Excellent, fresh, quality food and friendly service. General Tsao's Prawns were *outrageously good* as were the Asparagus in Black Bean Sauce. Light, fresh, hot...fabulous. Good mixed drinks and a nice wine list. Would go back. Tables could be cleaner, however...ours was sticky and smeared when we arrived, as were other neighboring tables.
Great cold sesame noodles and chicken with mushrooms. The Buddhist soup was somewhat bland so I would stick to wonton or the hot and sour soups.
Delicious varied menu.
Food is good and staff are good about accommodating special requests. Would recommend to friends. Would go again.
I've been here several times, and the service is always quick & dependable and checks regularly to make sure your meal is going well. The food comes out quickly, even when busy. It is very good, but can be a little salty and greasy at times. I really enjoy the food here-- it's a comfort food place (lots of options that go far beyond American Chinese, too, e.g., food like poached fish soup, mapo tofu, etc.). It's not a get-dressed-up to go out place, and it knows that.
We are at the restaurant on a recommendation from a friend. It was a tasty family meal. We'd come again soon.
Solid dinner spot for the family.
Always a pain to check in here, as there is no hostess table. Place is busy, but always seems understaffed. There were a bunch of tables open, but all were waiting to be bussed. The food is always great here, but the service is subpar.
Great value, very good for the large family dinner. There will be something for everyone.
Nice and spicy
been looking for a great chinese food. i read the reviews on this and so we decided to try it. not impressed and i will not be back. this place is tired, looks and cuisine.
I ordered the Chicken chow mein. The chickem had a weird texture to it and there wasn't much of it in the dish, mostly noodles.
I did feel very "rushed" the servers a woman acted like she was on a marathon to get as many tables served as possible. She needs to slow down a bit.
This was our first visit to Crouching Tiger and we were very impressed. The food was delicious with a good amount of spice. We arrived about 6 PM. My wife and I also appreciated that it was not too loud even though the restaurant filled up later in the evening. We will definitely be back.
Dumplings are good.
We had whole fish with spicy sauce, it's NOT good.
Fried fish, tastes like fish old fish sitting around.
I thought it was poach or steam.
Would NOT recommend this fried whole fish.
Foodie's delight. We especially enjoyed the Magic Chili Shrimp and would like to try the Magic Chili Chicken next time. The curry fish soup was a very large portion of delicious fish morsels for the price.
It's a good thing we've been here before otherwise we would NEVER come back. Usually the food and service is really good. Today the service was extremely SLOW and the food was mediocre. The soup came out lukewarm and flavorless. The main dishes came out 15 minutes apart and were bland and if we hadn't been starving we wouldn't have eaten them.
We will wait a few months before we try it again.
Uneven service at lunch time. Despite simplicity of lunch special menu, the service was too slow for it to acceptable as a lunch break from work. Inadequate staffing appears to be a problem at lunch.
Orange beef was outstanding, as was the eggplant. Mu Shu pork was very good. Good service and great value. We'll be back.
We waited at least a half hour to get our drinks. It took them 45 mins to bring the appetizers to our table, of which the calimari was icy cold. Waited another 15 mins for the waiter to come back to the table. He told us the food wasn't cold when he brought it (I assure you it was). We ended up leaving after an hour having never seen our actual food order.
We ended up leaving early and going across the street.
Really good food! We actually tried mostly the non-Szechuan dishes as some of my folks can't take spicy food, but the tea-smoked duck and dongbo pork knuckles are amazing. The cabbage with dried shrimp too
From one Chinese restaurant to the next, the food is very similar in selection and quality. Crouching Tiger stands out as exceptionally tasty, fresh and satisfying.
We loved Crouching Tiger. Food was great service fast and efficient. Do not miss the Magic Chili Shrimp! We will be back!
Wonderful Food! We went for lunch at 1. The place was moderately busy and they sat us down right away. We ordered the potstickers, cold noodles and the spicy lamb. Every thing was excellent. We will definitely be back.
The string beans were excellent. Chow fun had little flavor and lots of noodles. Yushiang beef was very good. Service was quick except one item was delayed. No refills on water or check in to make sure the food was ok.
They will accommodate dietary concerns! ( less salt, less oil, less sauce, etc.)
Good Chinese soups at great value including winter melon soup. Have a large menu from mild to spicy and willing to accommodate to special requests. The service was a bit spotty this last time as there was only 1 waitress who was doing everything from seating, to taking order, to serving to cashiering. She was trying her hardest to keep up. It was during a time when they weren't expecting it to be busy on a weekend (between lunch & dinner). We come here at least once a month.
I had an enjoyable lunch with a good friend. I will come back with a group.
Although we were late due to traffic, the waitress/hostess never greeted us as guests. Instead she stood, waving her arms in the air and pointing to an open table!
My husband and I decided then to just get take-out if this was the quality of service. The food was OK and certainly not worth the drive from San Mateo. We ordered several items including a vegetarian dish w/shiitake mushroom and tofu. Needless to say, the dish contained neither.
Super duper average. Greasy. Overpriced. Would never go again.
