   Popped in for breakfast when passing through Chiddingfold, so glad we did. Food was of a high standard and the staff were efficient and friendly. Amazing setting being in a medieval pub overlooking the village.

   The two ladies requested broccoli instead of potatoes. One of them was served with chips and no broccoli, the other was served without chips or broccoli. The first lady's food was taken away and after a short while she received it with broccoli. The second lady was asked to wait for her broccoli which arrived after several minutes. When I asked a waiter why the mix up, he said it was due to mis-communication between front of house and kitchen. This suggests to me that there is a lack of training, and I did not think the staff were to blame, and I did leave a tip.

   Dear Farouk, I can only apologise for the mix up with your guests side orders yesterday. I believe this was due to a communication problem with the till system sending the correct requests through to the kitchen. Although all orders are double checked, there was a misunderstanding and I apologise for this. I have addressed the issue and will make sure this is reviewed at staff meeting. The issue has been resolved on the till system. I am delighted that the staff and kitchen resolved the mistake quickly and that you were able to enjoy the rest of your meal with us.    My family and I love visiting The Crown, the food and atmosphere are always brilliant. We would definitely recommend a visit.

   Nice country pub. Good menu. Parking quite difficult. Would recommend.

   One of our favourite lunchtime eateries. Always good service and lovely food. If I had to make one comment it would just be that the amount of flat bread strips now given with the delicious humus starter has dropped a lot! Almost too much humus but not enough bread. We will be back again:-)

   Sensational food and glorious setting but service was incredibly slow: 40 minutes from ordering for mains to arrive (didn’t have starters) and then 20 minute wait for for the wine we ordered we put in when mains eventually arrived. We told the manageress when we paid. She said ‘sorry to hear that’ but seemed completely unconcerned and in the next breath asked if we wanted the receipt. Rather baffling! However, food and ambience mean this was still a lovely experience, but next time we’ll know to allow 90 minutes for a one course meal! I should also say that they were very understanding about our rather noisy puppy, for which we are grateful!
