible meal the last time. My $33 steak was served covered in brown gravy(which I hate) rather than the gorgonzola butter it was suppose to be served with. When I mentioned to the server she took it back and supposedly had it fixed but all they did is scrape is off and plop a glob of cheese on it, but by this time the steak was already cold. Huge disappointment!
As always, love going to Crudo for a homey, delicious meal. Love the entertainment during the week, particularly the Wednesday night singer! I would highly recommend it any day of the week.
Everything was great as always, and will definitely be back.
Crudo has changed since our last visit. Service was slow and inattentive. The wine list was limited. They used to have a much larger selection. Each time the front door opened the room was flooded with sunlight. Later it became too dark to adequately see the table. Some one played with the lights causing them to go up, then down. On the upside: The food was great. One steak was overcooked but was replaced with one properly cooked. It was tender and tasty. The Sea Bass special was outstanding but over priced. It is too bad that this has happened to a once great place. It had been a favorite.
Amazing atmosphere for date night! Excellent wine menu, live music, service, and food. My husband and I ordered a couple of non-dairy specialty items and they were perfect. We'll definitely return!
Food is always spot on and the waiter and waitress always check on us to see if everything is ok. They have great suggestions when we cannot make up our minds. We go there to unwind from the week and listen to the musician.
Food and drinks were perfect! Ambiance and live music were also on point.
We celebrated two birthdays and they did a great job with it. However the dishes are overpriced for the portion sizes.
Got the order wrong and the vege was anything I could buy at the grocery store.
VERY HOTl!!! Felt like no AC at all. Complained to staff but no action taken. This the 2nd time we've been here and same issue both times; don't think we will make a 3rd trip.
Drink service was a bit slow. Otherwise the rest of our service was very good.
Wonderful Food! Sat near kitchen, little warm, but was fun watching chiefs work their magic. Got a chance to talk to the owner, great experience.
