Crow's Nest - Hotel Captain Cook
Absolutely awesome. They were so kind to write a birthday card as well as a handcrafted plate saying Happy Birthday. They were thrilled a youngster chose their restaurant to celebrate his birthday.
I am originally from Alaska have been going to the Crow’s Nest for years, and took my boyfriend, his father, and my father out for an early father’s day dinner, a very special occasion to celebrate father’s day and the end to a great fishing trip.
The found and drinks were of course fantastic, but I was disappointed with the service this time around.
First, I called to make sure we were getting a window table, and confirmed with the hostess that the table was on the city/mountain side. When we got there, they showed us to our table on the waterfront. Since we had already had a waterfront view meal at another restaurant, I wanted to show them the other view. The hostess mearly said “oh, sorry about that.”
Second, our waiter seemed distracted and “too busy” the entire time, and when we asked for bread, he said “I have a certain order in which I bring things out.” To which I said, “that’s great, can we please have some bread?”
This was a special occasion and I brought my boyfriend and our dads to cap off an amazing trip together. The levle if service was not what anyone would expect at such a high-end restaurant.
quality of service seems to be going downhill. I am local patron and have dined there fore many special occasions and no longer feels like a special place to celebrate any occasion.
Food was well prepared, portions small, price high, view spectacular. I would recommend having a drink in the bar.
Wonderful service food ambiance the view is incredible
I love paella and was very disappointed that it wasn't more flavorful. Although the tableside presentation was fun, I wouldn't recommend ordering it. Since my husband and I shared it I can't comment on any of the other entrees.
Service was slower than expected but overall we had a good experience.
Food was superb! Our server, Taysia (sp?) was great!!! Sommelier, Tom (?), gave great wine information to help us choose. The view is EXCELLENT! Perfect anniversary celebration and beginning to our Alaska vacation!
I ate there once 30+ years ago when I was working in Anchorage. I’ve had fond memories of it ever since. Back in Alaska after a cruise and had the opportunity to take my parents there. It was lovely, even better than I remembered.
Food was excellent and service was very good as expected. Service and ambiance was not as great as when we dined on Tuesday the same week; because it was a Friday and the restaurant had more customers?
It was a perfect meal. And the view was spectacular.
Service was excellent. The halibut and scallop dinners were very good. The view with the mountains in the background were tremendous.
Food and service was as good as I expected from one of the best places for dinner.
We were looking forward to a great dining experience but were extremely disappointing!!! Our waiter seemed too busy to attend to us. Long waits in between the water delivery and taking our order. Somewhere in between the assistant brought bread. The food was good but not what was expected for the price. The scenic view was nice and sadly the best experience we had. having heard it was to be a dining experience from the time we entered. Sorry. We won’t go back.
Visited in May 2018...service was excellent, local seafood including the Kodiak Scallops were fantastic and love the traditional table side prep of the delicious bananas flambe! You definitely want to make reservations in advance and ask for a booth with a window water view if possible!
Great service, awesome food. thanks Chelsea
Excellent service. Great Somm. Wonderful food with lots of local seafood. Great views.
Beautiful views. Impeccable service. Delicious!
Retirement dinner. Rib steaks and scallops were all delicious. Surprisingly there wasn’t much difference in price. Drink prices seemed high.
The Crow's Nest has an impeccable reputation as the finest dining in Anchorage and we were not disappointed. They already had fresh salmon and halibut that was very tasty, to go along with an excellent and diverse wine list. The view was lovely in a warm, pleasant setting.
Loved everything about this restaurant!
An excellent experience. The restaurant is lovely with 180 degree views. We sat in a booth on the sunny side.
The food was wonderful. Salad, bisque and paella for two. All was fresh and delicious.
The service was also wonderful, attentive, warm and very welcoming.
Best meal we've had in our vacation.
Everything was awesome. From the time we arrived until the time we left. The service, the food, the environment was excellent. I highly recommend the Crow's Nest for any special occasion.
I always try to find time to dine here whenever I'm in Anchorage. I've never been disappointed yet. Prices are on the upper end, but not outrageous. The food is WELL worth it - I really love the meaty crabcakes. Portions are better than average for a restaurant of this caliber. The view is one of the best parts of eating here - you can pick the mountains or the water. The service is always stellar as well. Try the chef's wine-pairing dinner for an over the top experience.
Wonderful, as always!
This restaurant was fantastic. The service we received from all we interacted with - the hostess, the wait staff, the manager ALL were beyond our expectations - very attentive, helpful and friendly. The views are great from the restaurant. We travel a lot and this was one of the best meals we've had - from start to finish. I can't say enough great things about the entire experience.
Outstanding, as usual.
Excellant from start to finish
The food was quite good. We each had a Halibut dish. Our server was friendly and knowledgeable. We were not in a hurry, but the food was painfully slow to arrive which made the evening less enjoyable than it should have been. Even so, I recommend dining here.
The food was excellent, only to be outdone by the outstanding service.
Tom was fabulous as our wine steward. Our waitress (blond hair) was also fabulous. The food was flavorful and well balanced and priced well.
Wife and I celebrated our anniversary at the Crow’s Nest... service was outstanding and food portions was bigger then we imagined, while prepared as ordered. Great view of Anchorage and Chugach mountains topped the evening. Would recommend Crow’s Nest for any special occasion. Overall it is an anniversary we will remember for some time.
The staff were very friendly and knew the menu well. The ambience was fantastic. The food was WONDERFUL! We had the Rib-Eye and Scallops and it was absolutely superb!
Excellent food, excellent service, EXCELLENT experience. Went to dinner before an evening concert. Great reason to dress nice. Had a lovely table for two in a quiet section of the restaurant. Our waiter was attentive and informative. The rest of the staff were just as attentive without being intrusive. The food was fantastic. Some unusual ingredient pairings that were just wonderful. It's the perfect place to experience fine dining in Anchorage. The after dinner coffee service was a delight. We returned after the show for a nightcap, because of the wonderful service. Our waiter saw us and stopped to ask about the concert. The bar waitress was just as attentive without being intrusive. Very, very nice restaurant.
High class environment! Cuisine is well thought out. Wine list is world class.
Delicious food, excellent customer service. We will be back!
One of the best views of the Chugach range and the Cook Inlet in Anchorage
We took a couple of our friends out for date night and had a wonderful time. Our server, Logan, was amazing and helpful. Everyone enjoyed their drinks and the food was spectacular. Every time we have been here, the staff at the Crow's Nest has made us feel special.
