CR's The Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
Then menu is quite diverse, however although I am tempted to get many different items on the menu, I have gotten the veal chop both times. It is excellent. Quality is very consistent. Staff is professional while be pleasant and friendly. My wife raves about the chicken piccata as well as the risotto. The fresh made donut wholes are delightful as they appear to vary the filling.
Several weeks ago we took a recommendation from a family friend and wandered the area to locate the restaurant. we were very pleased with the layout of the restaurant and stayed for lunch. the lunch was very good, we both had fish for lunch. at that time, we made plans to take our adult children for a night out. there were six of us on our last visit, which we all enjoyed very much.
Thanksgiving Day 2017. What can I say except FANTASTIC. Our server was so polite and professional, the food was outstanding. I chose the Prime Rib since I am not a fan of Turkey, and it was done perfectly and the taste was to die for. We stayed around 2 hours, and never felt rushed. Everything was delicious, not rushed for a holiday like you would think it would be, and the service was very polished. Ambiance was quiet, adults, and the lighting was perfect. Will definitely go back and recommend to my friends.
CR is one of my go-to places. This occasion was a quiet get-to-know date. Ambiance was the usual CR classy-- BUT the live musicians were TOO LOUD! Live music can be played quietly and in a place like CR its much more consistent with the setting. From now on I will enquire whether there will be live music before I book a table... and I am a musician!
The attentive service was outstanding! We were seated in a booth which was kind of tight and they did not have another table. My friends gave the hostess their coats and then she came back and took mine and made sure it was with my friends' so when we left she brought them all out!We ordered our meals and got our drinks and appetizers and then the people at the table across the way left. Well, the wait staff came right over to clean and set the table up and then the hostess came over and moved us over so we could have more room!!!! It was great! They were so nice! The food was yummy....nothing was out of place. We even ordered dessert and took some home. I have nothing but great things to say about this restaurant. When we were one they gave us chocolate and on the way out the door was a large bowl of Lindt chocolate balls!!! I did notice that everyone who worked at the restaurant that we walked past on the way out wished us a nice night. So friendly and accommodating!
We had the Restaurant Week three course meal, and it was superb! The value was remarkable, and we loved the food. Our server did a great job of checking with the chef to change a vegetable. Everything arrived right when we expected it and perfectly prepared. Great place!
My wife and I enjoy this restaurant so much that we invited friends from Massachusetts to come and experience it. As we predicted, the service and food were exceptional. My veal chop was cooked to perfection. Our server Kim recommended a Cabernet that was outstanding and we ordered a second bottle as well. This is the best restaurant that Hampton has to offer and you should try it for a very nice evening.
Have visited CR'S many times, the place is first class from the hostess to the server and the overall comfort feel is relaxing. The menu selection is great however I always seem to pick my favorite which is the pan seared scallops with home made gnocchi's that are nothing short of "wow". I always tell myself to try something different, I know I will eventually. This visit was to celebrate our anniversary and they treated us with a spectacular desert that was nothing short of "Awesome". Always look forward to returning
Returned again this year to celebrate my mother in law's 96 birthday. The staff was attentive from start to finish, from hostess, to waitress, and special recognition by owner, Chuck, aka CR.
The handicapped accessibility is the best I have seen and a smooth ride on the walker from car to booth. The food was fabulous with a wonderful cobb salad and excellent dessert we shared. The attention truly made this a beautiful celebration. Thank you .
Excellent food and atmosphere! The only thing that wasn't perfect was the hostess not acknowledging our presence for several minutes. She ignored us while she took a phone call - obviously not a multi-tasker. The brunch menu offers unique items worthy of a repeat visit.
From the moment we walked in the staff were friendly and courteous. They were able to easily accommodate my reservation requests and we were seated quickly. The food was phenomenal from the appetizer to the entree and the desserts handmade in house. The server was quick, friendly, and didn’t make us feel like we were just another table. We weren’t rushed and spent over an hour between sitting and just enjoying the ambiance. I never write reviews because I rarely find the experience memorable, that being said I can’t help but recommend this restaurant to anyone who is looking for a night out in a classy establishment with great food. Definitely visiting again.
It took a VERY long time for our appetizer to come and not until we asked about it did the server then go to the kitchen to find out about it. Then it took a bit longer to get our appetizer. Had to send one of the meals back and by the time it came back, the other two meals were more than ½ eaten. This is unusual for this place as usually we have had good luck here. Quite surprised and we were disappointed as the third person was there for the first time.
Very underwhelming bowl of beef vegetable soup. When I commented on the lack of beef to the waiter, he said yes, I’ve been hearing this a lot!! Perhaps a little heads up might have been nice. It was only $7 but worth perhaps $2. Oh well , we like the restaurant every time we have been there previously, just not the soup or the lackadaisical waiter!!
We were celebrating the birthday of one of our dear friends. We always choose where we want to go on our special day and the "birthday girl" chose CR's! The food was good but three of us had French fries that were overcooked and not up to CR's standards. That is the only reason for the three star rating.
We made reservations for the holiday brunch! Wonderful atmosphere!
We had a wonderful meal on a busy Saturday evening in October. Our waitress was excellent and really stayed on top of everything. Both my husband and I had prime rib with both au jus and a horseradish cream sauce. I substituted mushroom risotto for mashed potatoes, and wow! I will be ordering that side again! Prime rib was cooked as ordered and tender. Our friend had the seasonal pork schnitzel and raved about it. We also ordered brussel sprouts with bacon for the table -- also a hit. The restaurant was hopping -- really busy, but rather than posing a problem, the staff handled it expertly and there was really good energy. We go here a few times a year, and we are never disappointed.
Overall our expeience here was good. Our waitress was entertaining as well as informative. She stayed on top of things without being intrusive.
Unfirrunately, I can not say the same for the bartender. I tried to order drinks for our party when we arrived (we got there 20 mins early so we could have a cocktail at the bar) after waiting several minutes for her to even acknowledge us, I told her the first drink out of three. She left and started mixing it. She returned with the one drink and I told her there were actually three of us. She then have us a smear and said she would be back. She left, cleared a spot where two people had left, say two more and took there drink order. That's when I spoke up and said "EXCUSE ME" she looked over and said be there in a minute.
If we had not been tired from a busy day, we would have left right then.
Everything was spectacular. However, the bread and butter/spreads to start the meal set the stage in an unbelievable fashion. I would return simply for that. Each dish was as good as the next . Wish we had room for dessert because they sounded wonderful. Hope to return on my next trip to Portland, Maine. WOW!
