Great and cozy place tucked away in an old house from the colonial era. The food was top notch, and the truffle mussels among the best I’ve ever had! Would definitely come back!

Always a favorite place for lunch and also a great place to take out of town guests. The Shrimp BLT always high on our list and the ginger/carrot/coconut soup was delicious as an accompaniment. Two of us had the General Tso's chicken and loved it. Love this place!

I had the butter lettuce salad with Gorgonzola cheese, beets, roared pears, walnuts, grilled chicken topped with Honey Sherry Vinaigrette. Delicious! He had the Ginger Glazed Salmon and it looked divine and he it certainly was.

Everything on Cru’s menu is delicious but my fav entree is the salmon. So good. Service is knowledgeable and friendly. It’s a small place so a little snug:)

Our group of eight chose Cru Cafe because of it’s great reviews and proximity to the Gaillard Center, where we had show tickets. The restaurant exceeded all of our expectations - which were high to begin with. Our server was friendly and professional, and our dinners were uniformly outstanding. My grilled basil shrimp dish was delicious, and a friend who also ordered it agreed. Others raved about the grilled C.A.B. NY strip and the seared sea scallops. No one was disappointed. Highly recommend this restaurant and will return!

We go to Cru Cafe whenever we visit Charleston ... food is always great... it’s time however for them to change their lunch menu a little

My dinner and birthday celebration was awesome. All 4 of my party enjoyed their entrees and are still talking about how delicious they were. The mussels and calamari were the best and enjoyed as apps. Love CRU and highly recommend for celebration of any kind!!!!

The food was delicious and creative. We had the scallops and the duck. Portions are generous and satisfying. The staff are friendly and attentive. We were very happy with our experience.

This was our first meal in Charleston. A friend recommended Cru so we made a same-day reservation. We were seated right away in a charming dining room. Our server was just delightful- incredibly attentive without being intrusive. The food was outstanding. My daughter enjoyed the most delicious salmon and risotto she’s ever had. Highly recommend.

Beware that your reservation could involve a lengthy wait. This is a small restaurant with no bar or place to wait for your reservation. What was especially disappointing is there was a table with seating for our party open that remained open for most of our 30 minute wait time. I understand that a small restaurant is at the mercy of diners leaving in a timely manner, but waiting an extended period of time with a table of the same size as my reservation remaining open was very irritating and marred our dining experience.

The food was creative and excellent, and wait staff were very good. The restaurant did comp our desserts because of our wait, which was appreciated. I would definitely give this restaurant a try; however, my husband would not because of our experience.

I like this place: great interior design, great food and great service. It was still busy at around 9pm on a Saturday night, so I had to wait for 15+ minutes until being served, despite a reservation.

Fabulous food, great ambiance. They don’t handle well folks who first enter. We had to go out of our way to get someone’s attention when we arrived, and we already had a reservation. Even after that, we waited five min before someone approached us again to help us find a seat. I would be offended, but it happened to another group during our dinner. And it’s an awkward entrance area. But once you sit down the experience is much better.

Birthday lunch, amazing food. Had tomato basil soup and French dip sandwich. My husband had General Tso’s chicken. Had to try a side of the four cheese macaroni... it was superb. A very small cafe so be sure to make a reservation, you’ll be glad you went. Everything was delicious!!

Our party of 4 thoroughly enjoyed our experience at Cru Cafe. It was our first visit there. What a find! Yes, it was crowded and full of energy when we walked in, but it was a fun environment nonetheless. We had a reservation and the host seated us at the appointed time. We had a fun and knowledgeable server who took great care of us. The food was outstanding. Nicely presented and delicious. 2 of our folks had the grilled pork chop, which the proclaimed the best they had ever eaten. All in all a memorable epicurian adventure.

Charming house with great food. We had a small group and enjoyed the ambiance. We shared the fried green tomatoes and the mozzarella and tomato, both were very good. The gnocchi, salads and their take on Chicken Keiv were awesome. Everything was fresh, hot and delicious. Servers were knowledgeable, made great suggestions and friendly. I would definitely return, there were other items on the menu I'd like to try.

I had a lovely birthday dinner at Cru. The Fried Green Tomatoes were the best I’ve ever eaten and salmon with lemon risotto was cooked perfectly! It’s been years since we’d eaten at Cru but after this meal we will definitely be back soon !

Second time at Cru. Fresh and delicious food.

The food and service were spectacular. The mushroom bisque was the best we had ever tasted. I had the fried goat cheese salad with perfect grilled salmon and it was delicious! My daughter’s Caesar salad was also very good. We will definitely be back when we are in town!

Small and rather intimate setting. The fried green tomatoes were out of this world. The mussel appetizer was great as well.
