View Private Dining DetailsWent for Sunday brunch. The food is wonderful. Very southern with some of the best grits ever. They have a nice blend of breakfast items and lunch. The setting is beautiful....convenient valet parking too.
Service was excellent, food was good and atmosphere was modern and comfortable.
Fantastic experience. Best scallops I have ever had. The flavors are wonderful, food is served hot, service is outstanding! !
We celebrated our daughter's 21st birthday here and it was wonderful. The food was delicious and creative, featuring locally sourced items. The service was topnotch. They made a big deal about our daughter and treated her to a complimentary dessert, which they brought out with a lighted candle. It made for a very special evening! I highly recommend Crossroads.
I take my 96 year old dad and my slightly younger step mom here every time they visit me with a concert afterward at Memorial or HIll Hall. They absolutely love the dining experience. The food and service is always wonderful. They often try some food they have never tried before (this time squid :) and enjoy the new taste experiences so much. The atmosphere is lovely and QUIET so we can always hear one another.
On this particularly occasion, I called to get a reservation at 5:30 pm so we would have plenty of time to walk to the concert venue. They said the earliest they could set us was 6. I called several times about this and got the same answer each time. We went at 5:30 anyway and there was absolutely no one there and no problem seating us. I am not sure why it was so difficult to give us the early reservation to begin with given that my dad is 96 and I explained the situation.
Great food! The pimiento cheese with bacon jam and sea salt crackers was a great start to lunch. Then I had the Caesar salad and added fried green tomatoes which was awesome!
The re-boot of Crossroads is very successful, with good ambience, knowledgeable waitstaff, and usually outstanding food.
I very much preferred the precious southern decor. The modern look reminds me of Marriott renaissance brand hotels. my BBQ pull pork sandwich was pretty good.
A beautiful and historic setting with lots of southern charm. There is something on the menu for everyone.
Refined, relaxed and local. Great location. All around winner!
Food was interesting, fairly delicious and better than it has been in the last 5 years. The service was shockingly bad. Lots of runners, hosts and managers available and restaurant was not busy, but our waiter was inattentive and slow. I had to send my food back twice because it included a condiment I had explicitly asked the waiter to avoid and which he had assured me was not included on the sandwich or in the slaw.
I had to ask our runner for a refill of water twice because we had not seen our waiter since he took our order. I had to ask the runner to find my waiter twice additionally. I had to flag someone to ask for a dessert menu and coffee. I had to ask for the check after sitting for 15 minutes after we had finished our meal. Then I had to ask the manager to locate my server again, so that I could give him my payment and request a copy. I left 18% because it was a business lunch, but I would have left 20% if we had received appropriate service. I also left feeling like I should have earned a portion of the tip.
My favorite restaurant in CH, plus it happens to be located at my favorite hotel.
Another great meal at Crossroads. Excellent food and very kind, attentive service. One of my favorites!
The staff and chef delivered an excellent experience. The meatloaf left a lasting impression on my business colleague. We sat in the high backed seats which created a more quiet environment for a business meeting.
The food was fantastic, reasonable price, excellent wait staff
We had excellent service at the bar and in the dining room. The cocktails and dinner were delicious. We used the valet parking. The men operating the valet service were charming.
We decided to go to Crossroads for a late Valentine's Day date and Birthday dinner on the Friday after Valentine's Day. The last time we ate there was over twenty years ago. We don't go out for dinner often (we are pretty good gourmet cooks ourselves) and we don't usually spend a lot when we do go out. We are so glad we chose to go this time! The Carolina Inn and Crossroads Restaurant are icons in Chapel Hill. They are the classy, impressive place to host a visiting dignitary or other out of town guests. The architecture and decorative arts of the building are world class.
We each ordered wine by the glass (Pinot Grigio and Malbec) and were very pleased with our choices. My wife had the Seared Scallops and I ordered the Braised Venison. Both entrees were prepared in unique and creative ways with flavor combinations that were pleasing and memorable.
The highlight of our dining experience was the service. Specifically our server, Zoubair, was the consummate waiter. He greeted us by name (I'm assuming he got it from our Open Table reservation), he asked about our preferences and whether we had a "special occasion". He was friendly but respectful of our personal space. When we asked him about his accent he was forthcoming in sharing some of his personal experiences and we exchanged stories about the Mediterranean and New York living. When we ordered one dessert to share we were pleasantly surprised that Zoubair added a second dessert with a candle and personalized Happy Birthday greeting on it. His friendliness and pleasant personality capped off the evening for us! Thank you Carolina Inn, Crossroads restaurant and Zoubair.
Visited Crossroads for Valentines Day. For 8:30 reservations the restaurant and bar was rather full. The bar area was really loud and we were pleased to sit in another area. Surprised how big the restaurant, bar and other areas were. We had a really nice female server. I apologize to forget her name. She was very pleasant and knowledgeable of the foods and wine. As an appetizer we had Calabash Shrimp and Lemon peels. We really enjoyed it. My wife had a Reisling and I had a local IPA. For dinner my wife had sea scallops and I had pork tenderloin. Both the scallops and tenderloin were cooked perfectly. My wife could have done without the nuts in the rice. The only other call out that was resolved quickly was the heat. The fireplace was going when we arrived and the restaurant was hot. You could see a few sweltering, including me. Someone caught on and a cool breeze soon following. The final piece of the night was our server giving my wife a rose and sincerely saying, “thank you for spending your Valentines Day with us”. We are glad we did.
I had a great experience on Valentine's day with my partner. Zoobair was great!
My fiance and I went to the Crossroads for an early Valentine's celebration. The food was great! Lots of options plus many classics. I thoroughly enjoyed the corn beef hash and the grits. You can never go wrong with a Belgian waffle. The only disappointment was the rib-eye. It looked appetizing but it was a bit tough to chew. The place is a bit pricey. I would say if you don't value dessert, you may need to get your moneys worth with multiple trips to the omelet station. Bring a big appetite and you will definitely be full by the end of the meal!
Great food and service. However, I miss the former more traditional decor and formality.
This was our second great meal at Crossroads. My only critique has to do with the TV in every room. Not everyone wants to be watching sports over the shoulder of their companion (or being the one watched past), and the restaurant should have at least one room where the TV is off during dinner.
Newly renovated. Bright, beautiful, calm ambiance. Food was top notch. Salmon, pork tenderloin melted in my mouth. Crazy but the salads were to die for. Really fresh ingredients. Can't wait to go back!
The wait staff fully understood our group of 5 was going to the ballet afterward, so service was efficient (not too fast and definitely not slow). All the food was delicious.
Went for lunch. Quite spacious. Very well lit during the day. The corn muffins were amazing. The cost was well worth the quality of food and service.
This was a belated Christmas present with tickets to a game. Best present ever! The dining experience was superb in every way.
I loved the clam chowder so much that I could have licked the bowl clean.
I cannot say enough positive about our dinner. The setting was relaxed and quiet. The service was impeccable--responsive without hovering. They were attentive to our every need/want. It was our anniversary and they delighted us with a special dessert. On top of all that the food was excellent. The scallops were some of the best I have ever had. Overall a wonderful experience.
Delicious and fun!
They have redesigned the restaurant to appeal to the younger crowd. We were forced to sit on high stools which made it difficult to get on and off to get our food from the buffet. I miss the old décor and southern charm!
We ate here on a Carolina game day which of course makes a difference in business, noise level and such. Nevertheless we had a great time. We had our two kids and they had a blast as a “fancy” restaurant. They even had a 3 course meal menu for the kids - which they absolutely loved. Food was great, company was fun, service was wonderful. Menu is a little pricey but it’s what you get.
Wonderful Sunday brunch! Wide variety of options, delicious preparation, and attentive staff!
The Crossroads has long been one of our favorites places to eat. As a matter of fact, we make it a point to make reservations for a brunch or dinner each time we visit Raleigh. The food is always impeccably prepared, and everyone from the hostess to the wait staff treat you as a special guest. The ambiance is upscale but not pretentious. I would recommend a sport coat for the men.
Amazing customer service and the food was outstanding.
The staff was courteous and attentive but not invasive. The tray is a lovely idea and a good value, and the food was delicious.
We try to go every year during Christmas to have breakfast and see the 12 days of Christmas. It is always enjoyable time for our family.
very nice comfort food, tomato soup and grilled cheese, that was a far throw from childhood fare! soup was delicious, and the multiple cheeses in the sandwich were scrumptious. a bit more than either of us could eat, so we brought some home for lunch the next day. definitely recommend this place for food, ambiance, and attentive staff.
Food was great as usual. Service, normally very good, was just ok. Waiter was less attentive than I have experienced in the past.
Delicious holiday time brunch. Service was great. The Inn was decorated beautifully for Christmas, which was a nice addition to the overall experience
Lovely Christmas brunch with family. Great service. Bountiful buffet. All of our food was delicious. Christmas decorations were charming.
