Cru-Fort Myers Ratings and Reviews
We had a reservation and when we checked in we asked to sit outside. It took the server about 10 minutes before he came with water or even acknowledged us. Once we had contact with him he was attentive. We sat outside in the plaza, it would be nice to have a candle on the table, and to have the onside blocked off so you don't have pedestrians walking through your dinner. The food was very good and we had a wonderful bottle of wine.
We ate at CRU on a Friday night before a show in Fort Myers. It is located in the BellTower Shops, down towards Bed, Bath and Beyond, (which would've been good to know before hand for parking!) Our server, Sean, was outstanding. The Roasted Brussels Sprouts with Szechuan peanut butter and candied pecans were delicious and the Chicken Soup with Bone Broth and Roasted Chicken so richly flavorful... My husband and stepdaughter had the salmon and I had the Grilled Artisan Romaine Caesar with chunks of Bacon, Pistou and Asiago...delicious. We'll definitely go back again. The only downside to this lovely restaurant: we had an early dinner and ate on their patio, towards the inside of the BellTower mall. There were some folks strolling, which was nice, but also several apparently unattended children racing around, one older brother running and pushing a younger one in a BB&B shopping cart, and another couple having a fight as they walked down the mall. You get what you get when you table is in the public domain...and though it was a lovely, warm night I think next time we'll dine inside. The food and the service make this restaurant well worth it.
It was one of the worst experience at a restaurant we’ve ever had. From beginning with the girl at the front which refuse to give us a decent table and stated we needed reservations which we had so it made no sense. Second the food was just absolutely horribly tasting. The salad was apparently washed so much of the extremely soggy. We will not be returning
This was our first time at Cru Restaurant. I had walked past your place a few times while out shopping, and noticed quite a few people there during HAPPY HOUR seeming to enjoy themselves. Looked like a happy crowd, so I knew I'd have try you out sometime. The other night was perfect. My manager was here for a meeting with my husband and I, and we decided to go out for dinner. All three of us like good food, good wine and pleasant atmosphere. We got all three and more at Cru. thank you for your wonderful hospitality!
Lovely dinner for 4. I love that Cru is usually quiet, but this time there was a rowdy bunch at the bar having fun. Our server was helpful without being intrusive. The salads were crispy. From seafood to steaks, everything was perfectly prepared. We’ll be back.
We find Cru to be one of the gems of Fort Myers! The food is unique among local offerings and delicious. We went before the Tree Lighting with an 8 month old baby. I had asked for a high chair in the comments section of Open Table and it was all set up when we arrived! That was impressive, usually you have to stand there and wait for someone to bring it over. Cru has delivered over the years and continues to do so.
Truly, there aren’t a lot of finer dining options in the Ft Myers area. My husband and I chose Cru to try something new. Travis, our server, was the highlight of the experience. He was professional, not overly involved and knowledgable. All that being said, the decor is reminiscent of something Disney’s would have done at the opening of Future World. Very dated, black/white/silver, some water (?) damage visible in the main dining room. Food was underwhelming. My husband started with a chicken liver pate, “Meh...” was his comment. His entree was a duck breast, about which he again was not enthused. I ordered the cauliflower Mac-n-cheese and brussel sprouts. The former was good; the latter lacked discernible flavor. As an aside, the bar scene was beyond vibrant. Might be worth considering if that’s your gig.
This restaurant was recommended to us by my niece who lives in Fort Myers. It was my husband's birthday and it couldn't have been more perfect. Our waiter was very attentive but not bothersome. The wine list was very appealing and the food was delicious. Highly recommend for just about any occasion.
Disappointing. Very echo-ey. Condensation from AC vent was dripping on me. Had to move entire table over. Finished entire glass of wine before cheese tray appetizer was served. FOOD VERY DISAPPOINTING.. How could this restaurant be ranked Top 10 best. Waiter vas very polite, had that going but really nothing else. Will not Be back.
I had seen the tapas menu on line so I was surprised to get the menu and there were no tapas or reference to them. We had a wonderful waiter who explained the tapas were served in the bar area but we could get the tapas in the dining room. He gladly brought us the menu so I'm still not clear why the tapas menu wasn't served with the regular menu. Many people who come to the restaurant for the first time might not have any idea about the tapas menu and they would be missing a great experience. There were two of us and we each made two choices and enjoyed everything we ordered.
We were greeted promptly but when seated? No one came to our table until I asked for a server. Once our server came? He was friendly and professional and knew the wine and menu well. The food? Was by far the best part of the experience. It was wonderful. Portions were a bit small but I expected that based on tapas concept. The atmosphere? Needs to be tidied up a bit. Sloppy service areas, and it didn't seem that clean. Almost like eating in a night club. Also the layout of the restaurant is too closed off. Everywhere you look? There is the back of something: the bar, a wall, a service area. Could use a refresh on the decor to lighten and open it up. But the food will have me coming back....it saved it. Bravo to the chefs!
